Days 3 & 4: CAN This Trip Be PEACEFUL After All?! [Peace River Paddling Trail]

- After considering ending the trip early during my first two days, day 3 and 4 on the Peace River Paddling Trail turned out to be peaceful, scenic, and enjoyable. There were still alligators, but they were further away that before since the river was wider and less windy. This was such a pleasant part of the trip, I can't wait to share it with you!

What is Beer in Beautiful Places?
Hi, I’m Maddie! Celebrating an outdoor adventure with a beer has been a long-time tradition for me, and I wanted to create a platform for like-minded folks to come together. In my videos, I cover all types of adventures and review beer! Topics include day hiking, kayaking, travel, thru-hiking, and life on the road. In short, if you would describe yourself as an outdoorist, outdoorsman, outdoorswoman, hiker trash, nomad, or dirtbag, come on along, this is the channel for you! Welcome and cheers!

hang in there girl 🎉 im at over 1200 days vanlife now in canada … insane 😂
just rememeberrr its literally how you make it
you come out tougher 👌🙏
bless your journey 🪶
Awesome Maddie!! So happy for you that the days got better and you kept paddling…I still can’t get over how beautiful the palm trees look along the river…and those long shots of the peaceful river are just amazing!!
Yes!! It was such a beautiful place!
I started watching the AT vids and missed the adventures! Enjoy!
I miss those too, in a way! My knees sure don't, though!
Love the Peace, I try to take at least 1 or 2 trips a year down it. Been doing that for 34 years . We swim in it all the time :) Those rocks with the holes are Limestone.
That's awesome! It's quite a place. Good to know about it being limestone, too!
Other than the alligators, that looks like a lot of fun.
It was!
I have floated down the Peace River many times since my college years, then with my family and now with my grand children, enjoy
That’s awesome!! What point did you usually start from?
New subscriber here! Loved your video of Peace River. I lived in Hardee County for years and camped along the river banks when I was younger. Zolfo springs is a small little town, next time you visit there, you must try their tacos at the local Mexican restaurant, best I've ever had!
Thanks so much for subscribing!! That was such a neat area, I’m really glad I got to visit there!
What an adventure! I’m glad you kept at it. Don’t ever keep going if your gut tells you not to, for sure. As they say, “We tend to pack our fears”. That looks so remote and wild, but I would guess those gators wanted less to you than you did with them. You’re a brave woman! This is the kind of trip I would love to do…fly by the seat of your pants and let the adventure unfold.
Definitely! They say there's never been a gator incident on the Peace River, but being out there alone with them was still freaky anyway, especially when the river wasn't as wide and I was closer!
Hi Maddie 👋🏻 Hope you're doing well my friend 🤞🏻 Stay safe and take care 😊 God Bless 🙏🏻 Appreciate you 🫶🏻
Thank you, I am doing good! You take care, too!
@BeerinBeautifulPlaces Great to hear my friend 🙏🏻Thank you Maddie 🫶🏻
I enjoyed following your AT adventure.
You are brave on this trip with those alligators hanging out along the way.
Good to see you out challenging yourself.
Aw yay! Thank you so much!
Watching this during a Maine winter storm...in April! 😮 Love your adventures Maddie. Thanks for the warm vibes. ✌️
Thank you so much!! Stay warm!
❤️❤️❤️love your adventuresome soul!
Aww! My soul says thanks!
Thank you for taking us along! I love how you persevere!
Thanks! In this case, seeing what the rest of the river had in store made the most sense, rather than finding something else to do!
You’re a true solo adventure & I love how you embrace nature. Be honest if you rolled over in your kayak into the water. How concerned would you be for alligators and how fast would you jump up out of the water and land back in your kayak in less than probably three seconds just laughing. ❤😊
It would be hard to tip out of my kayak since the water wasn’t very fast or strong! But I would NOT be okay with being in that water! Too murky and even though alligators usually leave people alone, that doesn’t mean always!!
Glad the trip is becoming peaceful. I really want to kayak on a river now…preferably one without gators though. And I’ve never kayaked in my life. 😂 I really love your videos.
