    Originally, Kuku was played as the women danced with their fishing nets after they had come back from fishing. Today Kuku is a popular rhythm played at all kinds of festivals including full moon celebrations. Initially, there were no dunun used for this rhythm. It was played on three different djembes, one of which was tuned low.
