GUIMARÃES - IGREJA DE NOSSA SENHORA DA CONSOLAÇÃO (Church of Our Lady of Consolation)

The church, dedicated to Our Lady of Consolation and Santos Passos, is located in the historic center, in front of a beautiful garden, the Jardim do Largo da República do Brasil. Entry is free.
The Church of Our Lady of Consolation and the Holy Steps is considered one of Portugal’s most exquisite baroque churches. Its construction commenced in the 18th century, and two pointed towers were later added almost a century afterward. The steps and balustrade were also erected around the same period. The interior is remarkably neoclassical.

What a gorgeous "Avenue" approach, but for a Baroque example, rather dull. Very good shot of the Martyr...Always so interesting. Many Thanks Massimo
