Durthu is not mad at the elves, he's just dissapointed.
Low Quality Gamer ya I think that summarizes him best, not hateful, but severely disappointed at their constant fuck ups. Hince why he has never actually turned against them despite being the person who should rightfully hate them most of all chaos curroption or not

He is like a Treebeard who lost himself in the horrors and reality of war. He leads the 'Last March of the Ents' that never ends. Awesome and yet tragic.

Durthu made a promise to protect the elves. In spite of their constant misguidance and hubris he would not seek to harm or cast them out. Maddening were his efforts. He must have felt so alone 😭😭

Wow, End Times Durthu was badass. But seems to have gotten shafted by the writers in some ways. That ending though... that was actually not bad.
Durthu is so epic... He goes out like a real hero, slayers would be proud of him...
He is amazing, but sadly because of end time shit...
he simply killed himslef for nothing because all the enormous sacrifices all the hero made is just fkall sad end time
Don't worry. Gotrek Gurnisson was so epic that GW had to keep him alive as Grimnir's replacement

Not entirely for nothing, through his actions, the Realms of Age of Sigmar were born, Alarielle has the power to stand against Chaos, and the mortal races now have a fighting chance on a mostly even playing field, and he is remembered through his descendants in those realms, the aptly named Spirits of Durthu, who claim a direct lineage to the mighty defender himself. And now that that setting is actually good, it's worth the fight. Not that this makes the End Times any less poorly executed, though.

The thing I love about Warhammer Total War is the potential to have these massive fights you never otherwise got.

One thing I love is that by all accounts Durthu and Wood Elven forces are is the campaign so amazing against undead, no ranged forces and reliance of heavy magic to try and nuke down the elven forces are the only shot, besides that I've taken two undead Mousillion armies with a single army lead by Durthu. 1.5k plus undead casualties, just over 200 elven/treemen casualties

I have heard so much lore since becoming a WHF fan. Durthu is hands down my favorite. The end times killed off so many characters and he was the only one whose death I truly lamented. However, I also understand he was the only one who truly HAD to die. Kinda hard to have chaos win when you have a tree God reducing demons to fertilizer.
My hat is off to you sir for your fantastic videos. You have a well earned subscription from me.

Nice to know that Alarielle managed to purify him in the End Times,but if she could've managed to purify his fellow Elder as well,that would've made a epic battle,the two of then fighting together in the Last battle.
Pity that no-one managed to purify him before than though. Also did Grimgor Ironhide and Durthu ever bump heads,so to speak,as he's always looking for a good fight,abd I feel than Durthu could've given him one,if he ever invaded Athel Loren?
Durthu was a Selfless being regardless of his anger.. wish humans were like that RIP

Only a little bit into it, and I've already got mad respect for Durthu for deciding not to trust his own judgement as soon as he realised he had some bitterness affecting his perceptions. I get the feeling this is gonna be a Drycha situation and he'll slowly become more and more corrupted until one day he can no longer override that hate with reason.

Story continues in aos with the Sons of Durthu. They are an order of tree lords that are the ever queens body guard but got banished for some unknown crime and are only now coming back to redeem thenselfs. There is alittle more then that but sadly i dont have the book with me. Another great video sotek cheers

Durthu's story is a good example of how not EVERYTHING in the Endtimes is bad. Just most things.

Sorry to say so, your vid started great, but your narrative got lost somehow towards the end. Next time try to make a plan of how you want to tell the story, when or how you want to add information of the deeper lore or to bring actions into perspective. Most importantly, don't interrupt yourself, you start telling a story arc, finish it first, explain later, this gives your narration a better flow.
