    I can tell for a fact this is the start of something special. I've never for a second underestimated your dedication and effort that you put into everything you set your mind to. That is why your channel has always had its place in my subscriptions. All I can say is - respect. I know first hand how difficult and often frustrating game development can be, especially when you're only starting out. I've been there myself. But seeing you grow through this experience and advancing your knowledge has me very proud of you because I know you'll turn it into something exceptional in the future. Keep up the good work man, I'm looking forward to the next episode.

    Look up the "Stunts game from Broderbum." P.C , (80's) it had ramps, loops, cork screws, bank curves, and complete control of the scene. I think you have the makings of "STUNTS 2.0" This has some amazing potential . Add a couple of tunnels, and jump through Water falls? Cool stuff. Good video.

    • @MichaelPohoreski
      @MichaelPohoreski Год назад

      Nice to see I’m not the only who caught the Stunts aka 4D Driving vibe!
      When I worked on _Need For Speed (PS1)_ one day I was talking with Daniel a fellow programmer who did the UI during a race. I forget how it came up but he showed me the source code for Stunts. I was wondering _”How the heck do you have the source code?”_ not realizing DSI had programmed the game and Br0derbund had published it. DSI also made Test Drive 1 and Test Drive 2 which is why we were unofficially the “driving team.” Eventually EA bought DSI and renamed them EAC.
      Even one of the original designers, Brad Gour, was still working at EAC. He was responsible for rendering in NFS along with Laurent.
      Stunts was popular because it shipped with a track editor that was easy to use.
      I would love to see a modern remake someday.

    Just an idea, you could swap that hole-in-the-wall pass for a portal, sending you to another lane, as if the whole game was an obstacle course through dimensions. Imagine that it's cool to go through the portal and see all the modified scenery, with a different sky, etc... By the way, this whole jungle seems kind of prehistoric, if you like the idea of portals, that first race track could take place in the age of dinosaurs.

    Great stuff! I’ve found the blueprints pretty clunky after being spoiled by text editor features I’ve grown to know and love so much (multi cursor, find and replace, etc) - but I’m glad it has introduced a lotta folks to the process of building things logically.
    I found it amazing how quickly you had that “HECK I’m such a DUMBASS” moment after a fix was about the equivalent of having an extra zero or a comma in the wrong place. That’s a hilariously large struggle with all the thoughts of “oh gosh maybe this game dev stuff isn’t for me…” coming in full force, so great job working past it!~
    Keep it up :D

    Wow! Really impressive on two accounts:
    1. How you manage to actually make a game without any experience. Learn Unreal engine 5 . Blender etc and finish the game in just one week!
    2. How damn impressive it also is that you can actually do this kind of development in UE5 in 1 week without any "handwritten" coding is extremely impressive on the Unreal Engine side. It is fantastic no matter what the experience of the developer.
    Gonna try UE5 out now! And I actually have experience in C++ (which you obviously don't need but it won't hurt) but not in anything related to 3d and not anything to do with 3d-tools like Blender. Gonna be fun!

    what you can add: start menu, more levels (shouldnt be hard as you have all the core mechanics), different obsticals being introduced as you progress though levels would be nice, more cars to unlock, settings page to change controlls and graphics, and a global leaderboard for each level could be cool.
