I think the reason people feel self conscious when comparing to Ali is related to the way they view themselves. A lot of the time when comparing myself to Ali, I view him as someone who can get into the flow quickly and focus for long periods, so I look to him as a guide to slowly improve my focus and work ethic. I don’t think that’s toxic, it’s just recognizing the good habits of others and wanting to take them on-board. Never have I felt bad about myself because Ali is productive, rather I see a way to keep improving, which is part of the journey.

Very well said! You are absolutely right, we should use his videos to model our focus and productivity and try to improve in those areas instead of feeling bad about not being as successful as him.

I think it’s each adult’s responsibility to manage the kind of information they expose themselves to.
There’s a ton of content out there that makes me feel tired, anxious, upset. I look at it as ‘I’m responsible for being mindful about how the external world affects me and choosing the kind of info I let into my eyes and ears’.
Also the fact that I react to information in a negative way does not necessarily mean that the information is bad - we each have a filter (our previous experience, emotional state we are in right now) through which we look at things.
I prefer to think of it this way because it gives me agency and I don’t depend on the kind of things out there in the world that surround me.
If something makes you annoyed, nervous, anxious, weak, doubt yourself - just eliminated from your life. Choosing what you consume is your right - exercise it!

I feel that it is helpful to be mindful about things that annoy you rather than doing the whole out of sight out of mind thing. Why is it annoying you? Getting to the bottom of it. One can learn a ton about themselves by giving themselves time to process their own feelings. Any feeling is a messenger after all. I used to ran away from "negative" feelings. But not anymore. I start by giving them a few minutes, by talking them out, and surprisingly coming the other end more peaceful and stronger.

Alis definition of productivity can't slide. Dude said if he's doing stuff he wants to be doing then he's being productive. Bro I wanna be playing league of legends 24/7, that cant be productive i swear

after watching this conversation, i began to realized I have a bit of some toxic producity traits. I think its because I really want to be successful so i feel the need to constantly optimize my time and be on top of everything(but i never saw it as bad i just had it be a habit) But watching you ask certain questions I started to question my only motivates. I really loved this conversation!!

I think Ali had achieved some level of loving the work that he does and the challenges that he encounter to the point that he doesn’t have to force himself to do them anymore. Whereas most of us don’t, and we have many tasks in our daily lives that we would rather do something more fun and enjoyable than working on them. In short, his method doesn’t apply to all of us, we cannot compare.

WAIT!😂😂I’M *LITERALLY* WATCHING THIS AT *1.5 SPEED* and you just started talking about how saying people should do that could be toxic. HAHA!!

I feel bad for Ali. But oh well, he seems to be OK with that. A message to all the ladies reading this: please please please stop with the eye rolling and passive aggressive comments. Especially towards the men. We cry there's a lack of "real men" out there. But we don't even realise the role we play in creating this scarcity. More appreciation, more love. Thanks for the video Sheen!

Being a medical doctor, writing a book, and having a successful RUclips channel does NOT scream unproductive. I think folks need to stop over analyzing Ali's productivity journey and focus on their own journey. If his tactics are proven to be helpful in your life so be it, if not table it and carry on. Tfs

Wow the last video with Ali and it's 40 min! I'm only halfway through but so far kudos both of you for having a frank conversation about this topic. I'm sure some people were curious to know what Ali thought about these responses. I thought Sheen navigated this pretty respectfully actually, all she's doing is presenting other people's views that are already in Ali's video comment section.

First time here on your channel. I like this content bcos you have successfully asked right questions, fruitful discussions & got to the bottom of the main topic.
We’re all know that Sheen didn’t “attacked” Aali as she’s just trying to let him clarify the misconceptions or negative perceptions threw at Aali in the comments. I think, by having this conversations, sheen (& viewers) understands & discover more about him.
I genuinely feel that Aali doesn’t have toxic productivity (although he’s constantly working). He loves what he does, and with high payment from youtube, of course it push him further.
I think most of successful people have these traits (like being productive, working, etc.). I don’t see the logical reason why people write bad comments about him, & have haters. I prefer we look & discuss his positive traits/ side rather than negative. (This video is an exception as it is to clarify & discuss things about TP & him being viewed as 1).
    Love from Kuala Lumpur.

To me, I think of “doing something that is fun, meaningful and possibly doing it efficiently” as being a description of intentional living rather than productivity. I feel that productivity can be a bit more difficult to define. There is productivity for the things that we need to get done and then there are those things we do just for the sake of “feeling productive” which give little joy in the moment but we do them because they feed the ego. For me, that’s the opposite of living intentionally and that’s where it gets toxic for me. 🌞 I love these discussions so thank you so much for sharing!!

Every one has a different brain some people can process information lot faster because of the knowledge they have gathered over the years , so listening to something at 2X does not necessarily mean rushing things .

Even if Ali enjoys being productive in the general sense to what it means to be productive, It's completely his choice.
There are people who might want to rest 40% and Work 60% of the times,
There are people who would do opposite. Why do we judge?