I'm so glad!! Kayaking is awesome! Like hiking but working different muscles and you can take breaks and still be moving forward!
I looks peaceful Maddie ' I hope your are having fun.I hope you have a great week.
Thank you!! Same to you!
I am loving this latest adventure with you, Maddie. You love the little things. I appreciate that. ❤
Yay! Thank you!
Thanks!
Wow! Thank YOU!
By far the most entertaining adventurer I've seen on RUclips. I can't get into other people's channels like I do with yours lol
That's so kind of you! Thank you, I really try to make them as interesting as possible!
I love this adventure youre on Maddie! Kayaking is one of my favorite past times in Michigan 🩵
That’s awesome! Michigan is beautiful!
Holy cow I can't believe its been 6 months since you finished the AT. Its seems like yesterday to me still haha. Time flies
I know what you mean! Seeing new hikers leaving from Georgia this past month or so has been bittersweet!
Good morning! Ranger Espresso with breakfast. Yummy yum yum calorie up. Looks like wonderful weather and different scenery that keeps you paddling along. It’s mind boggling sleeping knowing that gators and snakes in the mix. Good job editing your Peace River kayak adventure. How many miles paddling a day?
✌️♥️💪🇺🇸
Thanks! I’m glad you’re enjoying it! I didn’t have an accurate way to measure, but it was about ten miles a day!
I love the campspots you found. Very peaceful. So glad you are feeling comfortable and enjoying this adventure! Thanks for bringing us along!
Yeah! The campsite options were way better downriver!!
Love the videos on this adventure. Beautiful river and scenery!
Thanks for taking us with you! You are an inspiring solo adventurer of the world!
Aww thanks so much!!
In the beginning of the video when you were putting the boat in the water all i could picture was a gator coming out of the water. I definitely watched too many movies 🎬 😂
It would be pretty rare for that to happen!
Your videos are really fun. Glad to see the adventure 😊
Awww thanks so much!
Hey Maddie been waiting for this❤
the river looks alot nicer , happy you can enjoy it more . you have nice videos . have fun be safe
Very nice video, Maddie! Thanks for taking us along 🤍
My pleasure! Thank you for watching!
Much more peaceful this time around!❤
Yes! And thank goodness!
You pointed out the rocks with holes you tied up to - it's limestone, which is the underlying rock of most of Florida.
Nice! That’s what the caves in Kentucky are made out of too!
Good to see you continued on and didn't tap out after day 2.
I figured it might get better and it did!!
This trip got better as the days went on. Great job, Maddie!
Thanks so much!!
Being real with yourself, Is Being you. See next time. Love, Godbless🌞🌞🦐🐪
Beer in Beautiful Places when we can’t!
Glad you enjoyed!
I am enjoying floating down the river with you, without the gnats!
Your paddling has gone a lot better since you started..😊
Every adventure is different. Thanks for your frank perspective. The good times are just around the bend. I see a new shirt. Did you frame your AT shirt and hand it on the wall? Have a day.
Another one!!! Let's Go!!
Yay!!
It was nice to see you just kicking back and enjoying the "fruits of your labor" (views, having a beer etc) minus the anxiety of the gators. You were cruising down the river pretty quick at some places.....
Yeah! Days 3 and 4 were awesome!
Have you ever thought of leading excursions for paying customers?
✌️❤️🙏
Sometimes, when I am camping in the swamp, I will sleep for a whole day 🙂
Nice!
My old paddling grounds.
Nice!!
You are in my country!!!! Be careful of alligator mating season
Bobcats
Panthers and snakes
You need more boat around you
I'm glad there's lots of dragonflies eating those mosquitoes for you. ❤
They were awesome to see!
Ouch; I could almost feel that coffee burn.
It only hurt for a little bit, luckily!
Ahhhhh.... My blurry old friend, 480p.... We meet yet again.
So glad I haven't seen any more close encounters with alligators, about gave me a heart attack. Thanks for the awesome video.
