thank you guys for all ur feedback as it helps me learn and improve from this ❤
updated takes: blood/gore is fine with a warning, as it’s up to the parents to monitor kids access not me. also there are older people in the fandom who enjoy that stuff.
maps: there are beginner friendly maps, but i don’t like the label “beginner friendly” since it’s kinda backhanded in my opinion
also it’s fine to like murderer characters just don’t glorify them
i still believe there’s no place in the fandom for sexual content with feral cats

also do not comment on gueses videos as it’s what they want. they want haters to comment and harass their videos because they’re a troll and it boosts it in the algorithm, this is why i removed the link to their video from my description in hopes that ppl wouldn’t have easy access to it and would discourage discovering it so that it wouldn’t get the algorithm boost

@toastrrbath sorry. That was a bit aggressive.
Well, the point of it being "beginner friendly" is so that those who are new to animation can get more practice.

I don't agree with the second point, about horror/gore. This fandom doesn't just have young kids in it, theres plenty of older teenagers and adults as well, and they should be able to make more mature content (as in horror/blood/gore, not nsfw themes, those are still gross as its feral cats) for other people in that age range to enjoy as well. I think PetitPoisson is an incredibly talented horror artist for older fans of the series to enjoy and it certainly isn't their fault that kids with unrestricted internet access watch their videos. Your own personal experiences are irrelvant when ultimately it still wasn't the content creators faults that you came across that stuff and chose to watch it as a child.

    • @confuseddragonedits2294
      @confuseddragonedits2294 Год назад +76

I second that, technically this series was meant for *early teenagers*, kids who are more developed and able to handle and understand these topics. I think because the series is about cats, parents just assume its alright and let their kids buy the books and be exposed to the material.
Really you can't place the blame on one side directly, as the issue of exposing children to violent and disturbing content in the fandom can't really be heavily blamed on anyone. The artist shouldn't hold back their talent just because kids might watch it, parents can't be expected to have perfect foresight, and the younger audience is just drawn to the idea of talking cats in a fantasy world. No one is really at fault when blood/gore/horror aspects are involved, especially in a fandom where gruesome death's like Tigerstar are explained in thorough detail.

I also don't get that point as Warrior Cats literally has blood and gore and horror in it. Scourge disembowels Tigerstar, in Goosefeather's Curse we read about dead cats piling up in camp, Bramblestar kills his own brother, Shadowsight has seizures, Sparkpelt almost gets killed by dogs, Frostpaw had to see her mother get mauled by dogs, Snowkit was taken away by a Hawk, when Bristlefrost dies in the Dark Forest Ivypool said her body irl disappeared, etc. How is it wrong to draw stuff that literally happens in the books?

This is the same kind of argument people used to try and censor rap music and video games in the 90s. The fact is, it is not the creator's job to police what a child is able to see online. It is their parent's job.
Trigger Warnings are the same as ratings on a video game or movie, it is the parent's job to keep track of what their kids are watching and no artist or content creator should have to modify their content just cause a negligent parent didn’t do their job.
Edit: The original version was a bit more aggressive than it needed to be.

I feel like the difference is when the content is being made for a child fandom. Warriors is rated 9+, and much of the fandom is underage. Showing NSFW or glorified grooming to a child fandom is horrifying and reprehensible, ESPECIALLY when some of the people participating are children. Minors were involved in the making of DROPITLIKEITSHOT and Straight Boyz, despite both having inappropriate content, the former being more disgusting however.

