Solid advice for kiyan. Nothing wrong coming outta college after 2-4 years. Alot of those older players coming out of college now are finding early success in the league and play their roles extremely well.
Tell these scouts to start drafting juniors and seniors instead of picking these 18 year old international players. A lot of them get benefits of doubt because they played pro since 15, but it should go both ways!
I wish Kiyan the best, along with Alijah Arenas. They’re really good players for their age and I love Melo and Gil’s approach to developing their son’s skills.
Listening to this just shows me how out of this world talented the top nba players like Melo himself are . Like damn u have these well touted kids from different high schools thinking they’re the shit and they get to college and find out like how intense and elite these programs are .
In order to even be considered for the draft, the player has to be an elite athlete with better than exceptional skills that are consistent and able to operate at a high level with no injuries. You have to be BETTER THAN JUST GOOD.
Melo watching this Bronny situation and saying yea take yo time and develop because your my son all the talent gonna come at you nightly till your ready. Great advice don’t rush greatness!
I think I realized how hard it was to make it to the NBA when And1 mixtapes came out. Some of those guys were really good but only like Rafer Alston made the league the rest struggled to get try outs.
Alimoe and AO had NBA talent they just could never adapt to being pros. Partying and the street life claimed those dudes from having an actual basketball career 🤷🏼♂️
I realized how hard it was to make it to the league when my brother who was an elite ball player coming out of highschool, 6'10, strong as an ox AND played 4 years at a major school in the ACC and he still didn't make it to the league. Or my sister who actually was a McDonald's all American, won state championships, also played for a major school in ghe ACC, actually got drafted to the WNBA and STILL didn't make it to the league smh. Ish is literally like winning the lottery.
I obviously am hoping to Kiyan comes to Syracuse, but at the end of the day I'll be happy wherever he goes because that kid is the real deal and he's going to make his own legacy 🏀
Carmelo Anthony said all the right things about Kiyan Anthony. Spending a couple of years in college will only help Kiyan Anthony be better in many aspects.

Bron and melo didnt come from a wealthy family, but they kids do the grind is different.Their kids have opportunities they didnt have so hunger for it may not be the same.
I dont think thats the main factor. Bronny and Kiyan are just not that tall, so everything is 100x harder for them. Were also in a different era where stats are super important and teams are looking for role players. At that height, you have to be a point guard so your options are already limited.
@@Timur21they're both 6'4...lol decent height to play both guard positions (some are playing small forward at this height)... people always write off the fact that they couldn't make the NBA because"they weren't tall enough" when for a lot of ballers this just isn't true....plenty of 6'7 and above guys who didn't make the league either
@@Haywood_Basketball It’s just a fact that it’s much harder to get into the league at 6’4, which usually is more like 6’2 or 6’3 lol.. If Bronny was 6’7 there would be much less doubt about him getting into the league..
3:30 this nugget about the WNBA is facts. It’s a sad time when your league can’t even sign its 1st round draft picks due to the lack of available roster spots
He talkin bout that guy “Gerald Honeycutt” he was a monster at Tulane I’m talkin 20sum and 10boards a night, and he didn’t get a sniff……💯 and he was one of them 6’10 dudes that shot the three ball…..back then
As good as I think he is,and I do believe he's going to be on the main roster, but emoni bates kind 9f learning this now. Once he develops a role, he's going to be a major player for the cavs.
I hope you read this melo but check me out you and your son should remake the movie he got game frfr like the whole thing same version just a remake and use you family like lala and your son being Jesus and you play the father (Denzel)
Melo with a deadass brilliant point - look at RJ Hampton and compare his career arc to Jamie Jaquez Jr. both play on the Heat, took RJ 3 teams to settle in and find a role while out the gate in his rookie year JJJ is looking like he can be in the league for at least 10 years. We've skipped building the foundation to get kids in the NBA sooner because it's cheaper for the owners and has financial outcomes for those at lower levels
Bro compared wade son to lebron and Carmelo bro I think we all knew ziare not making it watch bro highlights he not all that my humble opinion 💯 bronny and melo son clear him they going to go crazy in the league

The quality of the Game will get better. You good, actually more than good, but if you think about it Detlef Schremph played in the finals against Jordan and the Bulls, you didn't even get to the finals.
Melo is 100% correct, it's very difficult to make it to the league. I say the NBA is the toughest league to get into followed by MLB due to the minor league system.
League is a joke compared to what it used to be. It used to be much more difficult to get into, especially for foreign players. Can’t “let” him do anything if bronny doesn’t even want to be in college.
I was thinking the same thing this should be Brons approach
Lebron didn't want him to be a basketball player at first. Bronny chose that. I think lebron is smart enough to know not to rush it
