Grew up in Pittsburgh, Pitt grad, life-long Steelers fan. You did a great job showcasing the city! Speaking of Mr. Rodgers - I drove cab for a while after college and had the unexpected privilege of driving him downtown from WQED studios in Oakland.
Pittsburgher here. Thanks for showing off our city! I noticed you mentioning you drove to many of these locations. For anyone staying downtown, almost all of these sites do NOT need a car. In fact, the one place you did walk (the incline) was the least enjoyable considering the tight sidewalk and loud vehicles. Besides Randyland, mattress factory, and the bicycle center (which are all in the same general area), everything else is maybe 15 min easy walk and/or close to the free light rail (the "T"). Even those few farther walks are not difficult or hilly. You could even use pittsburghs bikeshare program. But some of the other pittsburgh sites, like the cathedral of learning, definitely drive/uber/public transit.
I'm a native Pittsburgher. You set up a really nice tour. For those who are planning a trip and have limited time, I would suggest you can skip Randyland. It shows up on all the Pittsburgh must see lists, but it's a little out of the way and I can't imagine spending more than 10 minutes there--one person's folk art is another person's junk (guess which camp I'm in). Primanti's sandwiches are OK, but mainly drunk food if you're a local. The original restaurant (where you went) is in the Strip District which is a great place to walk around and get Pittsburgh gear and awesome meats, cheeses, produce, seafood if you're staying in a place with a kitchen and want to cook. This is controversial, but I've never been a fan of Beto's pizza. If you must go there, I suggest getting the extra cheese which is a good mix of melted/not melted cheese. Other cold toppings are kinda gross IMO. Thanks again for a beautiful tour of my city. You really got a beautiful weather day. It's not always so sunny here!
My sister just moved there a week ago from here in Portland, OR. I searched your videos just yesterday hoping that Josh would give me a reason to visit Pittsburgh. Thanks for reading my mind!😊
Thank you, thank you!!! My husband was from Pittsburgh (I am from Youngstown Ohio, about 35 mins from, “The Burgh” as my husband would call it). We met in the Air Force. He has since passed from cancer, but we had the best time when he would take me for a visit.
Pittsburg is another of my favorite cities to visit. . . and surrounding areas. My first impression was how all the bridges enhanced the cities beauty. I had the pastrami, delicious. I was a skeptic, but sold mid-chew! A folkart video of places across the country is a great idea!
Downtown Pittsburg is great! Vi need to say that I just watched another video that goes to some of the history of the outskirts of the city which was also eye-opening! Thank you for this tour Josh and Pops!❤️🇺🇸😀
Another great video! Thanks, Josh. I know you’ve posted this before, but what is the link to Pop’s RUclips channel again? I missed it the first time. My wife and I love you guys. Amy too!
You did a pretty solid job hitting all the major spots. I’d say the strip district and Lawrenceville are two areas maybe to have checked out and the cathedral of learning on Pitt’s campus
Thanks for making this wonderful video. Pittsburgh is awesome with many bridges on the river and cool places with many things to see . I really appreciate your efforts in making this tour possible. Thanks
Such a great guide to Pittsburgh! Love how you hit all the classic spots like the Duquesne Incline and Primanti Bros but also threw in some cool hidden gems like Randyland and Bicycle Heaven. Pittsburgh really does have a little bit of everything, makes me wanna plan a trip soon! Thanks for sharing all these awesome places! 🚶♂🏙🍕
W😲W…Josh and Pops…I can’t get over that Bicycle Museum🤦🏽♀️that’s AMAZING…I will have to go and watch this again…I forgot everything I was seeing…my mind was only on the museum. TFS❤️Best Trip Ever👍🏽 🙏🏽Beverley
All those bridges and rivers make Pittsburgh such a cool city. I used to love watching Mr Rogers, so it was nice to see they have a museum exhibit and a memorial. My father-in-law loves anchovies, go figure. Great video as always.
I feel sad. We missed so many landmarks, and places of interest. Thank you, very much for your excellent coverage. It gives us an excuse to go back. an awesome video... Thank you for including eateries. I love those parts, too. FANtastic, informative, and entertaining, as always, Josh and Pops... 🏡🙏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 Yes, everything I've ever read about Mr.Rodgers is all positive.❤️🩹
Hi. I live in Pittsburgh all my life and you did a fantastic job visiting fun spots and gorgeous video. I enjoy all your adventures with pop and they have helped me plan my trips to Utah and Banff. Keep up the good work as I always jump on when I see one of your videos. Bev
It's a brand-new reboot revival of this TV show on TBS set in The Steel City of Pittsburgh, from Hollywood to Pittsburgh: "Sullivan & Son" with all-new episodes per season on TBS, everybody can applaud from Pittsburgh to all around the world!👏👏👏👏👏👏🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🌍🌍🌍🌍🌍🌍
Thank you for visiting! Next time, check out Phipps and the Cathedral of Learning Nationality Rooms. You gotta get some pierogies and a proper pittsburgh salad. Thanks for bringing a spotlight to our beloved city!
A great city we visit often. Thanks for the informative video. Learned of some new places to check out next time. Don't forget to make a stop at Grandpa Joe's Candy Shop in the Strip District!
I love here and have been into your content you did so good I'm gonna go to heinz museum bc of u now I never did since I moved here I'm super happy you tried betos its a favorite!
Wow, Pittsburgh has REALLY changed since I last saw it in 1979. Not only is the sky a pretty blue (it had a LOT of pollution back then) but beautiful buildings!
If you and your pops get a chance to go back you missed a real gem Carnegie science museum is for the children but they have the Lost in space robots most of the movies in the back of the day also have a train layout of Pittsburgh
Lifelong Pittsburgher here- I'm so happy you guys liked my city! I've got more recommendations for you for next time, but Beto's? Are you sure they didn't say Fiori's? Despite living pretty close to Beto's, I've never even been. Guess I'll try it out. But next time, see the model railroad of the area at the Carnegie Science Center and go to Fiori's for pizza.
My family is from Pittsburgh but I haven’t been back in years. So much stuff has been added that it would be like visiting a new city, which wouldn’t be a bad thing. I liked the pedestrian portion on the bridge
If you go back be sure to head to the Cathedral of Learning (Cathy) at the University of Pittsburgh. The architecture is amazing and the international rooms are fun to tour. The national aviary is another must see. I also definitely recommend going to the fireworks on July 4.
One of the cities I hope to visit in 2025. You guys do a great job at making these vids! I’ve been to many of the places you have covered already to help form my itinerary. Thanks Josh and Pops!!!
Grew up an hour outside of Pittsburgh, but never had the chance to tour the city. I may have to do that now. Fun fact: A number of movies have been filmed in that city, such as The Deer Hunter, The Silence of the Lambs and The Dark Knight Rises.
Totally forgot this city exist haha. I do like tour/museum that has to do with food, that Heinz one look good, are there different Heinz to taste? I want to do the SPAM one after seeing your video too. Personally did a few similar and always enjoyed it, the Cup Noodle one in Japan, Yakult, Siracha, Tabasco, Jelly Bean, Tillamook, Coor's, Hammond's, Harry and David, Dole Plantation, multiple coffee and nuts one in Hawaii, all great. I don't include wine and whiskey tours but I guess it should be counted as well.
Pittsburgh is a gem. The only spot/attraction I might suggest would be the zoo. Well actually I would also suggest taking a boat ride/tour to see the city from the water.
Pennsylvania including pittsburgh is not part of the Midwest. It belongs to the mid Atlantic and more specifically Pittsburgh is a city in the Appalachian region, as a Pittsburgher your comment triggered me lol
Betos pizza might be the worst local pizza shop we have. Next visit, go about an hour south East to the Laurel Highlands and visit Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater, Fort Necessity, Ohiopyle State Park and stay at Nemacolin Woodlands.
Ahh man you missed Pams. Best pancakes ever. You also should have visited Allegheny Coffee and Peace Love and Little Donuts. You could have gotten a maple/bacon donut. All are located in the Strip District close to Primanti's
Very well done. They have one of the best MLB stadiums. The Steeler's unofficial song, "Black and Yellow" by Wiz Khalifa, is a personal favorite. I will go to the Heintz Museum next visit bc of this video. Peace.
When I was in downtown Pittsburgh, the streets didn't have any signs giving the street name. So it was hard to navigate my way there. But that was way back in 1997 though. It's probably changed now.
The best view of Pittsburgh is when you drive through the fort Pitt tunnel into the city. There’s no view just tunnel. Then BOOOM Pittsburgh in all her glory.
I'm going back next year you'll find if you rent a bike and go down the trail you'll hit everything you want to find and now I have to worry about a car or bring your own bike for that matter
Oh really? Is that good or bad? lol. I definitely wasn't hired for it, we just stopped by some cities we wanted to highlight while driving the Lincoln Highway.
Grew up in Pittsburgh, Pitt grad, life-long Steelers fan. You did a great job showcasing the city! Speaking of Mr. Rodgers - I drove cab for a while after college and had the unexpected privilege of driving him downtown from WQED studios in Oakland.
Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Detroit, and Kansas City all hidden gems 💎
I need to visit the other two and make videos!
@ThroughMyLens You and Pops always do a great job! Thanks!
KC would be a good one!
I call them real cities. Old ones vs new.