I've been in a lot of fandoms in my time and it is by far one of the least gross fandoms on the internet because of the fact that sexual stuff like this map are so surprisingly rare in the fandom.
As for gore and blood: who cares? The book series itself is gorey, the 6th book opens up with the villain being gutted alive. I got into warrior cats when I was 9 years old (bare in mind that I was a very sensitive child, animals of farthing wood scared me at the time) and even I was fine with it. You can't blame the warrior cats fandom for being edgy as a child.
Edit: I think it was a good decision to have the ThistelClaw x spottedleaf stuff in the books because unforunately children nowadays do need to be taught about the dangers of grooming. The only problem I have with it is that it could have been handled better.
Second Edit: people don't like Mapleshade because she kills people, they like her because she's a likable villain with a tragic backstory, something that obviously is going to appeal to edgy tweens and young teens.
Third edit because Im adding to this while watching the video: "She murders for fun" - no she doesn't. She murders for revenge, and justifiably so. Any mourning mother would want to do something similar to those responsible for her childrens' deaths.
Edit four: "giving him attention for trying to murder kids" my sibling in Christ... he is a fictional character. He isn't going to try to murder more kids because people gave him attention. You can't be serious.
Final edit: a child is not going to be perminantly mentally damaged by making an edgy warrior cats oc who kills other cats, nor will they be mentally damaged by reading a book series that has a lot of villains in it. People are allowed to like characters that you don't like, they're allowed to draw/animate them however they want, just because you personally don't like the character doesn't mean people need to stop liking them.
I haven't been in the warrior cats fandom for two years now and somehow this video still annoyed me.

The problem with expecting popular map hosts to be beginner friendly is that no matter whether or not beginners can join. They will get a flood of applications and more than likely there will be a large chunk of apps that will be better qualified for the part. So the only real solution if you expect them to include beginners, is to either do a map with a raffle situation. Fair chance for all. Or do do a map ONLY for beginners. Otherwise you really cant expect large creators to pass up the opportunity to have the best quality possible.
Its also incredibly obnoxious when people whine about not getting into a map. Ive been turned down from MANY maps I've wanted to get into. But that means I need to improve myself and try again later. A lot of lesser known creators still get into big maps if theyve put in the effort and built up the talent and skill. Better yourself instead of feeling bad for yourself. Or you'll never improve. Rejection is a part of growth and development. Embrace it and learn from it.
As for the whole audience debaucle. Of course we shouldnt be promoting sexual material to the children of the fandom. Especially not here on RUclips. But the internet as a whole is an unsafe place for children in its entirety and we as a fandom should not be held accountable for what they find. Warriors is a bloody series. The fandom shows that well enough. Tigerstar was canonically ripped open from his neck to his hindquarters with sharpened dog teeth, swiftpaw and brightheart utterly mauled by dogs beyond repair, and those are brutal scenes, among many others, that you cant just pretend doesnt exist because there are 8 year olds around. Some of the fandom exaggerates the gore, sure, but it is cartoon gore that we make sure not to label as 'for kids' via RUclipss guidelines.
Kids are going to get into stuff they arent supposed to. And just because the parents arent monitoring what their children do, doesnt mean I shouldnt be allowed to draw canonically accurate depictions of gore.
Maybe 8 year olds shouldn't be in a fandom that is literally about bloody, murderous cat wars.

As for the more gory side of the fandom… well, it’s warriors. I’m not sure the problem is so much that people are drawing out scenes from the books as much as it is that the books are marketed towards kids. I think it’s more up to the parents to not introduce the books to their kids and it really shouldn’t be marketed as a series for kids in the first place. Yes it’s often more scarring in visual media than as written text, however many artists are just illustrating what’s in the books already and it doesn’t seem fair to blame them when violence is a very large part of what these books are. While some projects do take it much farther, I think if you don’t like the violence then your qualms are better directed at the books themselves rather than the artists working with that material.

I agree with most points! (Warning, this is long)
-The fandom now seems to have a track record of pedos and creeps, because of the wide age range in the fandom. And it’s NOT okay at all, glorifying problematic ships is just gross, and it probably desensitizes minors to groomers.
-I do think it’s okay to like villains in fandoms and make villain OCs though, as long as it isn’t all murder and death and has at least a bit of a story, and more meaningfulness to the person than “murder OC”. Though maybe I’m biased because I was that kid who drew gory stuff because of animations on YT lol.
-And I agree on the “non beginner friendly map” bit. Young animators should feel included, and not just waiting for beginner friendly labels to decide whether they get in projects. I understand if the map is a more personal project and meant for views and entertainment, but I feel beginner friendly environments should be regulated.

