- Last year's terror attacks have reignited the conflict between Israel and another Iran-backed militant group: Hezbollah, in Lebanon. The group has now struck the Israeli port of Haifa with missiles for the first time. Israel has responded with airstrikes near the airport in Beirut, which is now operating at severely limited capacity.
The Israeli army said it targeted a southern Beirut suburb described as a Hezbollah stronghold. Large plumes of smoke could be seen billowing from the area. Lebanese security sources said at least two missiles struck a few kilometers from the airport.

I have a Questions please help me 1. Why would a country have a national military and another group of military such as hamas and Hesbolla 2. Why would UN fail to implement resolution 1701. 3. Why would UN continue to patrol an area that has rebels and fail to dismantle them. 4. Is the UN Benefiting from this groups.
The militia is performing some interest for certain people.
Both Lebanese government and UN benefits from those groups since they can't do what they are doing by themselves.they use those groups as a shield

I believe the military term for what Israel is doing in Lebanon is called "softening the target". If Israel can win this war without invading Lebanon en mass, they will. If they end up having to invade, the hardened targets of Hezbollah will have been greatly degraded. Classic warfare tactics.

This is a heavy lift for Israel. Super heavy lift. If they can see it through, it'll def improve their position. But by gawd! It is a heck of a lift. SMH.
It's quite realistic to assume that Israel has, and can employ neutron bombs in an attack against Iran. This kind of attack would physically destroy a much smaller area such as what a one kiloton warhead would cause; however, the radiation would be many times more significant against human tissue as a whole. The reoccupation of an attacked area would be much sooner than any conventional nuclear warhead and given that a neutron bomb is a thermonuclear warhead, or a fusion warhead, the actual effect would be quite significant. These forms of thermonuclear warheads have been around since at the latest, 1963. They were initially tested and demonstrated in 1958 to have the significant effect that was desired as to the inception of these weapons, and it's very likely that countries that have nuclear and thermonuclear warheads would also have Neutron bomb warheads; obviously including Israel.

Were it not for the protection of the arm forces, many governments would not dare ignore or oppose the will of the people on whose behalf they weild power. Especially on moral issues, a government elected by the majority should abide by the clearly stated will of the said majority. That's the essence, the true meaning of democracy.
Therefore, when a government either seeks to do the bidding of another government or is hamstrung by that other government or interest groups, the people then should have the power to summarily remove that government since it's not acting in the interest of the citizenry. And that's my take!

Last year Netanyahu was on TV saying they'll destroy all of hamas quickly. It's been one year. Hamas is still there. And rockets are flying in to tel aviv which never happened before.
