I'm sorry, but because of the not so great audio, this no joke sounds like a group of kids performing this for a talent show. Well, for most parts at least.
I've seen them live. It was different from their studio audio sure, but that's any group. It was a good show. Somebody done fucked up with this performance.
i dont care i love this halftime so much! this is the first SuperBowl I ever saw. i was in the backyard and my dad called me from the window tell me that they were going on. he showed me the black eyed peas and I loved to listen to them. we watched this performance together and it was amazing.

It’s hard for people who don’t work in music, performing, audio equip, vocals , etc., to understand that any one thing not being perfect can ruin a whole show! The tech wasn’t as advanced either then. And idc if I’m the only one who has always thought Fergie was way underrated! She’s an amazing performer!❤️🙏
Its good that someone connected to this performance considers it a positive experience. I remember it being bad but now watching it in 2018 again.. its just awful & it wasnt just the audio problems that made it the disaster it in reality was. Their vocals make you wonder how they made it in the music industry at all. 95% of the time they were just screaming lyrics into a microphone. Ive seen tons of people that could sing better at an off night at the local karoke bar. You cant just shake off a catastrophe of this magnitude & its obvious that they couldbt because like another commentor said, they never really accomplished much musically after this halftime show.

In what way was they're career destroyed? Their album sales more than double the week after the Super Bowl. They released another single which was a huge hit worldwide. Then they took a break because Fergie wanted a baby. Will.i.am released an album which was successful plus a number of hit singles. And the Black Eyed Peas have new music out this year. They're careers seem fine to me.
exactly. i went back to every music video after watching this and most of the songs sound better to me on the SB performance than the music video. now granted songs like Boom Boom Pow either sound better on the music video or are on equal footing as the SB performance however songs like Pump It and Where is the Love sound better on the SB performance than the Music Video. This is from someone who only knew a few of their songs so when i heard songs i didn't know about they sound better on the SB performance. which means the SB performance was a success. Even Fergie singing Sweet Child o Mine was not bad to me because i only knew of 1 Guns and Roses song which was Jungle. IMO Fergie does not have a bad voice (it's not bad but not amazing either) as it's her natural singing as oppose to her voice being filtered in the studio to make her sound like a goddess that your suppose to worship and drool over. It's like a different side of them that i enjoyed as their natural singing is fine to me and i would pay to see them perform without lip syncing. as oppose to watching someone else Lip Sync their way through a Live Performance because they can't put on a decent natural perfomance. the only thing bad here is the poor audio quality for low volume and other minor things which you blame the audio team for not the performers as the performers did not do a bad job.
+Moody I don't much listen to Usher, so I won't comment. But it's an interesting thing. I've noticed there is about an even divide, (from my own experience) between those who like those who sound like the studio version (this is what I came to hear), vs those who prefer groups that don't sound like the studio sound live (I could have listened to the studio version for free). Two polar opposites, Rammstein is complimented for it's consistency while Grateful Dead was complimented for never sounding the same twice. I wonder if an actual poll were taken, which would be consented to be the more talented of the two styles. This isn't an argumentative post or anything, so try not to consider it as such.
This wasn't that bad as people say. They had some issues with the audio but the performance was ok. They are not singers, nor dancers, they did what they could.

I was acting a production of Ragtime in Highschool and I know how frustrating this is. To put all this work into this show only for the audio to mess everything up.
I love B.E.P. and they’re all so talented. I don’t think people understand how difficult it is to perform live to music that is so processed. In my opinion, they should have lip synced this performance and focused on the technology and dancing. I personally don’t care if singers lip sync as long as the performance is spectacular. I wouldn’t hold it against them.

The music is too quiet, the bass doesn’t hit AT ALL. It makes the performance fall completely flat. The sound is missing soul.
