With Dimash, I often clear my head and hear a song for the first time again (even if it's the 15th time). I tend to live in the moment and Dimash sings within the moment, so every time is the first time for me :) --I'm always so happy with his fave instruments, piano and violins

I’d love you to hear Quaragym-ai which has no extreme notes at all. He sung it on an empty stage with a pianist to accompany him. They both wanted to pay tribute to a beloved collage professor who had died from covid. Dimash finds the song very emotional to sing. It is heartbreakingly special. I’d also love you to see his mv of Be With Me which is a pop song with surprises galore. It will show his. Versatility. Loving your reactions..

Very good reaction, thank you. Dimash is a wonder of the world. Each of his performances is a revolution in terms of the way he sings the well-known song or the way he creates his own composition. He is always looking for something new to surprise us and he is very successful in this way. This is one of my favorite Dimash songs. He is a storyteller. He said that his up-and-down notes are just his tools to tell the story and show his emotions...

I'd love to see your analysis of the Chinese version of this song "Autumn Strong." My favourite performance is his Arnau concert in Kivy, Ukraine, just before the Covid-19 pandemic forced Dimash to cancel the rest of his tour. In it he wears a red suit. I also heard Dimash say to the audience in a more recent concert, "Would you like me to sing the next song in Mandarin or Japanese?" Yes Dimash is unique in so many different ways.

Something about his voice pierces my soul as well. I think it's probably his ability to marshal every ounce of his talented being to communicate emotion. If you listen to his interviews, he directs attention away from the notes and stresses the emotional content of a given song as what's crucial to him. It shows, and I suspect it's why he doesn't limit himself to any one genre but instead uses elements of many styles of music to convey the meaning he wants. Thank you for another fantastic reaction/analysis by Sir Hairless.

He had been performing the Chinese version of this song (Autumn Strong) for several years before he did this version. The back story of the song makes it relevant in both languages. But this piece more than most others really shows his maturation as an artist. The Chinese versions are beautiful but this one really pierced my soul. Also one of my favorite performances of Dimash.

Dimash sang the Chinese version of this song, called "Autumn Strong" or "Late Autumn", on Singer 2017. Some things, like the soprano passage (except for a different last note), were in that version too, but the lyrics are different. That performance was the first time he had sung in Chinese to a Chinese audience. See the video "Dimash translated : the true story behind "Autumn Strong" with English Subtitles" for a version of the story behind the song, on Gloria Wu's channel (G Wu). Maybe for copyright reasons, that video is slowed so the song is a semi-tone lower. He ends that performance much like he did 2 performances later on "Adagio" (but more beautifully ?). Check that version out - I think it was his most emotional performance of the competition.

This is what the poet Goro Matsui who wrote the lyrics for Ikanaide said about Dimash's performance at the Tokyo Jazz Festival. Its taken from an interview with the Dimash Japanese Fan Club
“I’ve heard ‘Ikanaide’ sung by foreign singers in their native language many times, but this is the first time anyone has sung it so beautifully in Japanese.”
On December 9, Goro Matsui gave a short interview to the DJFC Japanese fan club, where he shared in more detail what got him caught up in Dimash’s performance of the legendary composition:
“I happened to find Dimash singing “ikanaide” by chance. The first thing that surprised me was his crystal clear tone and his expressiveness voice that conveys the lyrics of the song. I’ve heard other Asian singers sing “Ikanaide” in their native languages several times. However, even though they all sing great, none of them seemed to quite capture the sound/reverberation and meaning of the original lyrics/words, and perceive the emotions between the lines. In this song, the phrase ~ Ah, ikanaide~ is repeated several times in the chorus. Although they are the same exact words, each line has a different meaning. I feel that Dimash seems to knowing it.”

Goro Matsui wrote “Ikanaide” together with Koji Tamaki in 1989. The poet shared that at the time, Tamaki rarely sang the song at his concerts. It took a long time before the singer started performing it on stage again.
“This song is very difficult to comprehension like this even for the original singer/composer. I believe to be able to sing this song, you need to have “the time” which is many life experiences to fully express the songs lyrics, not just with singing ability.”
Also, Goro Matsui shared that he would be glad to hear Dimash perform some more songs that he composed together with Koji Tamaki, for example, “Anokoro e” (“Back to the time”) and “Friend”.

    Both versions are equally beautiful.
Each in his own style. ❤
I love how Dimash often gives us comfort with his voice. He also did that in the middle of The Story of One Sky. It is like he knows the pain, and he is hugging our soul with his voice.

Wow. I want to react to you hearing Dimash. Dimash plays his vocal cords and more in ways I have not heard before with pure wonder. And now you. I have never seen a virtuoso rendering of someone playing their face to reveal their thoughts and emotions at the level of their soul. Dimash plays his instrument so beautifully that I am entranced, but he plays with intellectual intent, not a bad thing, just with lovely controlled decision. But you! There is a purity in your expression which is unconscious and not of control. It is a lovely joy in another’s accomplishment. I saw what you felt and my eyes were damp with the tears of your admiration for what Dimash was doing. Not many are able to let others see what you really feel. They are too afraid. It is lovely to see but I am a little afraid for you. You seem vulnerable in a beautiful way. So today I have seen beauty and heard beauty. Thank you. It was very special. I love reactions to Dimash. Usually I enjoy seeing the shock and the awe so I laugh at the fun of it but you made me see your soul. I did not laugh. I rejoiced instead🤓

Cape Town Dear: I only discovered Dimash a few weeks ago, and I haven’t stopped watching his RUclips Channel and shared it with my circles. I love the commentary of professional singers and voice coaches on Dimash’s vocals. He sings form his heart and soul with Raw Emotion. Dimash doesn't just sing; he feels the music and projects his emotions to the listener. His performances are full of emotion and passion, and you can hear and experience this in every note or octave he hits in each register. Whether it's joy, pain, love, or hope, Dimash connects with the story behind each song, he connects with your soul and transmits it from soul to soul. Dimash is otherworldly, in my 64 years on this planet I have never experienced and felt the emotions like I do when I hear his voice. His deep emotional connection with each performance is why it feels so personal and unforgettable. Dimash's voice spans an impressive 8 octaves (the whistle that he did a few years ago is off the music scale) allowing him to reach notes that are unique, rare, ethereal, and otherworldly. He is a true Crystal Child (google crystal children) and angelic, no other explanation for Dimash’s GENIUS, he is a PRODIGY and PHENOMENON.

Thank you for dissecting the song for musically ignoramus person like me! How can Dimash make me feel like I am a waste ( I am indeed a very high achiever) and at the same time inspire me to sing like him! Unless God comes and touches me with such beyond angelic gift, we have to be just keep listening and go through all these emotional upheavals! God bless this highly favoured humanoid
