The study you’re talking about was literally giving patients estrogen AS a cancer treatment - meaning that the primary cancer wasn’t completely treated like we do today with Tamoxifen or AI. If only a couple of the ER+ women had reoccurrences, isn’t that nothing short of a miracle? They ALL should have had reoccurrences due to the high dose and proximity to the original diagnosis right?
My aunt took hrt, developed breast cancer, and had the breast removed. She went for her five year check up, it was found that she had developed cancer in her remaining breast. Her surgeon reminded her that he had warned her of the risks of breast cancer reoccurring if she continued to take hrt during her consultation after she had her first breast removed. She suffered greatly with arm pain after the removal of her breast as she also had to have numerous lymph nodes removed and some of her chest wall. Due to her misery, I made the decision never to take hrt.
@@jillkemp5521Did you aunt have any genes that give her a higher incidence of breast cancer? do you? I’d figure that out before you discount HRT all together. If she had a gene for it, she could have had breast cancer regardless.
Also the recent longitudinal study about HRT after early breast cancer in 2022 which followed women for 10-15 years was not mentioned. No increased breast cancer recurrence with either vaginal or systemic hormone therapy. Systemic or Vaginal Hormone Therapy After Early Breast Cancer: A Danish Observational Cohort Study
I would happily take HRT if breast cancer was found. Menopause Taylor on you tube did a 55 video unit on breast cancer. Shocked at how women with Stage 0 precancerous cells were scared silly that they had cancer, when it was precancerous. We only live one life, being miserable is no excuse to not keto them have HRT
She just ignores how some women suffer through menopause. And she conflates her side effects with everyone else's, which may actually be worse than hers. It's unfortunate.
Thanks for posting this your presentation is so clear well paced and easy to follow.... I want to share this with you please although - Please look up: The cancer journal, volume 28' (and it may be an idea to check the pages just before it and after it too - the chapter basically) 'thus of the 25 studies, only one, the HABITS study, the fourth prospectively randomised one increased the r........ it is exceptionally eye opening. May i ask have you taken Tamoxifen ? I have not.
Now your paragraph 'Guess what - it’s not even about HRT. It’s a trial that’s 50 years old comparing tamoxifen against high dose oestrogen for the treatment of breast cancer. This is before we knew how tamoxifen works and before it was licensed to treat breast cancer' Hrt means estrogen surely, as in : high dose estrogen = hrt and Tamoxifen was tested for breast cancer in this study - why is the question ???? and so its irrelevant because TAmoxifen was tested for breast cancer outcomes in the study and thats good enough surely ?
@@DrLizORiordan lots of women take tamoxifen (Tamoxifen resistance etc) and get it again (ps. I had it three times total .. two recurrences myself here , last one was tiny !)
OK, and for the women who are suicidally depressed without HRT? You yammer on about your side effects from tamoxifen, which clearly you tolerated, but you ignore that some women simply can't tolerate tamoxifen, and that some are literally suicidal without HRT.
You are one of a couple of people on RUclips who give evidence based information that. This helps me to make informed decisions with my doctors. Who said you don’t get good information on social media. You just have to choose your sources carefully. Look at their qualifications, and what band wagon they might be pushing. Your information is totally in line with what my doctors have told me, and what BCNA state. Thankyou for helping us cancer survivors understand breast cancer and it’s various forms of treatment better.
Good for you for takling this, but misinformation about HRT pre breast cancer is also prevalent online. Dr Louise Newson says that there is no link. I believed her. Now I face masectomy & I am lucky things could have been much worse. THINK TWICE BEFORE YOU TAKE HRT.
@DrLizORiordan I'm very glad you have made these three videos & made scientific, balanced arguments, BUT the people spreading the misinformation have huge online platforms & are regularly being interviewed on morning TV shows, have been featured in documentaries & have celeb endorsement. They have the upper hand.
@@DrLizORiordan I think there are so many xenoestrogens and poisons in our food and water supply. That is what is causing the majority of all cancers. Thank you for your videos, they are very informative.

This lack of information shows the bias against HRT. I have been wondering about this myself. Thank for sharing this information.
Glad it was helpful!

Thank you for this. That study sounds nothing but confusing, at the very least.
You're very welcome!

I have read all of these studies. HRT is a LAST resort for anyone with ER+ve breast cancer
