I think buying gold and keeping it is a solid principal because it beats inflation, but it is a extremely slow rising investment. It is not something you can cash in for a huge profit because it rises extremely slowly. The time it can be of use is if currencies collapse.
2018 a kilo of gold was 40,000 and now 58,450 this is partly to do with the dollar inflation but in real world term you just gained 18,000 dollars and the rest is tip.

Gold price is essentially static over the long term, and therefore it's a terrible hedge against inflation if it can't even beat 3% inflation every year, and this and next year inflation is approaching 5-7%. Gold is a terrible investment, you would have had over 100% ROI if you bought BTC. Gold's supply is artificially controlled, we have no idea how much gold there are on earth. But BTC's supply is 100% finite.

I would still stick to heavily investing in mutual funds (not single stocks) and keep no more than 10% of my net worth invested in precious metals and digital currency. No more than 10%.

I think buying gold and keeping it is a solid principal because it beats inflation, but it is a extremely slow rising investment. It is not something you can cash in for a huge profit because it rises extremely slowly. The time it can be of use is if currencies collapse.
2018 a kilo of gold was 40,000 and now 58,450 this is partly to do with the dollar inflation but in real world term you just gained 18,000 dollars and the rest is tip.

No it's not......How's the price for gold now? Gold price is essentially static over the long term, and therefore it's a terrible hedge against inflation if it can't even beat 3% inflation every year, and this and next year inflation is approaching 5-7%. Gold is a terrible investment, you would have had over 100% ROI if you bought BTC. Gold's supply is artificially controlled, we have no idea how much gold there are on earth. But BTC's supply is 100% finite.

Yes, BTC has finite supply, but there are many different types of those digital coins that exist over the web, which collectively makes them infinite in terms of their supply. I would still stick to heavily investing in mutual funds (not single stocks) and keep no more than 10% of my net worth invested in precious metals and digital currency. No more than 10%.
