We made it to our next destination, Curacao and the colors of the buildings is what blew me away, the story as to why, even further. We got to taste the famous Blue Curacao & visit a herbalist. Traveling on the Royal Caribbean 'Explorer of the Seas' has been so fun and relaxing, especially using the sauna to start the day, and visiting the Caribbean islands and their subtle similarities, an interest.

That’s because curaçao was used more as a slave port by the Dutch (place where the captured enslaved where bought and sold and then sent off to other islands once sold) They kept a smaller population of enslaved Africans. Remember also they a close to South American (Venezuela) so a large percentage of their demographics would be from South America. (A long with Dutch, Afro decent, Awarak etc) Everything won’t be the same throughout the Caribbean we share similar culture, food, music, history (All unique in there own way) It is good to keep an open mind when travelling, it is a big world out there. We travel to learn and to have interesting and beautiful experiences. There has to be Curiosity to experience something different. If it is great then that is a win, if it is less than - one gos home being grateful for the experience. The more you travel the more your mind will expand. (Right now you are doing what most inexperience travellers do, and that is to compare everything you see to your homeland) Looking for familiarity (comforting ground) is to be expected but also be more open minded to experiencing life and all it has to offer.
I loved this comment. So much info, and yes I often compare things to my homeland for my Jamaican viewers as similarities always comforts a travel ‘the good similarities’ however, I’m always open to experiencing new things hence why I travel away from home, to learn more. People are different but yet, the same. One love
@@SOAIVLOGS I LOVE PEOPLE THAT HAVE AN OPEN MIND. U COULD HAVE TAKEN OFFENSE. THANKS.
@@SOAIVLOGS Enjoy your travels. (You’ll be amazed by what’s right outside your door step) (Door step being the Caribbean) We are more similar than different and share many common foods, music and culture.
…A lot of the enslaved Africans in curaçao were sold off to islands such as Haiti, Jamaica and surrounding islands. They also brought salves over from Brazil. A-lot of the vegetation is pretty much the same throughout the Caribbean (breadfruit, yam, cassava, edo, fruits, etc. they May have different names for some fruits and vegetables but it’s the same thing) and the staple diet is similar. Every island has something truly amazing to offer. The smaller the island, quieter the life.
Nice response ibby ….I am Jamaican and I love when you compare as I can relate and understand different cultures even more through your eyes …love yuh ❤️❤️❤️❤️
@@TheLattex25sometimes I forget people on these platforms just love starting mess. In what other way should he respond🤔 (In what way does his statement need defending or clarification) my comments were in no way to offend nor did I say nothing he didn’t say himself😒 his comparisons where not negative and I did say most people do this to find comforting ground when travelling (It sometimes help people to relax) but also comparing can have the opposite effect, where it doesn’t allow one to have a open experience and you can’t expect everything to be the same as where you are from. (If you do that you will never truly experience the true beauty of where you are) That is the great thing about travelling it opens your mind and shows you that we are far more similar then we are different but also our differences make us unique. Also it should help one appreciate more of where they are from and what they have.
Stephen I always use a taxi 🚕when I cruise, they can take you to the same places that the excursions take you for a lot less.
The ABC islands cool...I always prefer to move like the locals whenever I cruise, excursions is good for some people but not all, like to me going to that herbal place is good but as you say these same herbs are in Jamaica and you'll grow up taking or drinking them for healing...Like when I went to Curacao I was more interested in going on that moving bridge...and shopping, eating and just enjoying the island vibes with the music.
I enjoy the trade wind bending the trees in Aruba. To be inside a building looking out, it as if a hurricane is bending the trees in the calmness of the winds. Glad you two are enjoying.
Aruba is beautiful I stayed there for a week we were all over the island just beautiful I will be going back soon

youre right if you go to the turist places you will see a lot of dutch poeple or a few poeple from the us but if you go where the locals are going you wil find more local poeple black people sinds 2010 dutch has full power over bonaire there are poeple fighting right now to get it back, if you chek bonaire on the map you wont see it as bonaire you wil see it as kralendijk thats the capital when you send the flag on whatsap fb instagram you will not see our flag but the dutch flag it breaks my heart but i hope we can win it back just like curacao and aruba they still get help from netherlads but they have the power to do what they want .
Wow! Thanks for this deep insight, I’ve learnt somewhat about the powers that be in each country but this comment has give further details. I will return to Bonaire and get to meet the people, I’m really not interested in the touristic areas though they are nice to see.
