Do I need to swap the bcm out for one that has power windows wired every thing already getting power and all but the switches aren’t making the windows go down and my truck a 99 base so the bcm probably don’t have the power windows
Anyone know what posible could have happened to my truck, it’s been like 8-9 months since doing this conversion and there hasn’t really been any issues except for a loose wire I didn’t properly splice that prevented the windows from going up and down. I went back and made sure all the wires are connected well. About a month ago the truck doesn’t want to start anymore, when I turn the key there’s no clicking of the engine, no noise, nothing. Everything else works fine when I turn the key: doors go up and down, lock and unlock, radio turns on, dome and door lights turn on, as well as the headlights. I thought it was the starter so I swapped that out and still nothing. So I went to the auto shop to test out the battery which is an optima yellow top and the tech said the battery is fine, still has 12v. My dad had a mechanic stop by but I was working when he came so I’m not too sure what he did but he got the truck to start some other way. So the truck can start, I just don’t know what is preventing it from starting. Any help is appreciated!
Hey bro just wanted to let you know that I got it to work! I seen someone else say they couldn’t get their truck to turn on and all it was was the green wire wasn’t connected properly so I went back and seen that my dumbass didn’t splice the green wire all the way through so I went back and spliced it with the right size and it turned on instantly!
If I do this on my 2005 Silverado regular cab, would front doors from an extended or crew cab truck fit mine? Or the mechanism from those doors? I don’t even know what a BCM is, but would a regular cab’s with power windows one be best for my truck? This computer controlled stuff on newer than 1985 vehicles is so confusing to me. I’d probably have to order everything from eBay or GM anyway. It’s probably not affordable for me, but it’s sure interesting to know it’s possible. I’ve seen some videos on universal kits to give me power windows and locks that are probably more affordable for me right now. Thanks for your instructional video, great job on what you had to figure out how to do yourself. What you’ve done is exactly what I wish I could do. Enjoy your power windows and locks. Edit: I read some more comments and learned that the engine from a donor truck must be the same. Mine is a 5.3, but what does “drive by wire” mean?
Yes doors from any extended cab or crew cab will fit just fine if you look up bcm (body control module) on google you’ll easily see what it is and I would not recommend buying anything aftermarket I got everything from a donor which is all oem and you can easy go to a local junk yard and get these parts for cheap

One more question boss, does the bcm have to be from the same chassis truck. Mine is a 2500 I’m trying to do the swap on. The wiring and bcm I got was from a gasser Denali yukon. Could I still use it to do this swap?
the wiring will work but i’m not sure about the bcm you can try it but i’m not sure if it’s compatible it might have to be from a truck
@@Henrylxt thank you so much boss man, fixing to see if it’s possible to Tun this one, if the truck doesn’t turn on after the reprogram test I could always but the original one back right?
What cables do you need to lower down the passenger window from the driver’s side, I have a 2004 chevy Silverado single cab
The brown thin wire connect it to your bcm
Hey bro after you did the conversion did your airbag light turn on? Lmk because mine did and I was trying to see if I can get rid of it. Great vid btw! 👍🏼
appreciate it bro🦾 but my airbag light was already on before i even did the conversion
@christianSanchez-In6pu did you figure out a solution to the air bag light being on?
Best video on this. Did you figure out how to make them faster? I did mines but they’re super slow.
have not been able to figure out how to make them faster
If you haven’t gotten it to work faster yet, I’d suggest buying new window regulator/motor assemblies, and make sure the track the window slides in is clean and not pinched. The regulators commonly fail in these trucks
i did this but my door panel light won’t turn off even when the door is shut , how can i fix this ?
did you change the bcm?
Did you ever get a key fob to connect to it ?
yes the key fob does work
hey bro i did an electric conversion and i dont a bcm and my truck keeps on draining my battery because everything stays on when the truck is off if i get the other bcm will it fix that
Yes if you change your bcm it will fix that
Ok found the 12v constant, passenger side window works, do i need to swap bcms to make the driverside work?
if you connected everything right both sides should work once you connect them all together the bcm is for your locks to work and for keyless entry with a fob
@@Henrylxt got it all working, thanks for the help 👍

Can you just swap doors? I need my truck repainted so color won’t be an issue for me
yes you can do that as well a lot easier
Which red wire did you splice into, there is 2 of same gauge
yes splice onto it don’t cut it and check and see which one has constant 12v even when truck is off
what wires will i need to get? do i need the harness from the dash as well?
you won’t need the dash harness
Have your figured out why the turn signal stay on the passenger side or don’t work
i haven’t yet
after you switched the bcm, did you still have to splice the green wires? also, what did you connect to make the locks move? i know you connected the bcm but did you also add actuators? i’ve been searching for months on how to do this with oem parts and you answered almost all questions ive been looking for.
edit: also what did you splice the motor wires to (the ones you put on the battery to check if they worked)
The green wire is is spliced with a wire that connects with the brown small wire from your driver side even i you change your bcm you still have to do it also I didn’t splice no wire to no actuators or motor everything is connected with the oem plugs
@@Henrylxt so how were the locks able to move?
@@nathan.q15 with the new bcm I put from the crew cab I didn’t have to splice anything they should just work automatically once you add the new bcm

i heard this method won’t work for 99-02
Does the door power turn on now that you changed the bcm as well?
yes it does
Anyone know what posible could have happened to my truck, it’s been like 8-9 months since doing this conversion and there hasn’t really been any issues except for a loose wire I didn’t properly splice that prevented the windows from going up and down. Any help is appreciated!
not sure what it could be i’ve had mine for around 2 years never had any problems since i did the swap
Hey bro just wanted to let you know that I got it to work! I seen someone else say they couldn’t get their truck to turn on and all it was was the green wire wasn’t connected properly so I went back and seen that my dumbass didn’t splice the green wire all the way through so I went back and spliced it with the right size and it turned on instantly!
well i’m glad to see you got it to work lmk if you need any help with anything else
For the body control module what do u need is it just the box or the cables

When you shift into reverse or drive do the doors automatically lock?

Oh and do you think you can get a remote now?
Do I need to have the matching bcm to the wiring and harness?
Like from the same truck?
it don’t have to be the same year as long as it’s power windows and locks
Drive by wire means instead of a linkage, say for a throttle, you have the electronic throttle control. That's an example of part of it.
