My Engine, okay after a 2 hour running in session the locomotive is preforming well. This is the longest running session I have ever conducted. My locomotive is a DDC sound version
Hi Tris, Thanks for a great review. Mine's still in the box. I went for the shirtbutton livery as I am focussing on the late 1930s when I eventually get in the loft. I love the GWR Prairies. I see Dapol are bringing out a fleet of GWR toplight coaches, these will look great behind our Prairies won't they. Starting to save now. The Manor also very tempting too. Great catching up, take care and see you soon!
Nice, nice tris looks fantastic loved seeing it pulling that coal train. Looking good on your dad's layout. I like the two heights it adds some depth to the railway. Look after yourself. Eddy xx
Hi Tris good vid lots of history details nice to know . I have the hornby version, sent it away to have real steam put in. To tts trains . Can't wait to get it back ...... got some of your 3d printed bits and pieces nice detail thanks .
Great loco Tris, mine is the same but I got DCC fitted. A quick test in both DC & DCC and all seems ok. I also got another Airfix 14xx as a non runner for £12 along with it, a sprinkling of my magic dust will soon have that going again it’s not completely dead.
Nice review Tris. A very nice loco. I will say the cab detail is very nice too. As for the cylinder bars I would say that Dapol have done them like that mainly for maintenance reasons so if you need to remove the sliding cylinder piece for what ever reason you can put it back on more easily as it has a bend on each end. That is my guess see what other people say. - Nicholas.
I found a small pip of plastic on top of the rear pony truck on my Dapol 5150; removing this stopped my loco occasionally stalling on electrofrog points. Once done, I have had trouble free running from mine too. If your track is uneven and the engine is stalling, see if there is a pip on your rear pony truck? Your dad's track looks nice and crisp and even. The only reports of weak motors I have heard applied to the Hornby new tooled prairie, released earlier in 2021.. definitely one to avoid. I like the (Bachmann city class?) 4-4-0 running as powered scenery in the video.. city of london, city of bath?
Great review Tris. I received my late BR version yesterday. Looking at my Mogul next to it, the flared sections you mentioned on the running gear are pretty straight on my model… compared to the mogul anyway 👍🏻
Hi Tris I have just received my GWR green version. Yes very nice, some minor issues with the sound chip not being fitted properly and some pick up issues which are still persistent. I have not fully run the locomotive in yet so I hope that the issues will go away.
I have exactly the same problem as you I believe you have to file the front wheels chassis down where the two springs are fitted. There is another video on RUclips how to do it, but I’ve not tried yet.
Hi I tested positive for COVID and now I have to isolate in my Bedroom and I Love Running my OO gauge Locomotives but when your in a Room on your own it gets a bit boring and this is the first time I've ever tested positive for COVID and I have had my first vaccination jab and my second vaccination jab and I have to take Lateral flow tests and they have to come back negative before I can go back to College and if I'm not negative by valentines day I won't be able to ask out my Crush on Valentines and I'm Running out of time as valentines day is vast approaching. Take care. Cheers.Lewis
I can’t see the need for powered Pony Trucks. They don’t really do much of the hard work, do they? They were designed to guide every loco round curves and over crossings. Do other manufacturers power their ponies?
Delightful narration. This is so important as on other sites, the human voice makes me reach for the extinguisher.
Great review Tris. Lovely locomotive. Thanks for sharing. Roy.
Very nice upload you done. Thanks for sharing.
Smart ! Dapols new Toplight coaches will be ideal to go with it .
I will have to check them out.
Spectacular observation
Thank you 😊

WOW, thats a lovely loco!
My Thanks to OO Neal for showing these models. I've got the DCC sound version, I love the detail on it.
My pleasure 😊
Looks good Tris, Dapol have really started to produce some nice locos lately, im sold on the 0 gauge offerings esp the 08.
Thanks Andy. They are doing a great job indeed. There O gauge one’s interest me as the price is great.

Great video....quality loco...could the flaring be to allow free movement of the driving piston ?

That could be why Nicholas, thank you for commenting

I will have a look for that pip. That’s right it’s a city class. I think this one was Truro. Thanks for commenting.

I’m sorry to hear your stuck at home. Everything will be ok though so just be patient. Take care Lewis
@@OONeal thanks so much and I will be patient. Take care.Cheers.Lewis
would imagine the slide bars are flared for ease of production, making the crosshead easier to slide in

Mould marks look so naff. I agree.
