Thanks! I'm pretty sophisticated with gimp (image processing coding is one of my hobbies) but after watching this I thought "what the heck?" So after an apt-cache search of "gimp-" I found lots of packages of extensions. Because I didn't want to download all those help files in every language, I did a quick (35MB download) install with the command sudo apt install gimp-[bcdefgijklmopqrstvwxyz]* And found lots of cool still AND video extensions! Never even thought about exploring the tools already available, I usually just create my own.
Great intro but after 1:50 this makes zero sense, real fast. I had to slow-mo to even see what you're doing. Is this on Linux? Thanks much for the vid, but I'm lost now. Windows 7 here.
i dont understand you this explanation didnt tell me direct to huh and how like explain i dont even have a computer like that my file dont look like that like common now
That's all fine and dandy for a 2004 software but in 2005 on you know..layer effects can be changed and tweaker to our liking on proper software. That sucks, i couldv done that shitty gradient on my selection of text by hand.
@@ChrisTitusTech thanks. I ended up locating something similar but haven't gotten to try it yet. I'll take a look. Still getting the hang of everything. I started using mint around the same time you did and then stumbled across your channel a few days ago. Still getting the hang of things and need working on finding the best software to get setup.
I have GIMP 2.8. Has anyone compared 2.8 with 2.1 with fu scripts? Which is better? I want to learn a little GIMP and Photoshop, and want a good foundation.
matthewgrider33 No. I'm pretty sure it doesn't. Maybe you installed it into the wrong version of gimp? These scripts are designed for GIMP 2.10. If not that then maybe you put them in the wrong folder (directory), etc.

Still works. Thanks. I just copied it from the zip folder and pasted into where gimp/2.10 was in my directory without requiring a merge.
You went slow through the easy stuff and sped through the most difficult part. You need to work on your instructional skills

Loved the scripts! I use them in the production of my art!
How did you pull what into the explorer? At 1.50 you just skip essentials and leave us hanging.

Terminal Commands:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:otto-kesselgulasch/gimp

Gimp 2.1 is superior in every way.
@@ChrisTitusTech Thanks, Chris. I will take your word for it.
Is it any way to download the old 2.8 version back

Will have to research that command. Seems useful
