- French jazz singer Cyrille Aimée is one of the most undeniably talented vocalists making music today. She grew up in France surrounded by gypsy music and culture, both of which play a key role in her art today.
Aimée made her long awaited debut at The Greene Space at WNYC with a band of internationally acclaimed companions, hosted by Jonathan Schwartz. She joined us for a CD release party celebrating her new Mack Avenue Records album,"Let's Get Lost."

Fabulous arrangement & fabulous everything else!
Cyrille Aimée is a complete artist, but one that remains much less known, applauded and publicized than she deserves.
Never heard of her. Was researching Monk. All I can say.... WOW! Loved this.
Me too. Gob-smacked!
She and her band are amazing. Great playing and her delivery is so cool.
This is my favorite song to ever exist
A amazing jazz band which is band members understand each other!
Encore une version a sa sauce!Quelle intuition,quelle intelligence!Elle nous transorte ailleurs!Et le groupe,superbe!
Clever arrangement, and incredible musicianship!
You're talkin' so sweet well you needn't
You say you won't cheat well you needn't
You're tappin' your feet well you needn't
It's over now, it's over now
You're dressin' with class well you needn't
You're holdin' your sass well you needn't
You think you're a gas well you needn't
It's over now, it's over now
It's over now, it's over now
You've had your fun, so take a bow
You oughta know, you lost the glow, the beat is slow, the shadows grow,
The lights are low, it's time to go, let's close the show down
You're taking off weight well you needn't
You're looking just great well you needn't
You're settin' the bait well you needn't
It's over now, it's over now
It's over now, it's over now
It's over now, it's over now
It's over now, it's over!
Thank you!

She is a star.
Merveilleux! Such an interesting and modern interpretation! I always had Carmen McRae's version in my head but this...c'est super!
Vraiment!
La nueva voz del jazz! I love Cyrille's approach to songs/music, and her ensemble... amazing! The musical conversation is incredible.
Big Love !!!
Thumbs up! Great voice!
awesome!
That bass player is incredible.
Yes, Mr. Nicholas Gentry, you are right.
You may also want to hear the bass of Jiří Mráz (aka George Mraz), in the same song, sung by Carmen McRae, back in 1988:

Bro,,, that the Zelda chords for the first 2 a sections?
Painfully hip.
I know that Monk wrote this tune, but does anybody know who wrote the lyrics?
Mike Ferro.

Yeah who are the sidemen?
Les 3 qui boivent à la même bouteille ça fait bizarre fin 2020
mais non! faut pas incorporer c'tteu parano sinon la Chine aura déjà gagné, pote!
This doesn't hold a candle to Carmen McRae in terms of soul, accuracy, and swing; and I don't hear the spirit of TS Monk here, but Jazz is dead, so no one really fucking cares...
Soo, so wrong....
@@georgenovak7614 oh really? Care to amplify on that claim instead of giving me your asshole, errrr opinion? I mean, for example of what I'm saying, this video has 750+ thumbs up and 40 down. That's about 800 total. There are just under 8 billion people in the world. As I was saying 2 years ago, no one cares.
