The reason the 7 Plus was like 1 second behind is simply because of optimisation. In the coming months iOS 11 and third party apps will be updated for better optimisation. Last year on the first version of iOS 10, the iPhone 7 performed horribly. But since like iOS 10.2 it’s been so much better. This test should be done again on a later version of iOS 11. The reason why geekbench gets such crazy high scores is because it makes use of whatever hardware / cores is thrown at it. The majority of third party apps however haven’t been updated and optimised for all this power. So *don’t not* but an iPhone 8 because of this speed test. 😁
xLeBLADEx Have you even examined the specifications? Lol. The A11 in the 8plus has 2 performance cores at 2.39 GHz, called Monsoon, and four energy-efficient cores, at 1.43 Ghz which also permits the A11 to use all six cores simultaneously, unlike its predecessor the A10 in the 7
Speculating, the 8 was ahead of the 7 until the photoshop test, perhaps thermal runaway just caught up to it at that point and it had to downclock, while the 7, by virtue of running slower from the start, had more gaps between bursts for thermals to stay steady in.
Can a smartphone be loaded with software to "trick" a benchmark test into producing higher scores? The Bionic chip scores like a monster, but it's real-world performance doesn't line up at all with the tests. Benchmarks are meant to be taken with a grain of salt, but something seems to be off with the iPhone 8's performance compared to its supposed power.
Ok, but is it also more black outside the US? Its supposed to be space grey which is actually a little lighter than the matte black 7 plus. This one looks like a jet black 7 plus and not a space grey 8 plus.

Shoot4Life I think that is smart, you're getting it 100$ cheaper, and you CAN get it in 128 GB (which I personally think is the sweet spot, 64 is too little, 256 is too much).
Those videos with no pixel movement information are useless as a test. You actually need relevant information on the video file to show significant results
I didn't see the video yet, but I know that he didn't test it with the apps "logged in" like Facebook, Instagram, Twtiter and so on, test the apps when they are logged updating, synscing and stuff is when you really knows the performance of a phone while doing other stuff...

Another amazing video. I'm just curious as the iPhone 7 had different read/write speeds depending on the storage, with the 32GB being much slower in write speeds. Is there a big difference between the 64GB and 256GB read/write speeds on the iPhone 8. As 64GB would be fine for me, but would get the 256GB if it's storage speed was much faster.
Stick with IPhone 7plus just upgrade from 128GB to a 256GB Red product 7plus. It’s about $12 dollars less a month to lease . Not crazy about the white in front of phone 📱 but looking for a face plate red or black . iPhone 📱 8 plus red looks good but I prefer metal verses glass. I drop my phone a lot. I wanted the 256GB . I always used military grade phone cases all eventually failed. Always need to repair or replace the phone 📱. Until I bought the mophie battery charger best $80 spent classic at the Apple store. And phone still gets dropped but just from lap waist or from bed but no harm to iPhone 📱. Just make sure you also put a screen protector because screen protector will crack but screen won’t. My screen protector still cracked. I’ve got to stop dropping my iPhone 📱..lol Don’t get Ghost Armor you’ll end up having to replace phone 📱 made me so mad I barley had the money to replace it. But great video now I don’t feel foolish when the sales person asked why I didn’t upgrade to the iPhone 8. ..lol when they Improve the 8 I may upgrade to it or the iPhone 12...lol

Did anyone else notice some of the frame drops when entering and exiting apps on both the 7 and the 8. And yet the 8 is supposed to be the fastest phone on the planet. There’s an obvious lack of optimization in iOS 11.

Btw the iPhone 7 has an L3 cache as well that Geekbench doesn't detect, so the amounts are only 1MB apart, but the 8 moves it to faster L2.

I think it's better do with iPhone 7 Plus (iOS 10.3.3) and iPhone 8 Plus (iOS 11). My iPhone 7 Plus 256GB model its like garbage with iOS 11.
