Bought it through UE market place and it seems , I have to download it , because no option for adding the project. But how to download in epic launcher ?
This reminds me of how the Rebirth UE4 render team used geometry fading distance for the iceland mountain fog. Great stuff, I was always to lazy to make it because I haven't had to implement it into a project yet, but this is awesome. Definitely worth more than 5 dollars!
@@WilliamFaucher Yeah. I watched the BTS and knew I was gonna use it eventually but haven't made the time to make it. So thanks for making it even easier. Hope my purchase helps make your content easier to produce!

Thank you William... Let me first say you already great instructor. I'm saying goodbye to all those nodes when all I really want is a simple fog. What a time saver.

The true potential of EZ fog is when used to kit bash far distant clouds at the horizon and just above it. At those distances the volumes are not important but the elegance of it is. Perfect for making that dreamy distant lands of clouds and ideas. Especially when adding a sunset light to it, like golden yellow or pink orange.
Just purchased EasyFog. Can't wait to start using it. Sidenote: I went to Wendy's for lunch and had burger, fries and a coke for $11 and it was gone in 15 minutes. EasyFog at $10 is a no-brainer and it will stay in your toolbox forever. Just go get it.
I was literally looking yesterday at the process of adding fog sheets to UE5 and it seemed like such a needless hassle, bloating your content browser exactly as you said. You came out with this at the perfect moment, literally my saviour!
Ah so glad to hear it! Yeah I faced the EXACT same issues you did, even though EasyFog isn't super complicated, I made it purely for quality of life reasons :) Hope it helps you!
This is very nicely executed. I am using it for a game with underground levels, so I had to tweak the settings quite a bit to get a decent effect, but I think it looks a fair bit more natural than the noise-based solution I had before.
Does the density and appearance of it change drastically when you adjust your Engine Scalability Settings up or down/ in-game graphics settings? I'm looking for fog that wouldn't become more or less opaque or dense depending on the graphical settings
William is the man. He's done exactly what I as a designer would like to see in unreal. Easy CGI, no back coding or complicated setups. Using Niagara is so daunting and has interfered with my team project just trying to get it to behave properly. this is perfect timing and such a relief! Adding an easily accessible opacity and wind settings is a designers dream for smoke assets! Now my team and I can move forward with our project because of this great innovation. Easy FOG! and it can be used in so many creative ways, as Steam, clouds, fog, gas, anything!

In my medieval city scene I made a progressive look of that fog that appears amazing! Thanks @WilliamFaucher. You are an amazing wizard in this community :)
I love those high quality and easy to use tools for unreal engine cinematics as I am more a cinematographer than a 3d artist. These tools help me a lot to bring my vision to life without needing to get to technical and spending hours on youtube tutorials. Thank you so much and best regards from sweden!
This is incredible!! Perfect for my project, an instant purchase. Would love a Volumetric Light Shaft pack too-customizable cards or cone meshes to be used for flashlights or searchlights in fog as UE doesn’t support moving lights in exponential height fogs without reinstantiating. Great work!
I will definitely be getting this for my current project. Thanks for making it so affordable for us people with rubbish exchange rates. Wishing you a superb 2023.
Mahalo for this! I bought the package - what a decent price! I saw a bunch of great reviews and a few people disappointed by the card nature but when you're talking about technology you use what works and has the least burden on the endpoint computer, and i like this.

I've been playing around with this over the last week William, and this tool is well worth the price. Placing fog into a scene without the headache of using animated fog planes is saving me so much time. Awesome work.

Your Patreon looks really good too (which I will be joining when I move to UE5), looking forward to seeing all the scans you do over the years.
I worked a lot with fog on an older project. The only reason I went with volumetric fog was because of the clipping so the fading setting is a great addition. Going to try it out in my current scene!
This is superb! I've already implemented it in the current work I'm doing at my studio. The tool is great! One thing I'm missing is small scale dust clouds (figured maybe I can make my own). Another feature that would be perfect is the abilty to fade the edges. Maybe this can be done by having a feathered circle as a Multiply to the opacity map. This would make it easy to scale and translate the position of the circle with parameters in the blueprint. This would really benefit the illusion of volumetric fog that is lit up by i.e. a point light, making it so the fog is only visible around the light. Great work!
I've been following this channel since the beginning and I have to tell you, this channel is a must when you're learning Unreal as a 3D artist. Amazing job with this William! I have been looking for something like this in Unreal for a LONG time! I would love to see more products from you! As someone who renders cinematics and uses a Blender-To-Unreal Engine workflow, I use a lot of 2D Image Sequences as Planes. This includes transparency and sometimes emission for materials involving fire or explosions. I'd love to see maybe a blueprint much like this but where you can input a Base Texture for either a transparent video (ActionVFX Assets) or an Image Sequence. Much like with Easy Fog what would work well is Geometry and Camera Fade Distances, your Wind Speed tools, an option for the Normal Maps (which could work for people who know how to convert our Videos/Image Sequences to Normal Maps), options for Emission, and maybe even a color ramp or threshold-esque value that can act as a way to mask out what will be emissive and what will not be emissive (which can work really well for explosions and smoke/fire fx). And since people will most likely utilize this with sequencer, having an option to set up a starting keyframe to being the sequence, option to loop, or option to speed/slow down would make it the perfect tool for cinematics! I think this would make for an excellent asset and shouldn't be much different from the base you've set up with EasyFog! This has been the biggest issue for me using Unreal as it's just not as easy to set this up as it is in Blender. In Blender it's just a few clicks while in Unreal it involves coding, scripting, setting up Blueprints, etc. It's a HUGE hassle so I'd love to see a tool like this sometime soon! Amazing job with EasyFog, Will! Looking forward to anything else you put out!
