Hello Marcus, I really enjoyed your Mini 2 video yesterday your flying skills were very good and that was a very cinematic video it really shows your skill level of the controller and as a pilot.
You seemed to have a pretty good flight with the Fimi Mini, at least until the Gimbal when crazy near the end. And I saw a few comments that said your weren’t doing the the soaring effect correctly, and that’s fine, but I’m more sure how good an effect it is if you to line it up perfectly to get it working. Great testing, and it nice to see you and Sara enjoying cool temps on the beach.
Thank you Ron! This little drone is pretty troublesome. I agree, the whole point of the soaring effect is to keep the camera centered on the POI while moving the drone straight up. If you have to be directly over the target, what's the point? 😁

Wow that gimbal freak out was something else. Kinda seemed like the gyro went crazy for a moment. Aside from that I was impressed. The Quickshots seemed to work well. I wonder if the rocket mode would work correctly if you tried it directly overhead with the camera facing straight down?

Hello Marcus, I noticed when you clicked on Quickshots to begin your test ( about 7:18) the vignette disappeared. When you clicked out of Quickshots (about 17:30) vignette reappeared. Was it just me or did you notice also? This looks like something the Fimi people need to look into. It may be a clue to the vignette issue. Thanks for the video.
You must be popular as I keep getting interrupted by commercials. I have been to that beach a few times but the aerials are what I like. My Spark from a few years ago always did what it advertises to do so am holding on to it.
Hmmmm..I think the target box is irrelevant for soaring. The drone goes up w/ no gimble adjustment down as it ascends. It looked like it was about 15' in front of you. The trick might be to pick a far enought distance away in order for the natural view (without gimble adjustment) to view the subject in the soaring quickshot. I kinda wonder if the pilot can adjust the gimbal down manually during ascention.
@@IdahoQuadcopter I think, from a software perspective, that to include anything in the QuickShots group...whatever the flight does forces the target selection regardless of it being needed or not. If it's going straight up, then (for the most part) the gimble (if you can't adjust it down during soaring & it doesn't do it by itself) then it needs to be mostly downward knowing it wont. Then, depending on the height of the target, you then choose closer or farther away. I think ultimately that soaring is probably best for generally flattish objects (like sidewalk chalk art) that you can position immediately above a couple feet then zoom out to pick up lots of sidewalk art. Or, while your on Long Beach, have Sarah gather a few dozen dead crabs to one area. Then start soaring directly over center deceased crab at a couple feet zooming up to where all of the dead crabs are shown. Maybe 20ft? See if it'll let you add a slow yaw during ascent to add variety. Any target w/ any real vertical height won't benefit from soaring as much as the other flight modes that require the drone to acquire a target in the center. Soaring is probably best for 2D targets to get quick up close & far away perspective (or reversed if backwards-play). There's not a lot of practical use of soaring other than 2D up-down zooms.
Hi Marcus, I think Fimi is going bad. I am very happy with my little C-Fly Faith 2. Video is good, comparable with DJI quality. Many users have problems with firmware though. On mine the latest firmware was put. I am now editing some videos to compare the quickshots with DJI Mavic Air 2. You should change the Fimi for the C-Fly I guess.

There is micro USB port behind of the drone..I know that this port is for connect the drone to PC. But i could not found any information how to do it.. Can you please help me how can i connect the drone to pc and download videos from drone sd card to pc

I guess Fimi must be making the firmwares to correct the few bugs it has. Fimi is a good company. Seems to me that is a good drone, but they always comes with a few bugs that could be fixed later. Only on IOS is it called "Quickshots" - Android users will see "One Click Videos" - Which work okay, but they need to develop more Templates (Filters, music and speed changes) - and yes, "Soaring" works well if you get the drone above you or within a few meters of your position and a few above.
My new go too Drone. Love it. Utubers really seem to not like Fimi x8 mini being compared to DJI. Most disliked video i have put up so far. Thanks for sharing
@@IdahoQuadcopter Hope it stays around for you. I just got mine a few days ago and each time Ive flown it it has tried to leave. The GPS is sloppy, the compass calibration is practically impossible, and the return to home seems to take it back toward china. I would rather call the FAA by phone, every time I try to fly a Mavic Mini than place any trust in this Fimi product.

I've had a lot of gimbal issues with this one Ryan. There is also a lot of spotlighting on this camera. 🤷♂️ Maybe I need to buy a 4th Fimi X8 Mini? 🤣

The Fimi X8 Mini defaults to 1080 video in Quickshots. That may have something to do with it. Good catch!
I think we have to deal with a 2.7k drone until they correct that problem (which is not present with photo mode too....)
Soaring appears like it grabs a target... flys to it and then rises up. Your last attempts kinda looked like that. But keeps the same gimbal angle.
Like everything else on this drone. It's pretty wonky. 😂

I have never tried that. I alway just remove the micro SD card.