I think most people like characters like mapleshade and ashfur for their story and not because they are murders. The thought of Anti-heros, Anti-Villains etc is a really interesting character dynamic because they are doing something bad for something they think justifies it, and that's why they get so much love. Yes they are terrible cats, but thats not why they are loved and its not encouraged to like them for those reasons. As someone who uses scratch probably more then youtube, there are lots of opportunities for younger members of the fandom and it's a safer place for younger people who read the books. I think more younger fans of warriors should use scratch because it gives them safe opportunities to explore the fandom they love, because there are not many adults on scratch to interact with, and there is minimal gore and everything is g to pg13

I think Mapleshade might’ve been suffering from psychosis after everything that happened. Doesn’t make her actions any less justifiable, but it does help some to maybe understand why she did what she did. If Mapleshade were human and charged for her crimes, she probably would’ve been found guilty for reasons of insanity.

They are included in kids sections at actual book stores. Books a million puts them in the young reader section. Their book descriptions say they’re for ages as young as 8. They are literally for kids, so it’s important to remember that. You are not allowed to sell books with a false age appropriation listing, which prevents things not appropriate for kids being sold for kids. The authors write them for kids, they’re for kids, and legally they are sold as kids books and considered such.

ive always had mixed feelings about the warrior cats fandom in general.
a lot of older warrior cats content creators dont seem to understand nor CARE about the vast age range in the fandom in which you mentioned. they put out content with heavy themes that are just NOT suitable for younger audiences, often without so much as a content warning, as well as on platforms accessible by young, young children.
also, like you mentioned, the books themselves DO have some problematic content, like the spotted novella (that is STILL being sold to little kids, mind you!). a lot of warrior cats enthusiasts get very...erm...DEFENSIVE about that problematic content and like...FOR WHAT? is this the hill you want to die on? fr?
i feel like some fellas in the warrior cats fandom get super on edge and defend the erins with their life for this type of stuff, and it's just...it's not a good look. you can like the books and the overall concept WITHOUT defending the problematic content. i just do not get why they want to defend the authors so badly. you can BE in the fandom without defending them.

It’s up to parents to decide the content their children consume. I don’t care about the Erin’s or any of their problems because I’m not familiar with it. If we want to keep these things away from minors then we can encourage guardians to review content. However, it’s not our responsibility to stop artists creativity because minors watch things. I made a community post about this exact issue. People need to take accountability. These are a book series for children, though yes, there is blood, gore, and darker themes, having genuine NSFW can be a huge problem. Children can get addicted to NSFW, which will lead to worse problems in the future. People need to moderate their fanbase, but adults also need to control what their children click on. Minors were involved with the DROPITLIKEITSHOT project. I've spoken with two people that we're involved.
Most people didn't know of some of the parts. Parts such as VOIDCATTO's, (the one with Jay and Broken) was made as shock value. The WIP was posted a week before the actual MAP, and therefore nobody actually knew about it.
Not only that, other adults involved we're outed for being racist, (Toastiebun/Weeping Raven).
At the MOST, people need to restrict content. You are allowed to share NSFW, just make sure that minors are not involved.
There are so many topics that Warriors touches on. Religion, death, and other types of things.

While I can agree with the sexual content stuff, and that Geuse is definitely crossing multiple lines, your other points on offensive content (gore/horror and villain-centric content) are puritan arguments at best. Most of those maps straight up have warnings on them, same as any other entertainment of the type, that they are not for children. The creators are not at fault if they put in an attempt to filter out underage viewers and said viewers are ignoring the attempt.
Also being a fan of villainous characters can be for several reasons. Some villains in Warriors (Hawkfrost, Scourge, even Mapleshade) have compelling stories to them. We do not automatically "glorify" them by enjoying their stories. Hawkfrost was an ambitious warrior who felt that his origins were causing him to be unfairly treated, and was manipulated by his father to follow in his footsteps. Scourge was only a *kit* when he ran away from home and was nearly killed by the first forest cat he met and had life long trauma from it. Mapleshade was deluded from the start, but she was far from the only character at fault for the death of her kits and her mental breakdown is understandable.
*None* of this excuses what they did, but it makes for compelling stories.

