This would be like me doing a drumming video on my channel. People would be like “oh!… That’s what he actually does, and the car thing is a hobby“ you are such a brilliant artist Jeff. Thanks for sharing this talent with us.
All I can say is INCREDIBLE! Jeff, you are a renaissance man and I now understand why you are comfortable taking on new projects and pushing into areas that are new to you.
I'm glad you mentioned that some plastics don't respond well to paint and some glues from stickers! I learnt this when I became a WH&S rep many moons ago in regards to hard hats in the construction industry! Thanks for being a first responder!
From one firefighter to another, wow, it looks amazing!!! Now I see why custom paint on helmets cost so much. So much time goes into the taping process. Beautiful work, Brother. 🔥👍
Very cool to see the old original skills on display. So much more has been learned and mastered in the meantime, and it's awesome to get to see it all. There's been hints of an alternate life before this channel started, now we get a taste of what that was all about. Impressive skills there Mr. Jeff.
That's a beautiful job by any standards, but what I really love is the 'glyphs' floating above the base design with the airbrush shadows. OK, you're a determined man, but this is talent, you've either got it or you don't.
Being an automotive painter for the last 30 years, i found your airbrush work really interesting.... Would love to see some tutorials from you re what equipment/ paints / masking tricks etc... Great work...
I use the same automotive base coats you paint the cars with, I just thin them down more for the airbrush. I didn't do a lot of masking, generally stuck to free hand artwork.
Masking more than 1 colour always does my head in - lol. Very nice Jeff, I didn't see your vision for the colours until the end and it looks fantastic.
Not only are you a wizard with the spanners, your art work is top notch. That helmet is absolutely stunning. You should start doing it again permanently as a side line to the cars. Bit more revenue for the builds. Shoei and Arai will be contacting you to do their helmets soon.
I do a lot of art myself (both comic book and also in ForzaMotorsport) and can really appreciate how difficult doing this really is. my thumbnail is Vampirella on a 73 Firebird in FM4. Good one!
That looks professional. Great work on the design and all the steps and effort you put into creating this artistic motorcycle helmet in your style. Great! Thanks for showing the steps.
That looks awesome. Much better then my flat black open face with old school flames and spray on aerosol glitter from a craft shop. Thanks for the lessons.
Jeff, you are a real wizard with that airbrush. I love that helmet and would have loved it if you could paint my helmet like that. I do V8 Sprint Car racing in South Africa. Love your videos always.
Awesome stuff man. I work as an automotive stylist and I work with tape(usually on clay but sometimes on paint). Great skills and good examples of the proper way to do it!
What a cool vid. Nice job. Wish you would have unpacked for us what types of paint and clear coat you used. You said automotive, but that is pretty vague. Looks fantastic!
WOW!!! Saying that helmet is awesome is an understatement!!! You mentioned in the video that some helmets cannot be painted. How do you know if you can or cannot paint a particular helmet?
Great work, Jeff. Just a couple of quick, basic questions, please. I want to paint a "raw black" Bell Star Carbon helmet (hate the nasty black) into white with some basic stripes. First, does it compromise the safety of a Bell Star carbon shell to paint it? If it's OK to paint, would you use a primer when after sanding down? You mentioned "auto paint" - would that be enamel or lacquer? Is there a preferred final clear coat? Finally, when you're doing a layout with masking, how do you find and divide a center point at the rear, and how do you assure that that point is extended perfectly perpendicularly upward? I think if I can set this correct rear line, I can assure a symmetrical layout on both sides and around and my stripes will be aligned and even. Many thanks, Bb North Carolina USA
Great work! Looks fantastic. Excellent choice of colours really makes it "pop" and the shadows and highlights make it a killer helmet design. Good to see something different sometimes too.
Hey jeff i was wondering what type of paint you used to paint the helmet and where to buy that tape to cover the parts of the helmet you dont want painted
Awesome , but yeah alot of time masking but a great result, thanks for sharing and given me idea , I'm doing a skateboard helmet but just basic army green then something on it not sure yet , but later down the track will do, cheers 👍🏻
Great looking helmet! I was disappointed though that we didn't get to see it assembled back together, after paint (well, other than the thumbnail)? Thanks for the video, enjoyed it 👍
Seeing this all late but its awesome none the less!!! Love it, looked at the other videos, your a bad dude!! 👍 💯, where the colors thinned down to be transparent or were they candies?
Welp, another Jeff tutorial that I'll never be able to do!🤣 Nice work!
😂

