AMP:And Jesus cried again with a loud voice and gave up His spirit.
What Mr. Matthew was trying to say is that yes, they nailed Him to the cross which is the process of "killing Him" but it was out of His volition and not that they overpowered Him. He gave Himself to them because that was the reason He came to the earth!
Yeah, He was killed literally if you would say but, it was of His own will. Mr. Matthew meant something but didn't really know how to explain and scripture backup hence, his confusion!