Personally in terms of giving villain characters maps and stuff, unless they're specifically glorifying it, I think its fine. You can like a villain character without approving of what they do. You can enjoy the way the character was written, or appreciate the plotline of the character, without specifically saying "What this character did was good!!". And considering a lot of Warrior Cats revolves around some sort of conflict, its not surprising that people tend to make projects relating to the villains. A lot of people enjoy making AUs and stuff with these things because they're intriguing plotlines. I see the point about Thistleclaw/Spottedleaf and Spottedleaf/Firestar, since that includes grooming. *That* is just plain weird. But in terms of the Murder Cats, that's just sort of.. The nature of the series. Those characters exist to serve as conflict, or build the lore/stories of the world of Warrior Cats.
I personally found Mapleshade's story arch interesting. I do not agree with the fact that she murdered innocent cats. I just enjoy the idea of her character/arch. I don't exactly like how it was written; it could've had a lot more potential. But in terms of the concept, it was interesting. Stories would be absolutely boring without villains. Villains make it interesting, which is why people like villains. And because villains are so interesting, people are interested in making projects about them. And I'm not saying there aren't strange people out there that like these characters because they think murder is good or whatever. I'm just saying that most of the time, its not anything past "Oooh villains are cool and interesting" Or "I like this plotline".
I feel like its not that deep, anyway. People enjoy what they will. There's a lot worse problems within the fandom than thinking maps about the villains are bad. Like the NSFW in the fandom, or the creators who ended up with grooming allegations. Those are completely heinous compared to "Haha murder cat cool". I agree with a lot of this video (Besides the horror/gore part. I disagree with that- but I've seen other comments about it that explained it really well so I won't get into it.) but it bothers me a little bit that people who like/enjoy villains are just automatically villainized and considered bad for liking villains. If people hated the villains in Warrior Cats, a lot of people wouldn't be reading it. I don't think the author's goal (or any creator's goal) when making villains is to get you to hate them, necessarily. Its to get you to dislike what they're doing, but still find interest in the plotlines created within the media. Stories cannot exist without conflict or villains, and just because you find a villain interesting and choose to draw/animate about that character, it doesn't mean its bad. Or giving too much attention to them. (That point specifically was a little odd to me. Its a book series about cats, I feel like its not deep enough to go "People are giving too much attention to this murderer" when its a fictional character.) But saying people who draw/animate/write about villains glorifying murderers when people are drawing literal animal porn is a bit ridiculous to me. Creating fan media relating to villains doesn't automatically mean glorification.
People can enjoy whatever they want. (Within reason), and liking a villain doesn't automatically mean you're agreeing with their actions or glorifying them, you just like the way they're written/designed/their plotlines. And that's perfectly innocent and valid. And considering villains make up a good chunk of Warrior Cats (I mean plotlines, I'm aware there's more protagonists than antagonists, I just mean in each arch a good chunk of the big plotline is specifically these villains causing conflict) its kind of stupid to accuse people of glorifying murderers for making media relating to them, because even though yes, there is a lot of positive/happy plotlines and characters to make maps about, the good majority of plotlines in Warrior Cats ends up being conflict, and people tend to make maps about events/plotlines in the books. If people are making maps based off plotlines of the book (Which.. Yes, of course people were going to do that) Then yes villains will come up a lot.
TLDR; its not edgy to like villains and it doesn't automatically mean you're glorifying their actions when you make fan media about them. You're perfectly valid to like what you like (Within reason) and it doesn't harm anyone else to enjoy plotlines or lore relating to villains.