Thanks mate. You need to find a way to incorporate your drumming with the cars ;)
All I can say is INCREDIBLE! Jeff, you are a renaissance man and I now understand why you are comfortable taking on new projects and pushing into areas that are new to you.
You are so skilled mate! I watch all of your videos and I’m in awe of your ability. Cheers from the UK!
Unreal. I didn’t think I would enjoy this video that much but it’s blown me away! Amazing!!
I like the precision
I'm glad you mentioned that some plastics don't respond well to paint and some glues from stickers! I learnt this when I became a WH&S rep many moons ago in regards to hard hats in the construction industry!

What helmets should we avoid painting?
I always thought you’re an artist with your cars.. the helmet paint was truly next level👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼

That looks awesome mate, you have many talents.
Thanks mate. You do alright yourself ;)
That's a beautiful job by any standards, but what I really love is the 'glyphs' floating above the base design with the airbrush shadows. OK, you're a determined man, but this is talent, you've either got it or you don't.
That Maz Sport flame job!!!
What a cool project to break things up a little bit.
Nice work Jeff!
You are so good at this! I love this design!!! Welldone!
That was really awesome to watch , I’m a big fan of spray painting , air brushing and custom work , great stuff !!
Amazing work Jeff! You were (ehem... still are) a master airbrushing artist without a doubt!
Being an automotive painter for the last 30 years, i found your airbrush work really interesting.... Would love to see some tutorials from you re what equipment/ paints / masking tricks etc... Great work...

excellent video… those flames are really nice… freehand too. i use the real fire curve stencils for the sharp round parts and freehand the rest
Why such a talent stop in airbrush buisiness? Very very well done !! Great job
Wow Jeff.....
In completely blown away.
I dont know how you can keep all these lines in your head apart...
Looks amazing.!!👍💪🛠
What an artist, this helmet is pure art! nicely done Jeff!
Turned out awesome!!!Please dont forget to show it completed on an episode!Jeff of many trades!!!
There will hopefully be plenty of track days in the Roxster to come ;)
How do you determine which helmets can be painted and which ones can't?
You need to find out from the manufacturer, but generally carbon fibre and fibreglass are ok, plastic is not.
@@HomeBuiltByJeff that makes sense. Thanks so much for your reply. Really enjoying your content.
Sick 🔥🔥🔥🔥
Well that's it I'm really jealous! I would have had the tape wadded up in a mess with paint overspray everywhere. You have mad skills!
Not only are you a wizard with the spanners, your art work is top notch. That helmet is absolutely stunning. You should start doing it again permanently as a side line to the cars. Bit more revenue for the builds. Shoei and Arai will be contacting you to do their helmets soon.
Damn. Finally content where you actually know what you are doing. Nice..
I do a lot of art myself (both comic book and also in ForzaMotorsport) and can really appreciate how difficult doing this really is. my thumbnail is Vampirella on a 73 Firebird in FM4. Good one!
Wow, that was a surprise for sure. Really good result! Seems like there is nothing with cars you can't do.
Ohhh Jeff, your helmet is sublim, I love it
That’s a gorgeous design
Another string to the bow we didn’t realise but should have 🙏🏴
That looks professional. Great work on the design and all the steps and effort you put into creating this artistic motorcycle helmet in your style. Great! Thanks for showing the steps.
A man of many talents mate
Thanks for the tips and how you did the steps, I feel better about starting my own project now.
Wow that’s wild ! I’m a firefighter looking to get into a side job possibly painting helmets.
That looks awesome. Much better then my flat black open face with old school flames and spray on aerosol glitter from a craft shop. Thanks for the lessons.

