I begin the restoration process of the Pioneer SA-8800. Turns out, this thing is in a bit more sad shape than I initially thought. Hopefully, we will prevail.
I just moved my SA-8800 to a new flat, was excited to listen to some tunes just to find out it suddenly wasn't working - it turns on, but there is no output (or maybe input, but I wasn't trying to headphone output yet). Maybe I did something to it when moving. What would be the first thing to check?
Hi, how are you enjoying the SA 8800 a year out? Used to have an SX 3700 in the day, and looking at this as the mid-life crisis replacement. Are replacement caps and other parts an issue? thanks.
Crazy to think its been a year... And so far, it works fine! but ive only used it a few times. Work has me busy anymore aside from weekends which again is more work... As far as parts? yeah you can still get the SA-8800 rebuild kits on ebay, etc.