I don't remember if there's any other grooming situations in the series (Haven't read it in a while), but things like *that* are fine to go after. Or pedophiles in the fandom. Those types of things are 100% not okay. But when it comes to fictional murderers, I just feel like its a little nitpicky to pick apart people who like villains when there's so, so much worse in the fandom.

i think you're just speaking from bad experience (which is vaild) but you should keep in mind that kids have always loved spooky stuff like gore and horror. thats why horror games are now over saturated with stuff clearly targeted for kids who just want an adrenaline rush from the jumpscare.
that's also why kids love halloween. they get to dress up in bloody costumes with little knife props or spooky masks and everything is decorated with monsters and dead people. they literally sell candy that looks like human remains like eyes, guts, and blood, that kids go absolutely feral for.
kids are little edgelords, they always have been and always will be.
thats how stuff like the creepypasta fandom came to be, because a lot of kids find comfort, joy, or even inspiration in that kind of thing.

To be completely honest with you, I don't think most of this is the fault of the fandom but rather of the kids' parents. Children should not be on the internet below the age of 13 period, especially not on big group fandom sites like amino or deviantart. Yes, there are a lot of horrible people in the fandom and I don't doubt that, but I feel like a lot of the mature content isn't glorifying anything but rather taking what they were given in the books and making art with it. The grooming stuff is a different, more disgusting story, but the gore and violence and everything, and honestly even some of the weirder canon relationships (like the incestual or huge age gapped ones), can be made into content without necessarily approving of it. Fandom spaces (no matter what book series/show/movie they're based around) will always have some horrible people and horrible stuff, but they will always have kids in them no matter what rules are in place, and it's not the older teens' or adults' job to protect them. It's the job of the kids' parents/guardians to teach them how to avoid mature content.
Edit: Also, I'd just like to point out that while trigger warnings are great for a lot of things, there are also studies that have been done which concluded that they're actually making things a lot worse. People aren't building up tolerances like they used to, and it's making a lot of older Gen Z'ers struggle in the real world. Obviously on the internet, TWs are good for things like grooming and pedos and whatnot but it gets to a point where people are kind of just sitting alone in their personal bubble and not allowing themselves to experience any kind of uncomfortable-ness or anxiety or hardship which will ultimately fuck them up even worse. Children shouldn't be on the internet super young and their parents shouldn't be allowing them to access mature content, but these content creators and older fans don't have any obligation to censor themselves or their work as long as it's nothing illegal or directly harming another person. In fact, they really shouldn't censor their work. Censorship of art shouldn't happen - it's art. Some pieces are supposed to make you uncomfortable, or make you think, or make you experience emotions that you would rather not experience. That's like, the whole point.

    • @houndsharkk
      @houndsharkk Год назад +5

To add on to this, people making art and animations of morally bad characters isn't really them glorifying their actions like 90% of the time. Characters like Ashfur and Mapleshade just are genuinely good, interesting characters (at least in some parts of the books), and it makes them fun to make content of. Just because a character does something wrong doesn't mean they're not a good, well-written character deserving of a fanbase - it just means that their fanbase has to know how to distinguish bad actions from bad characters, and they have to know how to talk about liking the character without supporting those actions.

Yes he did care about the kits death, it describes his emotions in the book, same with Frecklewish. But people who read Mapleshades book are reading it for her, and her only. Not her story and how bad decisions make bad consequences. But, she’s way too overloved and shes an incredibly overrated character who honestly should just be forgotten about at this point in the canon universe. She never played a special role besides training cats in the dark forest and following Ashfur. “Oh Tigerstar is scared of her so shes amazing” Nah man shes just a murder😭 I too would ve scared of a murderer even if I was Tigerstar bc Damn, she was a problem.

I don't agree with everything you said, and the kids finding the maps is just kinda off to me. So of course you knew when uploading the video, you had to say: This video is not for kids. And a lot of the maps aren't made with kids in mind. Hell like 99% of the maps I've seen have a trigger warning in place. And the fact that kids are finding this is the reason that we all now have to put 'no not for kids' or 'yes it's for kids' on our videos because youtube got a huge fine from COPPA. (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) So the fact that kids under 13 are finding videos, means that they are lying about their age or using a parent's account. And to that I say; It's the parent's responsibility for what their child sees. I am not a parent whatsoever so I can't really say how much it can effect children, but honestly, If I was under 13 and my parents saw that I was watching heavily gore themes, I'd probably be off that video faster than you could say one. And I agree that bigger animators should host more beginner friendly maps. I don't do animations at all, but I love to watch them. And even smaller and more beginner friendly animations are fun and enjoyable to watch. But this is just my two cents.

