    Hi John, love your simple and functional clamp rack. I built one for my shop with leftover pieces of 2×4's. Thank you for the idea.

    This is a really nice design! Have to admit I was skeptical because it looks so easy but gave it a try and found your design really is just this simple and easy to make. I am extremely pleased with the results and my new clamp rack is a huge improvement in my shop. Your measurements and tips are spot on and perfect; thank you for a great how-to video! I look forward to seeing more on your channel. Cheers!

    Loved the video. Since making it, have you got more clamps? Was wondering if staggering the vertical spacing layout might allow for more clamps as you add more. Keep up the great work. Love the channel.

    Very quick and easy rack. Great job and used up scrap as well! I do have to say my OCD alarm was going insane with you covering up your power outlet tho. LOL My wife immediately pointed that out and said there was no way I'd be able to live with that. She's right. But I have lots of OCD hang-ups that she likes to point out. haha. So no worries man! Great video and nice shop too!

    Excellent stuff, John! I definitely need to do something similar myself because I'm really struggling with Clamp Paradox: I never have enough clamps when I'm building something, but when I'm not, they're feckin' everywhere and I'm tripping over them all the time.

  • @frankslittleworkshop

    Great build John 😁. I love builds that are quick and rewarding and just use up your scraps of 4x2.... (or 2x4... depending where you are in the world 😂🤣). Mitre station looks like it's working a treat (saw station envy is kicking in 🤔). I think I need a bigger shop..... and you need lots more clamps (you can never have enough 😁). Stay safe John 😁👍

    Hi John , another great vid, towards the end you mentioned that your wall is only OSB so you were concerned about strength. Just a suggestion, if you were to attach the horizontal 2x4 to two vertical 2x4s, you would increase the overall holding power and put less concentrated strain on the wall.
    Keep up the good work , always look forward to your projects

    Hello John, a comment on mitre saw, not the rack. It would be a good idea to place some mesh over the dust outlet to catch any small pieces of wood going into the dust extraction ducts.

  • @Realism91

    I've always liked what that style of clamp rack looked like, mine is way simpler, just a 4' piece of strapping attached to the wall with two short pieces of 2x4 and the clamps just hang anywhere on it.

    Visually impaired can’t see just taking up wood turning come across your RUclips station and love it. Subscribe so so been watching a lot of your door should I say listen to a lot of your RUclips clips. As want to do a lot with wood again. Like your benches and your storage love to be able to see them but I’ll listen to it and get a pretty good idea of what you say and put a picture in my head.

      John McGrath yeah absolutely brilliant if you could that would be awesome. But you’re quite good at explaining stuff anyway. Listen to the router table wouldn’t mind trying to work how to do one of them. It’s probably easier using a router on the table and it would be loose now without any site.. Got bit lost when it come to the fence and for the dust extractor where couldn’t see pictures couldn’t quite realise what you was talking about.. And have you ever done anything on your rolls of sandpaper. As trying to work out how to store rolls of sandpaper when I get some neatly in order of grit and a way of having somewhere to make it easier to cut a straight piece off. Little challenge for you. Stay safe at this time and keep up the great work good RUclips clips and I love the one with the glass gate sorry quick question on that the rubber did you attach it to the piece of ply you slide to stop?, Going by the description I think that’s what you did but not too sure

    Excellent John. If I didn't know you were an electrician by day I certainly would of guessed it seeing how many screws you use to hold the rack up. Keep it up.
    One question comes to mind, what's the story with your intro music?

    • @JohnMcGrathManInShed
      @JohnMcGrathManInShed  4 года назад +1

      I put in a lot more screws then 3 lol, the intro music was just on the site I used to build the intro, I liked it so went with it.

    Thought about you yesterday. I got the weirdest wiring job in my garage...house is only 10 years old so it’s gotta be a mistake. Summary: three way outside lights that oppose each other (one light comes on while the other goes off) and the only way to turn outside lights on is turn garage outlets off ( same switch)😳🤔 bizarre. Now I gotta pretend like I’m a sparky (what we call electricians). Nice video btw. Built one for my yard tools.
