i think their strategy is to kill off the painter and make the hunter paranoid that there will be a rescue if they leave the chair, which helps cipher progression. there was already 1 cipher left when the painter died which is pretty good since no one else saw the chair

i think they wanted painter to take first kite because seer is a stronger character for end game (rechargeable owls), but also, they use this strategy because it's huan. he's very hit or miss, but when huan does good with painter he really is incredible. when he was ranking with alex on stream he 4 cipher kited either xc or dx, but there are also matches where he gets hit 3 times in 15 seconds as merc... there's also that chinatown game where yuan's embalmer got chaired at 150% total cipher progress but rebounded for more than a minute against dx's full presence ivy (ended in 3 escape) so with painter taking kite you either try for 4 escape (wbg loves that) or one out lol
i agreeeee with what u said during the lakeside dong x match, about you cant determine whether or not you’re a good player based on simply kites. with this game, it will always depend on something, whether it be the map, area, hunter, teammate support, etc. like, not to be egotistical or anything (though i am basically isagi yoichi..) i believe i’m a good player. i do good kites often, good rescues, and i know i have good game sense cuz i’ve been playing for 4 years now. i’ve hit peak tier, and while all of that is good and all, i still flop so heavily. if it’s an area i’m not confident it? best believe i’m going down in under 60 secs🥰sculptor camp? sold! literallt any wheel match because the game sense required for those is Literally too much? Bye i’m surrendering. i think if anything what makes you a good vs bad player is consistency, despite still all in all relying on in game circumstances. even then i feel like i can’t say that because your skill level in this game will always match the hunter if that makes any sense? if you’re worker bee of course you’re gonna get destroyed by mid tier players, while if you’re a champion getting beat by a croc it may be embarrassing , but it could always be a traded/bought acc and such things like that. oh damn sorry for yap session, i just rlly like the takes so far:)
