    cooool but this is a solution in search of a problem. It more than quadruples stored cm³ the drive, adds weight, the drive has to be removed for use, etc

      Thats true, but its meant to stay on my bookcase desk. I want it to be enclosed and not exposed to anything.
      The "beginner" version definitely doesn't need that extra slot for the cable so it can definitely be a lot smaller, but the "pro" version isn't that much bigger than the carrying case I use, and it looks nicer.
