Solution: Blackberry Stuck On Wifi Setup (Initial Setup)

Update!!!
If you cannot make the screen reader tell about BBID on the ‘Connecting to WiFi’ page, try the following methods, they worked for some users:
1. Close the screen reader if still on (press the power button three times), go back to the ‘Connect to a Mobile Network’ page, go forward to the ‘Connecting to WiFi’ page again, and start the screen reader on that page instead. If you still cannot hear anything being read out, tap ONCE on the ‘Previous’ button with one finger, then start swiping the screen right, listening to what the screen reader says after every wipe, and when you hear it saying: ‘Skip button, double tap to activate’, double tap the screen with one finger. The BBID pop-up should appear.
2. Visit this post at Reddit, and comment about your problem: / ultimate_fix_for_devic...
Very likely, they will offer you an autoloader. USE THAT ONE to wipe and reset your device (to learn how to use an autoloader, visit this page: forums.crackberry.com/blackbe... ).
When you are done, check this post, and follow the guide of Vladimir to reach the BBID popup:

Once you manage to reach the BBID popup by his method, you can can come back and continue following my tutorial from that point.

Blackberry users won't be able to pass the wifi setup in the initial setup when resetting their phone after 4th of jan. 2022, thus they will have an unusable device, or even if being able to close the initial setup uncompleted, it will just partially function. For example, sideloading will be unavailable. Here is a solution for the problem that works for most phones.

After many hours of trying and failing (because I think my Blackberry Protect ID was never disabled), I went the drastic route and opened the back and disconnected the battery cable. There is one tutorial on RUclips (but its in Spanish) that shows you how to do it. I left it disconnected for a couple of days. Reconnected it back up. Used AutoLoader to reset. Magic! Bypassed all the Blackberry ID and all that. I did turn Screen Reader on up until the Wifi Page but it gave me the option of hitting the NEXT button on that screen. And then I saw the Diagnostics page. I disabled and it took me through tutorials page. Brand New phone again. Thank you for your help, though! Just wanted to add my experience

Thank you so much, For those who have BBID lock enabled and don't get the BBID readout, The ultimate solution i found is to simply open the back (see tutorials on youtube) and detach the battery for few minutes, then connect to wifi, reboot and activate screen reader then proceed to wifi page, you will hear the BBID readout

Well, I have never seen such an error reported, it is odd. But anyhow, the essence is, switch on the screen reader on any page that is before Wifi setup. If no Mobile Network page, then on the page before that. Let it activate and guide you to the next page. When you reach the Wifi page follow the guide.

@@husamtech2748 In my case, what I've missed is the 'waiting'. If you follow the instruction correctly, you will hear your blackberry starts to read the texts on the screen which is invisible due to the wifi selection screen. FYI, my blackberry is Passport Siver version. Hope this helps!

Hello pal, i tried everything but no result on my BB Q10. I like to ask you a few question:
1. Which firmware did you use while autoloading? (Q10_10.3.03.3216_SQN100-1-2-3-4-5 is mine from Crackberry)
2. Does it work on a antitheft protected phone? Because when i hit 'previous' and swipe right and right. It says 'anti theft protection is on and log in required.

You need to go to that group at Reddit that I linked in the description to ask for the autoloader. It is different than the one that they offer at Crackberry. If you seach that group you can find its link. If problem is not solved by the autoloader, check my page because they posted some working solutions recently: experienceshare.net/2022/02/27/blackberry-stuck-on-initial-wifi-setup-solution/ Check the comments. Anti-theft may definately cause the issue, so in case everything fails, go back to Crackberry and search the revelant topic there to deactivate anti-theft.

Are you sure you have switched off the screen reader by that point? Because it is the screen reader that reads out that message. After passing the BBID page, you should switch it off.

I don't really understand your problem, because as you can see from the video the point is to skip the WiFi connection and have the BBID page options read out to advance from there instead. You should start the screen reader on the Mobile Network page and then go to the WiFi page and listen for the BBID page options.
