Hello everyone! Three points to address: 1. I have added chapters (divided by year) to the timeline. 2. I have been informed that I missed some pre-stream information about Jerma voice acting in some newgrounds videos around 2005. I blew it. 3. I have read every single comment and am honestly blown away at the incredible positive reception this video got, and have already started work on my next timeline video. thank you all so much.
this video is great but dont feel pressured to make another timeline video because it was popular, editing and research like this are awesome for any topic
Can you tell me the name of the show that jerma voiced a fake AI? I think it was a recent G4 thing with a bunch of other streamers. I saw a clip show of it on RUclips a while back but I can’t find it anymore. There’s zero information online about it as far as any of the fan wikis go. It was revealed at the end of the show where he crawls out of this box that’s been present the whole time that was part of the “computer.” Do you know what I’m talking about?
I’m still so curious about how many students that Jerma taught for are aware of his current shenanigans. Imagine looking back at your school years around 2006 and realizing that for a day or two, you may have been taught by the SUS Guy
jerma is SUCH a good actor it’s wild. him pretending to be angry in the christmas stream was REALLY GOOD…he’s also just so kindhearted and considerate of others too when he isn’t acting. on top of all that, he’s so hilarious man! couldn’t come up with a better guy. you can just tell he has nothing except the best intentions, and just wants to bring a smile onto peoples face. in a world where things keep seeming more dull, jerma keeps that hope going with how positive he is
one small tidbit that's probably barely worth mentioning, but in the early 2000s he was also making attempts at getting into voice acting, posting in the newgrounds forums, he has one credited role in a flash animation on the site
Seeing jerma become big was amazing to witness. I was there to witness it all and be a part of the community. It all peaked with the dollhouse stream for me.
I agree wholeheartedly. I think what peaked for me, albeit sorta not a specific, is whenever he’s one other streams or other streamers recognize his brilliance without him being brought up prior. He’s awesome he’s getting some recognition for his hard work!
i started with him in like 2017 and even that feels late to the game (tho i loved castle griffinstein as a one off before that). even seeing his rise from that era til now has been exciting and mind blowing. the people who were here since his TF2 days are like gods to me
Damn this made me cry, especially the last part. I arrived into this fandom a bit late, and hes already packing his bags for bigger and better things 😭 hes gonna do so much more good. God bless this man.
dude i saw the title of this video and thought "no way someone made an entire video of jerma, probs some weird parasocial guy." But holy fuck was I wrong, sat through this whole video and was entertained the entire time. PLEASE, keep up the good work, this is so well made!
I’ve been watching Jerma for years, since before the SUSGUY meme. I genuinely believe him to be the funniest person to ever walk the face of the Earth. If I ever feel down, Jerma cheers me up. Dude’s a hero.
I've been watching Jerma pretty much entirely through RUclips since 2020ish and I was fascinated. Saw a short doc about how he's an "anti-streamer" in the sense that he didn't quite do things the way everyone else did. There's so much content when it comes to streamers that it's hard to keep up or research, so this is rad! Great attention to detail in your editing here too!
I only got introduced to Jerma about a year before his soft retirement. He seems like a great guy, and I love his real moments with chat, like the last clip you included. Fantastic video!
always wanted something like this as a long time viewer i LOVE jerma and the idea of making something like this crossed my mind on occasion. thank you for finally doin git, i shall munch on this video in delight. i hope it pops off!
CRIMINALLY underviewed video, I've always considered myself pretty knowledgeable with jerma, I've been watching him religiously for the past 3 years. Even git his dollhouse youtooz! I've learned quite a lot of jerma lore from this!! Keep up the great work, man!!
I can imagine the great amount of work that went into this, and I have to say it doesn’t go unappreciated that your commentary is so concise. You did a fantastic job of making the overview of Jerma’s content history shine without distracting with too much colorful commentary nor making it seem like a glorified Jerma clip compilation. The only thing I’d say to bring in more viewers is make things more stylized, and make use of your channels iconic elements more. Had so much fun going on this Jerma985 journey again!
I have no doubt that with this videos quality it will get the attention it deserves. As someone who is put off by other streamers Jerma just has a such a welcoming prescence. However I joined the Jerma party relatively late and missed some the early years besides maybe the infamous seaman stream. So besides watching cheltie videos this is a great way to catch up with our favorite psycho, handsome, old man streamer.
