Be cautious/weary about dating men who describe their ideal type in physical terms only because no matter what, they will probably find fault with your apperance on a regular basis. I wish Korean guys knew what westerners mean when they say they are open minded. 😂 We're not saying we're easy. We're saying we are open to changing our minds. We'll consider compromising on our preferences with someone we're dating. Things like long distance relationships, beauty standards, food preferences, ect, we may say we have an ideal type, but we're not disappointed if we don't have those exact things. And because we're open minded, we're willing to try things that are out of our comfort zone. We may not like going outdoors but because we are open minded, if you take us on a date hiking, we won't complain and we'll genuinely try to have a good time. If we don't like spicy food, we will still try something spicy because you suggested it. We don't know Korean culture but we are open to learning whatever you tell us. This is what we're thinking about when you ask us if we're open minded. 😂 And if you want to date a westerner who says they are open minded, that usually means you should also be open minded with their prefrences. exactly this. we don't have an umbrella culture here where age is such a big deal or interracial relationships matter, etc... we are open to learning about what others like and hopefully finding new interests.we typically try new things and enjoy traveling. the US is so varied re types of people. even in my city alone you are going to find people are different. we don't dress a certain way just bc we're from a certain city. and even within friend groups, personality is so varied. my best friend is similar to me yet also so much my opposite. she's more bold in general but I'm outspoken when something matters to me. she wears a lot of color and I wear blue and grey often. we do both have colored hair but she's tall and blonde and curvy and I'm pretty petite but not without a figure. but we are basically soulmates, as friends. people get so hung up on looks in stricter cultures and that just isn't so much the case here. I'm also really interested in learning about other such cultures as we are a melting pot here. I'm czech and Irish but barely know my heritage. I would love to visit family in Prague. I'm interested in Asian cultures. I have friends from London. we have types but not necessarily ideal types. I personally can fall for someone who wouldn't necessarily be the most gorgeous, yet personality and heart make that person ridiculously good looking to me. we are more free to pursue what we want, not being held back by age, ideals, and standards. for the most part. of course there are communities that really care about things like that but we are more open minded in the ways mentioned. maybe i am speaking for myself and those I know but I have lived in 3 different states and even more cities, around so many types of people and I think closing off to people and ideas unlike yours is one of the worst choices a person can make. Anyone who are true are like that (or at least should). I had my preferences but since I don't care about it (because personnality can really change my view of the person before me) I tend to say I don't have any ideal type of men. And because you never know what kind of person you'll fall in love with next, anyone should say they are open minded then. Love isn't something you can control, it's something you feel.

If 2 guys in the US had said « I like white skin » they would be called racist and get roasted. I think many understand these 2 guys live in a homogeneous small country that has little diversity compared to the US, so they don’t see how what they’re saying is outrageous and can hurt people of color.

They want a high nose which is primarily a Caucasian trait, but also want thick/full lips which is primarily a trait of Black/Latina/Indian/mixed women (basically most of the races that are not white!). Most caucasian women do not have lips like Angelina Jolie naturally; they get botox injections to make them look plump/fuller. And this is not a diss by any means to caucasian women (I'm sure there are exceptions out there), I'm just sharing my opinion. I understand this is their preference and everyone is entitled to have it; but maybe just being a bit more open-minded may not hurt either because love is love at the end of the day.

Every person and culture is entitled to have preferences. When you say “white” it is an ultra general term. Europe is very diverse in looks and cultures. Light skin with blonde hair, blue eyes, and a high nose could be Nordic, Anglo Saxon (Germanic/English), or Russian/Eastern European. All have similar traits but can actually look quite different. You also have to take into account the American influence on South Korea.

Black people don't always have a good rep over in Korea, because of the stereotypes. And the White race is seen in a higher position or seen in a better view than those of African descent. So therefore, their preference is gonna be based on what they see most.
The asian perception of foreign women perpetuated by the media has to change, as well as the worlds view of asian men being exactly like the ones we see on korean dramas and movies. We ALL need to get to know each other outside the influence of a biased media.

Even the royals of the first united nations in Korean peninsula had half white dna from maternal side as they were the offsprings between Asian nomads and white Scuthian women.

Just seeing this in June 2022. When I was their age (late teens-early 20s)... my "ideal type" was tall (over 6 ft), blonde, and blue eyes. Three of my boyfriends looked like that. The man I married and am still with 30 years later is 5'9", dark brown hair, and has green eyes. I didn't end up with the others, because of their personalities and the fact that I was "too independent" for them. My husband loves me exactly the way I am and has never expected me to change. The moral of this story... we THINK we know our "ideal type" until we encounter who really works for us!! Love yourself for who you are, and you WILL find your true ideal mate!!