Josh and Pops! Welcome to Pittsbugh my home town!! It's seems like you enjoyed your time in The Steel City. Thanks for the video. ❤

It was such an amazing museum!! I am glad it came through on the video
I've ridden that funicular up that mountain. Good video on Pittsburgh.
Thanks

The bridges are so cool, for sure a highlight in the city!
We loved driving around Pittsburgh when we visited over a decade ago. I can’t imagine how beautiful the hilly city looks now.
That is awesome! Yea, I am glad I finally got to see it
@@ThroughMyLensits only going to get better as well! The state just announced a $600 million dollar revitalization project for downtown Pittsburgh

Appreciate that! Really loved the city!
My family literally just got back from a long weekend in Pittsburgh....I'm with Pops! Anchovy pizza is amazing!!
That's awesome, I hope you enjoyed it as much as we did!
Great job Pops! I can't believe you were able to get your mouth around the sandwich. :)
Love this video. Gave me some great ideas for my future trip there.

i'm pretty sure one of the ppg buildings was used as the exteriours of dr claws lair in the live action inspector gadget movie with matthew broderick😂
I did not expect that pizza. I’m going to be thinking about that for a while. I’m so confused by it haha. But I would try it for sure.

I love anchovies on pizza but Pops is right, I have to get my own pizza as no one else in my family likes them

Oh Pops has a channel?? BRB let me go subscribe real quick!
I think Pittsburgh is the 2nd largest city in Pennsylvania!
3 rivers Knoxville. 278th ACR.
I so enjoy EVERY post you make. At my age (81) the virtual living you provide is LIVING!
