At 10:19 you were pointing towards a second gangway and were querying were it went. Until being withdrawn, DFDS ran a second ferry to Kristiansand and Gothenburg (also had a 3-day mini-cruise). In those days, the Amsterdam ferry left from that second gangway and the Gothenburg ferry left from where you boarded, but an hour later.
Thanks for letting me know, yes I briefly remember that now you mention it…. As I personally thing the 2 night mini cruise is not long enough only having a few hours in Holland.
What a great idea…very useful for those of us maybe considering it…and doing a separate channel for family and trips etc is a great idea…and be brave Holly and go for it…Oh by the way Dan, in technical terms…the front of the ship is called the pointy end…😂

Great vlog! Hoping to work this ferry trip into my Sept/Oct trip to Europe from the US. Will be based in Strasbourg France for 2 months but planning to take many side trips and this ferry journey sounds amazing, and affordable. Beautiful family❤

Really good video Dan which takes me back. Along with my Bro, family and friends (all male) did same mini cruise 6 years ago for his stag do.....well it turned into just a 'do' as wedding was called off just beforehand, but that's another story! It was called the 'ska cruise' as North East ska band 'the Skatoons' played onboard both evenings. As you experienced, it was incredible value and food was amazing....and thankfully it was like a mill pond both ways, much to my relief as I'd been dreading it as I can suffer terrible sea sickness.
Yes it was much better than I remember it 10 years previously….. but heck if you get a bad crossing it’s hell, we were lucky the week after my mate went and they were all sea sick, nothing worse. Thanks for watching 👍🏼
Nice video ! Our daughter is takuing this trip in a couple of weeks and is certainly looking forward to it. She managed to get a great offer in the recent DFDS sale .. About £25 for the two nights, plus transfers to/from Amsterdam, as well as breakfast on the journey out. I wish I was going too, but my pasport has expired .. maybe next year ! Maybe she'll pre-book dinner too after watching this
Not my usual thing recording travel vlogs, mainly car related…. But I’m pleased this video has helped so many people. Fantastic trip I will say, would be nicer to have longer in Holland, and the only down side is the North Sea can be brutal at times. Thanks for watching 👍🏼

I don’t really think there is a time limit so to speak, you have an entry time but never see anyone been asked to leave as it’s a buffet style restaurant

Yes it does get vert dry in the cabin , especially with 4 people sharing.

Just a tip. A cabin in the bows is just about the worst place to be in rough weather. Best place to be is low down and centre of the ship.

You can take anything you like onboard, just not alcohol.
