They do have large. Couple of medium that I tried was totally different size from each other, all medium. Try different sizes when you are there. Reminder also that slightly bigger is better as you can always stuff a napkin under the sweat band.
Is the material breathable enough for hot weather, or is it too thick and hot like a crushable wool hat? There is very little info online about this hat.
I must say that this hat is my most comfortable one. Its currently summer here in Qld and this hat is easier to wear than my other lined leather headband Akubras. I will be making a video regarding wearability in summer soon. Also buy your hats from an Australian website they normally easier to deal with regarding return etc. I had two hats now from Brisbane Hatter’s and they are a delight to deal with.
Wool is hot to wear. Akubra uses rabbit fur which is cooler than wool by quite a bit. Also much more durable. Note that Akubra's rabbit fur felt is a step or two above any other rabbit fur felt on the market yet their price is a step or two below. That's what makes them so great.
@@gobigrey9352 So have you worn it in hot weather yet? What's the scoop? I'm finding my Akubra Cattleman has been surprisingly breathable in mild heat, but I'm still waiting for my Avalon.
@@jefft724 , I don't have an Avalon but I would imagine it would be as cool or cooler than other felt Akubras. I wear fur felt year round. When it's stinking hot out, it's gonna be hot no matter what's on your head but I find lighter weight felts more comfortable in the heat. The Avalon sounds like a great choice for a summer felt.
Do you think its possible to change the hat Band? I like the usual hat band, but i like the hat band of the traveller more.
I have this hat. Dead easy to wear. Super soft and light but the felt is thick. Looks like hazelnut colouring
Is this hot hat because of it's thickness?
I'm on the low low end of a Large. 57.8 cm. Contemplating a medium. I don't want a loose hat. Does the Avalon run large in your opinion?

Also, it is a made to order hat and takes 45 days to receive one with no returns on most websites. So I can't just order one to take a closer look.

So what's the color of this hat?