Here before 100 billion views. This video was an emotional Rollercoaster. It's amazing to watch him grow and age throughout this video. That speech at the end got me really emotional. Thank you for making this video and never stop creating. ❤❤
He’s such a creative person, I love that about him, I truly wish him the best with everything in his future. He seems like such a genuine guy who loves creating and sharing his work with others and making them happy, I hope Jerma knows he’s made many people happy over the years.
The Bugleberry hot tub stream showed Jerma Catboy, but they've been a reorcurring character since Nov. 27th, 2020, when Dragooner19's fan art showed up during the fan art BRB that was used at the time. Just Finn's art is also credited as the first version a few places like a fan wiki, but I know that Finn, me and novocain all drew our own verions due to Dragooner19's art. If I recall, the 2020 Jerma Rumble was what canonized them into the real Jermaverse.
anyways i love jerma. he’s such a good person man, he makes me really happy. he truly is a special guy we shouldn’t take for granted. it’s been amazing to have him.
thank you for bringing us through jerma’s past!!! i found him around 3 years ago now, but honestly i haven’t seen any of his older content past 2017. super interesting & kind of emotional watching this strange guy grow.
I think jerma is mad deserves a mention, it’s one of the defining moments in jerma history, since it changed his persona from a kinda family-friendly channel to uncensored jerma
jerma eventually going on to collab with huge names like moistcritical, ludwig and hasan just due to being a likable and talented guy who not only has a big audience in his own right but also is just fun to work with, and really not any of the "clout chasing" we've come to see is really remarkable special and fun. feels good man
I truly cant believe this appeared on my recommends with less than 1k views. I'm only a handful of minutes in but this already seems incredibly well researched and presented. I've been a jerma fan since his transition to Twitch and youve already dug up a lot of info even I didn't know. Assuming this quality keeps up, this will be the perfect resource to send to friends who like jerma but worry there's "too much lore" to actively get into his content. Keep up the good work, and looking forward to this video going places ❤
i found jerma back in 2014 and been with his content since. there really isn't anybody else like him. jerma and his chat and legitimately the funniest internet users to ever grace the hell that is life on earth. nobody could do jermas job like jeremy elbertson does
its so interesting to see his old content and just how hes almost exactly the same from a decade ago. Just the way he is just goddamn naturally absurd and funny
I'm not somebody who comments often but just wanted to say how well put together and high quality this video was, SO so impressed dude. watched the entire thing LOL so stoked to see what else you come up with!! much love 🙏
I thought this was going to be one of those icerberg videos that starts with "liked by many" and ends with "here are the coordinates of his victims' graves" type of timeline. Guess today is not the day for justice. Cool video tho.
ngl man Im only 2 minutes in and this is already both informative and hilarious. I jumped in to the community after the Dollhouse, which I know brought in a lot of new viewers like me. Never left since! This guy is just too damn funny. Watching his massive backlog of content when bored is a great way to pass time, there is always something out there I havent seen yet that still holds up comedically. edit: finished! What a lovely video, thank you for making it!
Putting all the “he isn’t real” and “he’s mentally ill unstable etc etc” behind I think Jerma really is an interesting and talented dude and I’m glad you made this video

Of course I got to know and recognize Jerma as his own creature. He's all our specimen to observe, so I'm glad we get vitamin Elberson in our lives.
I remember having my mind blown when on a lark i asked chat gpt to tell me about jerma's bio and it said his last name was Henderson. I went down a rabbit hole of finding out that Elbertson might not be his real last name- it had never even crossed my mind that Jeremy Elbertson could be a stagename considering he already had Jerma 😂
There are some key moments linked to his girlfriends, but it was a good idea not to include it even though Kim and Holly were key players in one of his many crazy dream stories.

I’ve been a big fan of Jerma’s content for a while, but had never seen his story so clearly laid out like this before. Thanks for making this amazing documentary, and happy new year! 🎉
1:46:50 man this made me so happy cause i really wanted to see jerma find his way into a more traditional office job for the years he might be trying to make time for family or live a more normal 9-5 life when the streaming lifestyle gets too exhausting. my ideal is after being retired for a few decades he surprises everyone by volunteer hosting a PBS style kids show on twitch so all the ipad babies can have something educational to watch. before finally retiring from the workforce for real. i've always wanted to see jerma do some steve blues clues / mr rogers / bill nye sh*t i think he'd be good at it