Hey I saw your pinned comment, but I still need to throw my hat in the ring as I thought that this video opened up some pretty civil conversations that should be had more often. I don’t want this to be super repetitive though as I saw a lot of folks here say some pretty good points so instead, I wanted to address other things:
*Also (for the sake of Transparency), I am in fact, a former warrior cats fandom member. I don’t partake in warrior cats anymore (this goes for canonical and fan related stuff, it’s honestly funny that this video even pass through my feed in the first place), and I am much older than when I first joined the community.*
I personally believe that warrior cats as a whole shouldn’t be for younger kids, which, in the grand scheme of things, it’s a much more deep-rooted issue. I think a lot of warrior cats book’s topics aren’t handled as gracefully as it could be, which normalizes some pretty messed up stuff for younger audiences (I understand that younger kids do/can comprehend things that a lot of people don’t give them as much credit as they should but, we do need to be understanding of the things that younger kids genuinely can’t comprehend as deeply as an older audience member). It’s clear that your personal experience has certainly shaped the way you see younger audiences, but I do believe some blame falls to the parents that let their children on the Internet unsupervised. Also, we do need to acknowledge that some kids are just super sneaky (there are many cases of children sneaking to see things that they have no business seeing in order to feel “cool” or to quench their curiosity. kids are super impressionable, and this mixed with the fact that children mind’s aren’t fully develop leads to some terrible situations).
Also, it’s to my understanding that you misinterpreted the definition of glorification a bit (Glo·ri·fi·ca·tion - the action of describing or representing something as **admirable**, especially unjustifiably). I do believe this point had a lot of merit, though as I totally agree from when I was in the community, I saw far too many people glorifying some pretty messed up stuff. There is a difference between depicting something that happened and glorifying it though, I can depict what Ashfur did without glorifying his actions. I personally find Mapleshade such a fascinating character, and I believe that her book introduced such an interesting concept (that has been done before, of course). That being it has an unreliable narrator, the book shows you what happened from her perspective (which is made all the more interesting as from the start, she’s proven to be pretty unreliable source). I have my own gripes with this book though as, I felt like it could’ve been written a bit better (for clarity’s sake and to give more background on certain pieces of info). As a person, I find Mapleshade deplorable and I couldn’t imagine myself ever thinking fondly of her. People are allowed to like a character as a character and despise who they are as a person, having discernment is a very important aspect of keeping that balance.
Despite my essays-worth of interjections, I do believe this video has some good points. I did feel as if some of your takes, were a little clouded by your own personal preferences and past experiences (totally understandable, this was a rant after all if I’m not mistaken). Good job for taking criticism though, learning is never linear. It’s always important to be open to learn and truly educate yourself to have well-rounded opinions.
    Have a good day ^^

an artist, writer or any other creator is NOT obliged to please everyone and draw what will please the majority. NSFW artist ≠ bad person, rapist, psycho. Those who draw content of this kind are the same people as we are, approving horror, blood, guts and so on but condemning NSFW is hypocritical IMHO (you may be disgusted by it but acknowledge the existence of these things). Everything is ok as long as it is away from children, parents should control children and not prohibit and restrict people. Any problematic content, if it is not distributed to the open general public, children and others, has its place, these are the rules of the Internet.

There's lots of ways to improve, for example animation memes. Animation Memes are extremely beginner friendly, and you can improve your animation skills by doing that. sorry but i dont entirely agree with the gore aspect. A lot of fans are adults, the catering isnt just to kids anymore, and we engage with the themes shown in the book. For a lot of us, gore art is how we vent. Im sick of things having to be sanitized because kids could see it. Thats not my job to protect them. This is for most fandoms. It isnt my job to make everything happy and positive online. The monitoring of children is up to their parents, not us.
The shipping is different. That gets taken too far and the fandom gets disgusting.

