Thank you so much! For this block, I used Japanese mountain cherry (yamazakura) from Woodlike Matsumura. It tends to be a good deal harder than anything I can get where I am.
What type of paper do you use? And BTW tapping helps stipple the glue in a more uniform fashion thus resulting in a uniform bond with the paper. That's my story and will give it to you.
I use normal copy(printer) paper for both the initial transfer and to prepare the color transfers/separations. More traditional craftsmen will use a gampi paper to do the color separations, but since I do not have a easy way to get it and have had no issues with copy paper, I stick with copy paper. That would make sense! Tapping it would probably level out any larger ridges of glue that might be there from swirling! Thank you again!
Great video, really enjoy these woodblock videos. Relaxing and fun to watch. Very interested to see what it will look like with color added!
Thank you so much!
Wow. The detail looks great on this one. So excited to see the colors you choose!
Thank you so much! It was definitely a bit to chew through. That's what we are working on tonight, with any luck, we will have a final print!
Insane talent, love your videos, and so humble, inspirational 🤘
Thank you so much!!!
Love to watch you print. Technical question. Are you printing with wet paper or dry? I was taught to print with a damp pack.
Can't wait to see this one in the store 😍! When will it be?
Thank you so much! Wrapping up the final print run tonight, so it should be up about this time tomorrow 🤞
So does the price for the print increase as the hardness of the Cherry does? 😁 Can't wait for the final print...looks beautiful!
Haha, thankfully not yet 😅. Thank you so much, it is slowly getting there!
Fenomenal what kind of wood are you using?
