If you want to keep the design on the front, you can't flip the bag and put the sides together. So, you end up with the handles facing the other way. If you want to carry the bag with the design showing, you have to hold it differently. I find it more uncomfortable to use the bag that way- which is why I normally choose t-shirts without a design or with a design I don't care about showing or not.
It's just an option for those who want that sort of thing. It mimicks the netting used in "produce bags". I find that you have to make them small if you want the bag to be practical because the fabric stretches and so do the holes. Because you're using breathable fabric, though, the holes aren't really necessary for produce. It does give kind of a cool look, though. It's not bad for a beach bag to let the sand flow out more easily. 😉
I love the no sew options!!!
I made a few fringe bags from tshirts with cool designs I think they're super cute and fun to make
Totally! I can't count how many types of bags I've made with old t-shirts (and not so old ones) over the years! :)

Hmm I’m trying to figure out how to do this in order to keep the graphic design on the front of bag.

What's with the holes for the produce bag?
