I like the solution but unless having a black painted wall a huge object on the living room wall doesn't look great. I'll stick with my affordable 4k laser projector for the time being.
Still needs to be for everybody's home option. Yes, for millions or billions of homes, you can install this. But I will wait until the technology becomes available for consumers. Currently, 100" LEDs are very affordable, so this is only expensive because it is new and, like the iPhone, charges too much for its technology, but when this goes into bulk production, it will be much cheaper.
False. This isn't expensive just because it's new. It's expensive because of the low yields and high time consumption that result from placing each individual Micro LED into each module.
The big turning point will be at the 30k price point. Thats price parity with the top end JVC projector. The next turning point is the 20K price point. When you can get an appropriately sized wall at 20K the tide will start turning against projection in a real way.
No, RUclips cut it because of copyright of the movie playing behind him. I reedited and uploaded the longer version that has that all included. Just watch that one :-)
I was gonna say the same thing that's why I would not buy this even if it was 1000 squid I'd only buy it if it's one panel anything more than 2 then you can see the lines where there joined another reason why I would never by a foldable phone. as you can see the crease. If I was going to use it for say 4 screens different channels then I can put up with that but for one full video, nope
Had to laugh at the casual manner in which he said, $40k; and that was the cheap option. The technology is definitely the future for the home theatre experience, but damn... that price has to come down. Once it's under $10k, sign me up.
Video walls kind of suck for home theater. You can 't put speakers behind them, and if they're big enough, you can't fit any in front of them either. And, still extremely pricey. Cool as infodisplays and whatnot, sure.
@@chriswindham9868 They had a demo of how you get around speaker placement issues with a video wall at CEDIA. Video walls will eat a huge chunk of the projector market over the next several years.
I can envision myself investing initially in a reasonably sized 16:9, then upgrade later to expand it horizontally to 21:9, then stack them vertically, and so on and so on. that would be so wonderful, in a upgrade-as-you-go approach, reducing e-waste, and easy on the wallet. but, caveat is tech always advances, what if the new panel additions don't play nice with older panels or old panels become obsolete fast?
Video Walls are used on most concerts, tv shows like The Voice, America Got Talent etc. They are very expensive. I worked on events with them. Eventually these walls will be in your local movie theaters as prices go down.
In 2 or 3 years they will be at cost parity with upscale enthusiast home theaters. Its almost there. I am planning to upgrade my screen to a wall from projection as my next big upgrade.
He talks about it going into home cinemas then says it costs $40k. Only a certain demographic (read small) could/would pay that amount of money on a home cinema screen.
The take home message is that this is the same cost as a 42" plasma when they came out. This price will come down to less than 10K quickly. And be available for DIY folks. The clock is ticking quickly.
I think projectors will still be very relevant for another decade with the wall prices as high as 30k. That’s a bit steep. Until there’s a huge market, and it’s mass produced, this will be for wealthy people.
You can have a setup, but its not the same. Its less expensive, depending on equipment (you can buy a million dollar projector if you want) but the big point is that in the near future this tech will be less expensive and better than equivalent projection systems for cost. When you can get a 130" wall for 10K its the end of most home projection.@@CompetitionSportsNetwork

Thanks for watching!
So cool
I agree!
When it gets to $10,000 and under then we can start talking about replacing my projector!!!… I work for a living!!😅
The big turning point will be at the 30k price point. Thats price parity with the top end JVC projector. The next turning point is the 20K price point. When you can get an appropriately sized wall at 20K the tide will start turning against projection in a real way.
3:49 WTF happened to the price????? 4:14

That was fast......Thanks @@JilesMcCoy
The video got cut when he was talking about the pricing? Is that intentional / marketing gimmick ?
No, RUclips cut it because of copyright of the movie playing behind him. I reedited and uploaded the longer version that has that all included. Just watch that one :-)
@ 4:52 facts lol
Please share the video on all the social channels! Thanks!

Thanks!
Ah , so the led cabinet is in a box ? 😅👌 But yeah , amazing :)
The display panel plugs into a frame on the back… is that what you mean?
@@JilesMcCoy Wouldn't that describe any tv though?
I see the seams
I couldn't.
You dont see the seams on these. You should check them out.@@woogieman007
Please me,i need a opportunity 🙏🏽
We all do!
I like it
Me too!
Had to laugh at the casual manner in which he said, $40k; and that was the cheap option.
The technology is definitely the future for the home theatre experience, but damn... that price has to come down. Once it's under $10k, sign me up.
Its coming!
@@JilesMcCoy I'm looking forward to it.
Video walls kind of suck for home theater. You can 't put speakers behind them, and if they're big enough, you can't fit any in front of them either. And, still extremely pricey. Cool as infodisplays and whatnot, sure.
Did you see what Barco is doing to solve the speaker problem?
What’s Barco?
@@chriswindham9868 They had a demo of how you get around speaker placement issues with a video wall at CEDIA. Video walls will eat a huge chunk of the projector market over the next several years.
Check out the TPI Audio motion controller. It addresses the speaker placement issue.
If you need additional details or a contact send me an email at jiles@jilesmccoy.com
The cost is astronomical only a couple hundred thousand dollars 💸
40k
Probably still no 3D support :(
:(
Has to be ridiculously expensive. Dope though
Yes and yes! I want it soooo much!
I agree that would be an outstanding way to go!
and you did not answer his question sir. a very good question indeed
@@JilesMcCoy
GIve it 5 years and this will be less than a mid range projector.
You can buy a 4K projector and a 300" wall screen and have the same setup for much less. It won't be micro LED technology but it will still be 4K.