I agree with you that gore is fine in warriors but your reasoning is awful. That’s like saying there’s nothing wrong with adults drawing rule 34 of a character like Dora and if kids see it then it’s their fault. When you enter a community of children and draw adult content it is your responsibility to ensure minors don’t see it.

I didn’t even know that map was a thing, and you know what I think i’m better off not even knowing about it or hearing about it…ever, and the fact that some people in the fandom promote this kind of stuff, really any fandom that is known to have kids in it, I hate to think of the fact that kids are being exposed to this type of stuff on youtube and even if youtube kids is a thing I doubt any kids actually used it and even then some kids content has some questionable stuff that is “presumably” for kids, I mean even the actual books hardly ever go THIS far, and you’re completely right I do think there should be more maps containing beginner animators, I mean if you just don’t include them just because they’re not popular yet is just gonna discourage them from actually getting better I mean who knows they might be popular one day and besides even the popular animators were all beginners at one point, it’s just not fair to treat the more recent animators like they just don’t have a place in maps I mean everyone starts out like a beginner. It’s really screwed up how the world treats people like they aren’t good enough when everyone started out at the same level of skill and of course with time comes talent I mean you can’t just not let someone in just because they don’t have that yet.

I have another take to add onto this, I absolutely despise how spottedleaf and thistleclaw's character assassinations have effected actual grooming victims in the fandom. Coming from the partner of an abuse/grooming victim, with most of my friends being abuse/grooming victims, the cycle of abuse does not work like that and it CERTAINLY does not make people into groomers. I am tired of people implying my partner is a danger to children because of things he was groomed into making.

It’s lovely that warriors can tackle such dark concepts with cats and teach kids about these things but man people please add trigger warnings more and age restricted your super nasty shit, or don’t post it on RUclips at all where it’s super accessible. (And also warrior cats stop mishandling topics like grooming! :)))

Warriors teaches us grooming is bad for ALLL THE WRONG REASONSS. like I know they aren’t allowed to explicitly mention the topic of grooming, so why even include such topics? The fandom over here glorifying ivypool along with the whole darkforest shenanigans is making things worse. While the authors and the omen of the stars did handle the subject of grooming quite well while still being un- explicit, the fandom just HAD to taint it, didn’t they?
On the other hand, the authors ONLY made thistleXspotted seem like a bad thing because of his relations to the darkforest and not because he wanted to f**k a minor. This just no winning here.

  • @Dustlicious

I loved Warriors since middle school and there is lots I love about this fandom but it has lots of flaws like all fandoms. I do agree with the glorifying blood and gore. I definitely drew lots of that because of Warriors and I mean drawing gore isn’t inherently wrong. Lots of people don’t like it but I really don’t see anything wrong with drawing that as late teen but young kids like 10 and stuff really don’t understand it. And with the pron and pedo stuff god this makes me want to leave this fandom immediately. I have a past with the media I consumed at a young age being very sexual and it kinda fucked with my head. I don’t want kids to view that sick map and think it’s ok to draw and post feral p because they really don’t know better. I feel like lots of maps and other animations are good at putting warnings to scare off young kids but that doesn’t always work ofc. I feel like once the map I’m working on is done I’m done with Warriors for good. I’ve seen a sudden spike with South Park x Warriors maps which isn’t inherently horrible but idk I feel like it needs to have an eye on it since sp can be pretty bad and teach young kids some not good things. Not trying to be a buzz kill the ones I’ve seen haven’t been bad but yk it has potential especially with lots of bad people in this fandom.

