I am really enjoying each day as you unwrap your surprise and then match it to a skein that you already have, to crank a pair of socks. This was a brilliant plan for Vlogmas.
It was my first day back after a week off for the Thanksgiving holiday, it was busy as everyone that didn't take extra days off sent all the emails. Its good to sit and chill afterwork watching RUclips and relaxing.
Returning vlogmas viewer here, I started my first pair of socks a year ago today and I have fond memories of watching your vlogs and working on my first 2 pairs of socks. Sock knitting got me through my last semester in college. I graduated in May and was knitting on some socks during the ceremony in all my regalia and thought of you! I wouldn't have brought it if I didn't see you do it first. I finally started the heel flap for the second one yesterday. I have some lofty sock knitting goals for this month, but I'm determined to end my first year of sock knitting with clear needles and woven ends. Very excited for your cranking adventures! x
This was so funny, I turned on your podcast to listen to while I cleaned my craft room, so I loved it so much that you were cleaning yours too...felt like we were cleaning our craft rooms together. :) Yay for a cleaner space to work on projects!
I’ve never really been super interested in owning a sock knitting machine (and probably still am not?) but I am LOVING seeing you work on yours and showing us the whole process! And going through picking out the matching yarn for your minis is so fun 😊 so excited for your vlogmas this year 🎉
I have no idea what questions to ask about your sock machine, but I want to know more about it, so I appreciate you telling us random stuff, like how to adjust the tension and what to do when you drop a stitch!
I love your Vlogmas concept. Using your friendly advent, and then matching it to stash yarn, and cranking a pair of socks is brilliant. Jen Geigley also has that same sock cranking machine and she's demonstrated it on her blog. Frankly it just looked WAY too fussy for me, but I can see the advantages. Just to confirm: you don't do an afterthought heel, right? I love the hung cuff. So, yeah, this is both motivating and tempting. thx!
I didn’t even realize the plant was being accosted until seeing your comment and another person’s. LOL! Oops! And my sock machine is from Dean and Bean!
I was knitting so I wasn't watching close enough. Do you wrap your heels? I learned the two up, 1 down method and much prefer that. You don't have to wrap except for at the beginning and end. I find it goes much faster as long as I can remember what I've done😂
@rachelisknitting i also only do cuff down. When you are pushing needles down, you pull 2 up on 1 side and 1 down on the other and it creates the wrap for you
Oh dear 😰 and I left a joke under last video like who cleans and cookes at your house? I so hope you didn't missunderstand that! The thought that your room was messy/dirty never even crossed my mind! I was saying that because you had knit soooo much on your WIP's. When ever I take my time to knit more, ultimatively ma home gets messier/dirtier cause I do that less then.

Thank you Catherine! I'm so glad you're enjoying the videos so far!
The way I giggled when you pulled that oopsie sock onto the blocker. 😆 I love how you are using stash along with your advent.
You are such a joy to watch Rachel. I can't help but smile at your 'style" 😄 Keep on doing what you do! Looking forward to tomorrow's episode 👏
Thank you so much!!

What a great idea for vlogmas. And I would love to see you every day unboxing your yarn, looking for a matching skein and cranking your socks… 😃
Very interested in the sock machine!
as a loom knitter, i love seeing you use your knitting machine since it’s a mechanical version of what i do 😊

I love when I go to someone's home and it's messy, makes me feel less like a perpetual failure on the home keeping front:) lol
SOLIDARITY!
Love your glasses! They look great on you
Great fun to watch, Rachel. 😀
Thanks for watching!
Rachel! I love how real and authentic you are! My craft room and work spaces are COMPLETE CHAOS! Nonetheless I find joy in my making!
It's nice to know I’m not the only one with a messy craft room! 😂
I love your cranking sock idea with your advent!!
Thank you so much! Glad you're liking it!

CLEANING BUDDIES!!!
"You don't want to watch me sit at a sock cranking machine for 25 days" BET! These last two days have been VERY entertaining.
I am SO glad you're enjoying it! Who knew people would like this LOL
G’day Rachel, day off work yippee ‘watching YOU’ 🤣🍀🍀🍀🍀🎄🎄🎄🎄🇦🇺
💜💜💜
Your craft room cleaning reminds me of the panic clean I perform every time company is coming 😂
Omg yes 😂😂😂
Wonderful sweater you’re wearing. I love the cable raglans. Great color too. I’ve never seen that clever tool you used to ladder up.
Thank you so much! I am really happy with how the sweater turned out!

Thank you!! I didn’t know if people would enjoy this or not, so this is great to read! 🥰
Thanks for showing more information on the techniques of using your CSM. looking forward to more Crankin'😊
I am glad you are enjoying the process!
You are so lovely! Thank you
Thank you for watching! 💜
I have no idea what questions to ask about your sock machine, but I want to know more about it, so I appreciate you telling us random stuff, like how to adjust the tension and what to do when you drop a stitch!
Okay that’s good to know! I will keep including these tidbits then 💜
Such fun you are!
Thank you!
I really like the contrast cuff only look!
Yeah it’s growing on me!
They’re beautiful
Thank you!
I am also a member of the messy crafting area club and always have been!

My craft room is currently spread all over my dining room/living room floor...so you've got one up in me 😅
It's the big yearly reorganise this week
A big yearly reorganization sounds sooooo good!
Loooove!
I absolutely love this vlogmas!!! Could we do a big destash vlogmas/ yarn swap with scraps too? Or like organize a fun big swap
That would be so fun!
Loving your vlogmas. You always make my day brighter. I also have a csm machine. What type of machine do you have?
Thank you so much! That means a lot to me. My CSM is from Dean and Bean 💜
Buckle up Buttercup….love it lol
💺💺💺
I really like these with only the cuffs as the contrast!! Also, cranking socks looks like performing surgery sometimes lol
Yes like operation but make it crafty 😂
what is that sock machine?! That's so cool!!!! I've been considering investing in one.... >.> lol and peep the plant being slapped xD
I didn’t even realize the plant was being accosted until seeing your comment and another person’s. LOL! Oops! And my sock machine is from Dean and Bean!

I haven’t tried toe up yet! And yes I wrap the heels with the short row method 🥰
@rachelisknitting i also only do cuff down. When you are pushing needles down, you pull 2 up on 1 side and 1 down on the other and it creates the wrap for you
Is that actually a drill you are using to wind the yarn onto the cone? If so, that's genius.
Yes! It has a special attachment for winding cones!
Yes, I do……I do want to watch you crank socks every single day! It’s fascinating and relaxing.
I’m so glad!
What type of machine do you have?
I have a Dean and Bean circular sock machine 💜
Your poor planty-poo getting smacked by the yarn swift. Lol.
I did not even notice I was doing that until reading these comments 😂😂😂

I'm a messy knitter too! 😅
@rachelisknitting well it's eather knitting OR cleaning. I mean who has time for both, right?
