I completely agree with you on All Systems Red. I couldn't finish, even as a novella. It's so refreshing to know some one out there didn't like it as well.
I DNF'd Shadow of the Gods. So much was happening, so many random characters and storylines... A hundred pages in I still had no idea what the book was supposed to be about.
Tbh I’ve never gotten the hate around Storm Front. It’s actually a favorite fantasy first novel for me. 😂😂😂 I’m assuming since so many people disagree with me that something’s wrong with me rather than public opinion.
Don't get me wrong I like Stormfront I just think it's probably the weakest of the series. Would love to have you come join the Discord. discord.com/invite/dMNTSk2Y
Number 5, "Quite possibly the worst book I've ever read..." Continues to talk about it. "But, number 4..." Wait...what the hell was number 5?! You never said what it was. I went back and watched that part 5 times trying to figure out what was going on, thought I'd lost my mind. Check out your review of it? Your review of what?
The Wheel of Time. It's bad on a technical level. Going back an reading it as an adult was frustrating. And sure, the entire series desperately needed an editor and could be cut down by half if you just removed all the "women tugging their braids" references. But there is a good idea there, if it just was concentrated a bit.
While I am not yet done with the Dark Tower series, I can confidently say The Gunslinger IS, in fact, a pretty bad book. Not a bad story, but the writing is atrocious in places, not at all up to King's standard. He uses 'flyingly' as an adjective, FFS! He himself acknowledges this in the foreword to the revised editions, and apparently that one is much better due to the extra content. The OG version, though? 3/5 at best, more like a 2/5. But without it, we would not have The Drawing of Three (my favourite of the series so far) or any of the others.
List needs Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone. One of only two ACTUAL kids' books (AKA for elementary schoolers) in one of the best fantasy series ever.

Great video JR! The Gunslinger is definitely on my list lol. I’m glad I continued the series though. I enjoyed All Systems Red.

Sorry possibly miss edit, Iron Widow
Iron Widow by Xiran Jay Zhao. He only said the name of the sequel Heavenly Tyrant.
For me the worst Dresden Files was Blood Rites, by a lot. Storm Front was a lot better for me.
I could definitely see blood rites being low on the list. You should join the discord!

@@J.R.Carrel Oooh, the best is yet to come for you, then. You're about to read one of the greatest fantasy books of all time!
