The guys are looking good! I'm just wondering; what's the thinking behind the pacing (doing the first rep faster, and going slightly more controlled on the second)?
In essence, the first rep is to emulate “race effort” … staying controlled whilst getting progressively quicker. They will all aim to run the first half of the 10k race in 14 minutes or less. The second rep is threshold, this is to flush out the lactate from the first rep, so they can recover quicker, as well as keeping some volume in their legs to support the ‘bigger picture’ with training 👍🏼
@@the.distanceproject thanks, that's really helpful. 👍🏻 I tend to wind my sessions up, so I finish up with the harder paced efforts, and do a tempo(ish) effort CD to flush out the lactate. But I've recently noticed a couple of athletes doing these race simulation type sessions in this manner and wondered. All about the freshness for race day! 💪🏻
these videos have me smiling through my screen. Keep it up lads!
Glad to hear it!

Coach Andy using both min/km and min/mile within seconds to describe paces in one workout. Absolutely reckless behaviour.

If you mean the shoes - HOKA RocketX2 and HOKA Cielo X1 🫡
And here's me feeling chuffed that my km splits were getting down 8min! 😂😂😂 mind you, I have 30-odd years on these guys, a tired tubby mum...
It’s all relative!
The boys are fast
Very fast
Welp, I bought a Pace 3 (KE) 2 days ago, I hope the new one isn’t better!
I (Callum) personally prefer the new colorway that's coming out! Same watch though, so all the functionality is the same!
@@the.distanceproject which one did you get, Mist?
Yep!
Yeah it is pretty nice tbh, damn haha
Killer workout! Callum is by far the most difficult to understand for my American ears. The others are easier.
Keep tuning in, you’ll get used to it 😜
🔥
👍🏼
what would you do on the rest of the 6 days, easy?
They will have 1 workout on Tuesday and 1 lighter workout on Thursday, to keep the body awake before the race on Sunday :)
Thanks, appreciated. Would be helpful if u can record that too or provide the workout here itself ❤
You can follow the athletes on Strava to see all of their training 💪🏼
Makes sense. Thanks mate!
Why does eferm neved take his top off lol
