People always make Chara the bad guy but just remember this: Chara loves monsters and hates humans so why would she kill the thing she loves? And that also makes sense at the end of the genocide route she slashes you because you killed the thing she loved and her adopted mum and dad
the problem with how people characterize chara isn't WHY they do things, it's HOW they do things
chara and flowey are one in the same, they lack souls (evidence of chara wanting your soul), neither of then can feel true emotions, they should act the same
the difference between the two is chara lacks a physical body, this is where problems arise
if for whatever reason, chara were to grow bored of monsters and decide to kill them (much like the player) they would have no means of doing so, we've seen ghosts possess inanimate objects, but not poeple, and chara is a seemingly different type of ghost, a more literal one than the likes of napstablook or mad dummy
tl;dr: chara could be "evil" but cannot act on it
Chara did not kill you because you killed anyone.
Chara didn’t even kill you in the first place. They just took your SOUL.
Notice that you aren’t the one to kill Asgore or Flowey. Chara is the one who swings. Chara is the one who views them as weak.
Chara literally says “Let us move on from this world and go to the next”, describing how the monsters are pathetic and there’s more for them elsewhere.
I don't want to be the guy who brings an entirely different fandom in, but really quickly, look up Fate/Grand Order Beast Class Servant Requirements; it'll answer (somewhat) why Chara would want to kill the thing she loves, obviously she doesn't, but from an objective stand point...
Let's leave it as "having a wicked and twisted sense of love for them" if you haven't read the above thing.