The one on the first day was definitely the worst of it! Once the river was less curvy, they were further away from me
Yikes! At 8:30 is a tussock moth caterpillar that can sting you. Lucky you didn't pet it! Nice trip!
When u were wondering what kind of rock was that with the “holes” on em, wasnt that coral/reef rock? It looks like it
Corral enjoy your float. The gators are weary of you no problems, we actually swim with them. Longshot class of 2004. By the way congrats on your big break-through with Disney, well deserved.
If I may ask, how do you get the camera to rotate from looking forward to looking back at you while you paddle?
It’s an insta 360! On a certain setting it films in every direction, then you go back and choose which direction you want to show up on screen!
❤
Fearless content creator...
I wouldn’t say fearless!
How in the heck did your Crocs survive the AT? Maybe that's why the alligators are staying away.
Haha true!!
Awesome trip! 😊"-BACON WRAP *
Thanks, Bacon Wrap! Did you notice your pancakes in my AT documentary when I was talking about trail magic? Sorry if you’ve already mentioned that and I forgot!
How do you drink warm beer? I tried once could not do it
I had a insulated lunch box I kept my beer and some food in! It kept stuff slightly cool til Day 5 or so!
Another day won!
Next time carry some incense to burn or mosquito coils! And dragonflies have almost 100% prey ratio, they will eat those mosquitoes! I even have a dragonfly tattoo!
No see ims, they bite like mosquitos ...Longshot
I was a sub fro when you only had 500 subs, when are you going to do Hawaii?
Hey!! Thank you! The native people of Hawaii are negatively impacted by too many tourist, so I’ll enjoy other places instead!
@@BeerinBeautifulPlaces What a weird thing to say
@@_Username__not weird at all, I agree with her, it is the truth.
@@cherylbrunette2490 well it's weird because I am here in Hawaii now doing touristy stuff 😬
You know whats crazy is that you can get up early and think you got this day.....and be groggy the whole day and not get much accomplished. Then the next attempt ....wake up kind of late but pull hard and get a lot done. Then there's a day where you feel rested took a vitamin....and pulled a full whole day. Yes!!! Bit then then be groggy the next day.
I get bullied so hard some days by scientists and military ..... I barely get much done. And I'm.cryong and bohoing....and crawling to get something done.....
I guess in my mind.....i will wake up early every morning and conquer the days.....and that's that. Until.the sleep insomnia hits from the environment I'm in.
Never happens. I guess I came to the realization that my body carries this soul. And this soul carries this body.....and it aint going to be any other way.
So my like my late grandpa says....suck it up buttercup. That's life.
It aint going to be my way.....so be it.
I’m from California and I can’t understand why someone would camp or kayak there. Good beer choices. 😅
I filmed this in mid-March and Florida is the only place I know of on this side of the country where you can count on warm weather. Plus the palm trees and cypress trees with Spanish moss are such a unique, beautiful environment!
How many miles a day are you averaging?
I didn't have an accurate way to measure, but I think it was about 10 miles a day
@@BeerinBeautifulPlaces Thanks! That’s a lot of miles1
Dragonflies mosquito eaten machines
Are you sitting to close to the waters edge since there are alligators?
I passed other people swimming and hanging out in the water once I got a few days into the trip! My understanding is it would be extremely rare for them to come after a person
Hi Maddie! 😊 Why didn't u start a fire? 🔥 ⛺
Just because I never feel like gathering wood! It would have been a nice ambiance though!!
Why are you canoeing that river…seems crazy risky…
Statistically, stinging insects, dogs, and farm animals kill significantly more people in the US per year than alligators!
Love yourself, change your eating habits
Remember, what you see me eating on this trip was purposely full of calories (more energy) and packable, not what I eat every day
@@BeerinBeautifulPlaces Good fuel is good performance (without the side effects). Read the ingredient lists.
I can’t watch you anymore…..I only see … Disney new animated movie…. MS. RANGER an her animal friends save the forest from the savage WILDFIRE 🔥
Thanks!
Thank you so much for this!!
