Anthony, thank you so much for the mention. I appreciate it! I remember all those years ago the afternoon at Temple Emmanuel when you asked me back to be a part of the film clip for "Dorothy the Dinosaur." Do you remember inviting me to Temple Emmanuel where you were teaching at that time? You wished for me to play piano for the children during "sleep time." From memory it was part of your assessment, yes? You even introduced me as the "sleep inspector." That was some magic! I played Saint-Saens' "The Swan" for the children to fall asleep to. I remember too at first declining to appear in the clip because I had been away from the group for so many months and I felt terribly insecure, but you along with family and friends thought that I should do it! If I remember correctly, the filming for "Dorothy the Dinosaur" took place the following Sunday afternoon, and that you drove me from your apartment at Stanmore to Darling Harbour in HXO, your tan Torana. It was a Torana, yes? Such a long time ago now but it only feels like yesterday! I remember well the conversation we had in your car on the way there, and how everyone greeted me on seeing me back! It was quite something! Please know how grateful I am for the remembrance. It has meant the world! I wish you well! God bless you!
hi mr wilcher im not sure if i asked you this a long time ago when you did the dorothy the dinosaur film clip at darling harbour i know the song was from the first album but did greg actually sang it live and did murray voice dorothy at that concert or dorothy didn't talk at that concert while murray voiced dorothy in the first album and im a big fan of the first dorothy costume
@@markponekovic3415 Hi Mark, good to hear from you again! How have you been? To answer your question as best I can, I am pretty sure Greg did sing it live during the concert. I can't recall if Murray did the voice over there and then. Paul Field was in the Dorothy costume. The filming actually took place at two venues, firstly where you see the concert being performed in front of the live audience at Darling Harbour ( by the way, I had no idea the film clip was to be part of a live concert, so I really had no rehearsal, I just copied Murray and everyone else lol) and then later at the Chinese Gardens (Darling Harbour). I think for the Chinese Gardens part of the clip it was all mimed. I will stand corrected on that. The thing is from my side I was never really "in the know" on how it was all to be take place. Anthony had invited me back just three days beforehand, so any planning prior the concert and the filming of the clip I was not really privy to. I first thought that the film clip would be done on a closed set, the same way we did "Get Ready To Wiggle." Perhaps Anthony might be able to answer your question better than I can. My memory of the hook for "Rock-a-bye" was that you wanted an intro to Greg's song for which you had an idea, and at your suggestion, I wrote the arpeggio figure (I think it's basically a broken chord pattern in A Major, isn't it?) and then I played/recorded it. Somewhere here I have a cassette sleeve from the initial recording session on which you credit me with that in your own handwriting. You wrote Page/Field/Wilcher. Once again, kindest regards and thank you so much for remembering me! Means the world!