I think the main thing I took from this video is that the title has nothing to do with the video. It’s supposed to tell us how we know when a korean man likes you... and they just pointed out their specific type. I don’t think they wanted it to come across that all Korean men have this type (hence when he said I like white people... I as in only him). I wish Korean guys knew what westerners mean when they say they are open minded. 😂 We're not saying we're easy. We're saying we are open to changing our minds. We'll consider compromising on our preferences with someone we're dating. Things like long distance relationships, beauty standards, food preferences, ect, we may say we have an ideal type, but we're not disappointed if we don't have those exact things. And because we're open minded, we're willing to try things that are out of our comfort zone. exactly this. we don't have an umbrella culture here where age is such a big deal or interracial relationships matter, etc... we are open to learning about what others like and hopefully finding new interests.we typically try new things and enjoy traveling. the US is so varied re types of people. even in my city alone you are going to find people are different. we don't dress a certain way just bc we're from a certain city. and even within friend groups, personality is so varied. my best friend is similar to me yet also so much my opposite. she's more bold in general but I'm outspoken when something matters to me. she wears a lot of color and I wear blue and grey often. we do both have colored hair but she's tall and blonde and curvy and I'm pretty petite but not without a figure. but we are basically soulmates, as friends. people get so hung up on looks in stricter cultures and that just isn't so much the case here. I'm also really interested in learning about other such cultures as we are a melting pot here. I'm czech and Irish but barely know my heritage. I would love to visit family in Prague. I'm interested in Asian cultures. I have friends from London. we have types but not necessarily ideal types. I personally can fall for someone who wouldn't necessarily be the most gorgeous, yet personality and heart make that person ridiculously good looking to me. we are more free to pursue what we want, not being held back by age, ideals, and standards. for the most part. of course there are communities that really care about things like that but we are more open minded in the ways mentioned. maybe i am speaking for myself and those I know but I have lived in 3 different states and even more cities, around so many types of people and I think closing off to people and ideas unlike yours is one of the worst choices a person can make. I had my preferences but since I don't care about it (because personnality can really change my view of the person before me) I tend to say I don't have any ideal type of men. They want a high nose which is primarily a Caucasian trait, but also want thick/full lips which is primarily a trait of Black/Latina/Indian/mixed women (basically most of the races that are not white!). Most caucasian women do not have lips like Angelina Jolie naturally; they get botox injections to make them look plump/fuller. And this is not a diss by any means to caucasian women (I'm sure there are exceptions out there), I'm just sharing my opinion. I understand this is their preference and everyone is entitled to have it; but maybe just being a bit more open-minded may not hurt either because love is love at the end of the day.

Light skin with blonde hair, blue eyes, and a high nose could be Nordic, Anglo Saxon (Germanic/English), or Russian/Eastern European. All have similar traits but can actually look quite different. You also have to take into account the American influence on South Korea.

I may have white skin, blonde hair and blue green eyes but I’m a mixture of korean, Latina, Nordic, Spanish, and native. I have a high bridge nose, good figure, bubble butt and full lips 🫦 What they describing is someone who is mixed it seems like. i think they like latinas because umm, they are generally curvier? than the average white women ( there's alot of nice curved white women too, but generally latina have it in their gene). It's something you don't see in Asia usually, so they are obviously drawn to things they don't have.

Just seeing this in June 2022. When I was their age (late teens-early 20s)... my "ideal type" was tall (over 6 ft), blonde, and blue eyes. Three of my boyfriends looked like that. The man I married and am still with 30 years later is 5'9", dark brown hair, and has green eyes. I didn't end up with the others, because of their personalities and the fact that I was "too independent" for them. My husband loves me exactly the way I am and has never expected me to change. The moral of this story... we THINK we know our "ideal type" until we encounter who really works for us!! Love yourself for who you are, and you WILL find your true ideal mate!!

I'm African American and I don't find black guys attractive. I'm more into Asian, white and latino men. As a westener my first impression would be that they are gay reason being that they are very pretty & the hair styles are nice but too fussy for a straight alpha male. That would probably change after meeting them though. Korean men & western men can't be compared, genetically they are worlds apart. As a British woman I am from Scandinavian heritage, many generations back, I am tall, blonde & blue eyes with very pale skin but my preference in men is east asian. A lot of people find this very strange but I couldn't care less. I think the main thing I took from this video is that the title has nothing to do with the video. It’s supposed to tell us how we know when a korean man likes you... and they just pointed out their specific type. I don’t think they wanted it to come across that all Korean men have this type (hence when he said I like white people... I as in only him). I’m not sure how they put this all together, but it sadly came across for most women on here that “Korean men like white, skinny blondes” which is not true 🙄 I’m not a fan of how this video was put together, but I feel no personal attacks from these men and neither should the women viewing it, because everyone has their own preference.
