Im sorry your experiencing this. My Mom and Aunt are in the same facility. Its not the best but its not the worst. The Cnas are overwhelmed, under paid, Nursing homes are SHORT STAFFED and using AGENCY for their Nursing needs bcz if the Med pass isnt done their is NO FACILITY. I was a CNA yes ago, been a Lpn 18yrs, one of the Nurses went to school w me. She looks out but she is busy w her med pass and now MOST facilities have Dual diagnosis pts on every unit so besides med pass Nurse and Aides are dealing w Screaming patients that are hurting themselves or sometimes hurting others. Its alot across the board. Im sad bcz CNAs need to be paid as well as not be Social workers and Therapists so we have to work as a Team. Many nites when i go to visit I change my Moms diaper or my Aunts bcz they are soaked. And Im tired bcz i take care of special needs patients myself , healthcare has drastically changed 🙏🙏

Please be careful because they will do things to your mom to get back at you
Because they can’t get you. They will never stop because the are allowed to by the state
To do so. The state gets money from them so they turn their heads, and our loved ones pay for it
I promise you they ALWAYS pay for your complaints ! When you say something they will make your loved one PAY and threaten them to say nothing! Unless you have a family that can’t speak that’s Worse they really leave them to their own devices 😢😢😢😢😢 please try to bring home with you!!!!!!

The straw that broke the camails back would be having a parent lying in a dirty bed over going to church I've worked in nursing homes there is no way i would put aloved one in one .they miss treat the elderly and disabled .it is very hard work but if you can't handle it dont work in a nursing home simple.

Most nursing homes are highly depressing for staff and residents. Cut down on staff to wear theyre not getting rest and theres no excuse, but residents get neglected or worse.

I’m so sorry you guys are going through this. I’m in the exact same boat. My mom was just put into a rehab after having major surgery and they have been neglecting her nursing staff are overwhelmed, underpaid, and not equipped to even deal with skilled nursing yet they keep hiring these types of people. I think this sort of stuff is happening all over the country and it’s disgusting!!
I’m in Maryland and it’s the same thing here and no matter what facility you put them in. It’s the same care all over the country and something needs to be done. Matter fact I think more of us needs to speak out. It’s hard to even find out information about the daily lives, what’s going on with people that end up in these places , the sad thing about it is most of our parents and the people that end up these places worked all their lives pay taxes and doing what they had to do being abused. It’s just so sad.
My heart is with you and your mom as you float through this journey I hope that she gets better care soon I’m definitely glad she has you in her corner because you can imagine what they do to people that don’t have family. God bless you guys.

This facility is in Maryland as well. The state responded promptly but at this point seems like they could care less if they get reported. Thank you for your support 🙏

@@catchingupwithcrystal1268 Omgosh I’m not surprised people keep telling me to report the rehab. My mom is in, but I’m not gonna do that because it just gets worse for them when you do and unfortunately, the corruption that goes on in our local government makes it weird. They don’t even care if you call them and they barely investigate. I called, the state board on John Hopkins when my mom was in there because she came out with a huge sore and was severely dehydrated and they said it’s gonna take them a year to investigate. It’s disgusting.

oh my goodness you poor thing ! taking care of ur own family is more than a job ! i have a 53 year old disabled sister lives with my husband and i part time she lives with my older sister part time girl to say this is not easy is a understatement . i have to take her to all her dr appts her health is a train wreck and she just sits and is not active at all ! my mom passed away 5 years ago and my sister was living with my mom til then none of our siblings will help with her so it’s my sister and i ! ugh
my sister cannot drive she is almost 100 percent deaf and is also diagnosed with some mental retardation. to say it’s hard is a understatement . she lives in our finished basement with her small dog and lives here for free since she has been here a month now for the summer my electric bill has doubled so i’m trying to figure out why and what’s the source . girl to say i look forward to her going back to my other sister is a understatement! i know she is my sister but god knows how much stress this is . the good news is she wants to move to florida and get her own place and my older sister is on board to make this happen . Thank God ! i’m not meaning this in a bad way but i just want my house back . i hope you find a better solution for ur moms care i cannot believe they leave her lay like that ! it’s disgusting and unacceptable i use to be a hospice volunteer many years and i also believe what you put out it comes back to you i use to buy my patients items they needed out of my own pocket when they needed stuff it’s what you do . ur mom seems so sweet and tell her we all would like to meet her too!❤

You are speaking only facts. You are not being mean you are speaking facts. Reality. It is absolutely not easy. I pray your sister enjoys Florida. I have a friend who's mother almost ended his marriage. His wife didn't take kindly to his mother pooping and peeing on her white livingroom sofa. Thank you for your support

Problem with nursing homes and facilities alike, corporate lines their pockets but won't invest in creating an atmosphere of content with ideal patient -staff ratio in order for a better quality of service ,with Aides suffering the backlash when it's a scenario like this.

Give her one on one private care . CNA has to care for 8 or 9 clients or more if the staff is short.

It’s easy for everyone to be judge, jury, and executioner when they are not in your position Crystal. None of us know your circumstances. In an ideal world, of course you would have full say over your mom’s care! Of course you would have her home under your professional and compassionate care. However, unless you have walked two steps in your shoes, there is no way ANYONE has the right to say what you should and shouldn’t be doing. You are no good to anyone if you yourself are homeless! You obviously aren’t independently wealthy, otherwise you would have hired private care, quit work and cared for her etc. I’m sorry people seem to be so outspokenly judgmental without knowing anything about your family dynamics or finances. You are doing what you can to care for your mama to the best of your ability and take pride in that. It’s not easy working long hours and running your own home, life and education and then have to worry about your mom’s health and care. It’s unfortunate that people want grace and kindness given to them, but don’t seem to want to apply towards others. Keep fighting for your mama, but remember to take care of yourself too. You are important. ❤

I know there are programs but it wouldn't be enough to cover my expenses. Even with her social security. Things are not getting anything but higher out here. Plus it would literally only be just me 24/7. I'm playing with a few out the box ideas in my head. Thank you for your support and suggestion