I personally think take about “the beginners MAP” is annoying, because there are maps like this, but, well, nobody’s advertising them! Or paying attention. There is a big creator who’s making them, but, well, people want a good quality for the maps with the good idea. I can’t blame them. It’s society, and it was made by us.
For me, the problem with fandom is that YES, it’s supposed to be for kids, and yes, in this 2003 year they were kids. But they grew up. They’re staying in the fandom because of nostalgia, and growing up. Warriors cats IS a bad book for kids, because of it’s poor writing and we’re ignoring that, I would say it’s grew some of bad people we have today. But also! I don’t think kids should avoid mature themes.. it’s the way it shown that’s the problem. I mean, it’s parent’s fault they not checking what their kid’s doing. Or they’re not teaching kids about adult stuff in the way they need. They have to check what their kid’s watching. And before adulthood its PARENT’s duty to control their kids, NOT SOME RANDOM ADULT ON INTERNET. that said adult can groom kid, making them what they want. I hate this take about noname adult’s duty. Max they have to do is warn to watch the media with parents or something. But first of all.. PARENTS.
Im not excusing anyone, I am adult myself and well, I feel BAD for being adult because how many boundaries I have to make rn and be happy when I’m with other adults. These days im just afraid of talking with minors.

tbh, before geuse could've posted the map, he at least should've age restricted it and didnt add Darkstripe gr--ming Sorrelkit as the thumbnail.....BUT NO! apparantely that doesnt apply to him because he thinks there isnt anything wrong with it....i get he is an adult, and he does his own stuff...BUT NOT THIS STUFF!!!....p-dophillia is not okay...and the other sad thing is that some people are supporting him and one thing he did that was really uncalled for was the fact he had the audacity to put "🛬🏦🏦🔥" which i guess is supposed to be a..uh.."New York" joke, with a picture of his OC holding a gun and wearing a "I ❤ KIDS" shirt on his community tab, and it really p-ssed me off because 9/11 jokes arent funny, they're just plain uncalled for and yucky because so many people suffered at that time and he's making fun about it, and he supports p-dophillia which is also very gross and yucky....he doesnt deserve attention whatsoever, he's basically the HypnotistSappho of the WarriorCats fandom except he isnt a z--phile, and just like HypnotistSappho, he likes, child p-rnography, p-dophillia, and feral p-rnography (as shown in his more recent map) and its just disgusting and sad that people like him still exist in this world...as a minor myself and a near-victim of sexual violence, which is something Geuse has shown in his latest map, this type of stuff actually scares me a lot because i have past trauma with it and if someone asks me my age, i dont really say because i dont want to fall into any traps, but overall, i agree with you on the Geuse situation...and that the books are made specifically for children even while it still tackles some pretty intense stuff, which i feel okay with since i can handle death and pretty sure a lot of kids my age can too, it just really really hurts to see that people go through this irl and people such as Geuse are making fun about it. But i agree with you hardly, no one should suffer from what Geuse has done and just be living their life without having to worry about any of this.

I don't agree with her actions, but the way she's written to be slowly (not very slowly- very moderite-ly) going crazy and killing because she feels the need for revenge just.. makes her so intresting.

Warrior cats was never really pointed towards minor audiences, which is why there will most likely be no movie of the series, while I agree with some of your points as many other people have stated. Many fandoms and series have terrible sides to them and sometimes there’s just nothing you can really do
Also it’s the parent’s responsibility for their kids internet access, not the people ON the internet
And if you have a problem with CHILDREN, on the INTERNET, a place where many people can get hurt, then talk to the parents, not the people old enough to be here. Parents are responsible for their children having access to this kind of stuff, not us, and not you.
Warrior cats was never intended for children, nor will it ever be. The youngest age it advertises to is 9+. I get it, this wasn’t scripted, but please for the love of god, so research before you rant, it makes everyone less likely to be angry

I'd like to add my two cents to this matter as a person who was once a dumb child on the internet. I was a part of many classic fandoms of the 2010s like undertale, mlp and of course, warrior cats. The thing was that a lot of people seemed to just forget that there were children who were in the fandom. Thus I and many others were exposed to highly edgy and innappropriate media. This was particularly bad in the MLP fandom where you couldn't go 5 minutes without running into "MLP BAD END SPEEDPAINT" or "ASK EVIL (INSERT PONY) QUESTIONS."
Stuff like this definitely affected me a lot as a kid, even if I didn't realise it at the time. I just was obsessed with all the violence. It was like a drug, knowing that I was watching something "forbidden."
So while I enjoy some good old edge and gore, please don't forget that children exist and will probably see it.
