I have no idea why this appeared as I was scrolling through RUclips. I'm usually watching garden /allotment channels.. But I think it's spellbinding. No commentary or music, just the sound of spatula on canvas and birdsong and dog barking in the background. I've done a bit of acrylic painting on canvas, just for fun, another craft to have a go at. Perhaps I should try again. To watch this lady have a 'knowing' of colour is a true gift and a joy to watch...

My takeaways as an admittedly clueless observer: I love Doreen's (forgive the familiarity of the first name) focus. Her fleeting moments of pause/consideration while standing back, followed (often in a hair's breadth of time) by the next action she immediately identifies and pursues. There's more than a sense of artistry to her efforts and purpose to her movements - there's rapidity of planning/execution. Watching her at work is both calming and inspiring at the same time.
OMG. The most entertaining and lovely video. I found myself saying, ooh, yes, that color, and that one, nice blend, yikes! bright orange! Ok, it's working. Lovely blending. Stop there. Oh, more. Yes, what!? How does she see the beauty? No, stop. Don't take away that orange. Whew. Yes. That white line. Step away now! It was a roller coaster.
My feeling exactly. My husband says by the time he watched a hockey game, he feels like he played it. This video was more excitement than I can remember.

I started selling my art nearly six years ago…I am 73. Love painting most days and have sold around 1400 pieces in that time. Never too late to start! Keep up the great work ❤️💙
Hi I started doing a few craft fairs but not for long as it is really only suitable for small paintings and most people I find want larger pieces. I specialise in fluid and textured abstract art. I sell mainly by advertising on Facebook Market place and around 20 Facebook Selling sites. I run 2 ads/post a week on each site featuring around 10 pieces. I bump them daily. It does take time but it is worth it. I always try to answer any enquiries as soon as they arrive. I now have many repeat customers and new customers by word of mouth. 1 have sold 1400 paintings in the 5 years but it has been slower this last year. I guess everyone is struggling a little with rising prices. I keep my prices as keen as I can, starting at just £15 for a small piece up to £145 for a large piece.