Clever chap Jeff, what can't you do..?
It has yet to be invented.
Sit still?
@@_Bram pretty sure you're right there, wish I had his energy and enthusiasm...
Excellent craftsmanship very talented 👏
Wow that helmet looks awesome, i did not know you are such artist 👨🎨. Good job.
Awesome stuff man. I work as an automotive stylist and I work with tape(usually on clay but sometimes on paint). Great skills and good examples of the proper way to do it!
Thanks mate
Talented man Jeff, well done!
This something I would love to do...I will do. Thanks you for pointing me in the right direction.
Very cool can you tell us what paint you prefer to use and why?
Looks fantastic Jeff.
Fantastic! I'm inspired. I've been putting off doing the same, but I think I'm going breakout the airbrush and dust off the helmet.
Great video! I airbrush my own helmets for karting, would love to airbrush full time. I don't get enough satisfaction just painting my own.
Wow.. Nice. Most of your fab stuff I can and have done similar, but this is way beyond what I can paint!
Simply Brilliant Mate! A joy to watch the transformation! Cheers!
Very nice work! We’ll done! How does one determine if paint will weaken the helmet?
What a cool vid. Nice job. Wish you would have unpacked for us what types of paint and clear coat you used. You said automotive, but that is pretty vague. Looks fantastic!
My hat off to you man. The artistic mind has always baffled me. That design is cherry. A little pearl wouldn't have have hurt though. 😉. Congrats.
Impressive skill levels , looks great 👍🏼
Incredible Jeff!!!! Really like the design.
WOW!!! Saying that helmet is awesome is an understatement!!! You mentioned in the video that some helmets cannot be painted. How do you know if you can or cannot paint a particular helmet?
Simply amazing and satisfying to watch.
Cracking job Jeff, a very talented man. I'm sure if you had the time you could still be doing it as a side hustle and making some coin.
wow....was around your area midweek on a bike ride...saw few fire trucks about...checked all of them ..made sure if i spotted you

Cracking job Jeff.
Wow! Previously unknown talent, that's really impressive, Jeff.
Hey jeff i was wondering what type of paint you used to paint the helmet and where to buy that tape to cover the parts of the helmet you dont want painted
Looks great, the thumbnail doesn't do it justice, but that's good, as its worth the whole video.
Awesome , but yeah alot of time masking but a great result, thanks for sharing and given me idea , I'm doing a skateboard helmet but just basic army green then something on it not sure yet , but later down the track will do, cheers 👍🏻
Is it okay to paint the bell kc7-cmr ??
Really impressive. Enjoyed the process.

Mate! Just wow. That's seriously decent.
very talented, looks amazing
Thanks for the excellent tutorial Jeff 🤠
this is awesome, excellent piece of art work done👌👌👌I would like to know which paint type (code) and airbrush model required for helmet painting
Those flames on the blue Mazsport in your portfolio photos tho'. Wow. 0:49
awesome work Jeff!
Awesome video Jeff! I presume you leave off the rubber rim around the base, or do you replace it?
That's so satisfying to watch. Love your work.
How many time do you wait between you paint something and have to tape that painted zone to continue painting the other layer?
Awesome job mate and thanks for your take on it
wow nice job. good video. do you remember how many hours you had into this job? thanks.
Wow amazing!! What is the gloss finish mix? That really makes it pop!
Nice change up in content Jeff! Great job with the helmet I like the design!👍
That turned out so nice!
That looks stunning!
Looks awesome, congratulations
That looks amazing! Nicely done.
Stand back...really skilled artist at work! I suppose the question on most people’s minds is why you stopped doing it?
Time for a change.
A lot of talent!…great job!
Wow....Awesome work but I was sooo hoping you were going to airbrush purple tartan 👌
Well done dude, amazing work!
Beautiful work...
Great looking helmet! I was disappointed though that we didn't get to see it assembled back together, after paint (well, other than the thumbnail)? Thanks for the video, enjoyed it 👍
What kind of paint can a DIY person like myself use or buy from?
How do you know which helmet won’t be weakened by this process ? I’d like to do this on rpha 1 or rx7v fim
Seeing this all late but its awesome none the less!!! Love it, looked at the other videos, your a bad dude!! 👍 💯, where the colors thinned down to be transparent or were they candies?
Yellow doesn't cover well and it needs to be thin for the airbrush anyway
Love your work. So talented.
thats awesome jeff! great looking helmet!
