my mom died 4 years ago this week, and about 2 years ago , as i often do, i will get out her wallet and look thorught it, little did i know i missed one little place in her wallet that, had a hidden compartment, and i found a 20 dollar bill she had thought she lost 8 years earlier, so on her birthday, i bought a plant just for her, a giant snake plant like yours, i have a green thumb but my mom did not, but she did love her big snake plant, so in honor of her, i used that 20.00 to buy a big one, so every time i look at it, i think of her, and that is of course every day, susan here, thank you for posting this, made me smile to see yours as well
This is beautiful! I just celebrated the 9th anniversary of my moms passing this past Sunday. It's strange how we find ways to experience the love of our mothers. ♡ my grandma and mom did struggle with plants too. I'm happy I have this love of plants. ♡ it makes my days brighter. What a beautiful life!
I once met Christopher briefly in a coffee shop and couldn't help but shyly say hi and express my love for his page. it was one of the first instagrams I fell in love with when I first started my plant journey. I didn't want to take up any of his time but he was so gracious and sweet and happy to talk plants with me!! we spoke for several minutes about our favorite plant shops in the area, and he was so grateful to hear about how his page had inspired my own love for my planty babes! his kindness is unmatchable and he's exactly how you'd imagine in person--just as bubbly, passionate, and warm as he seems in his photos!

@@errorbanana5063 you can go ahead and suck an egg. see yourself out. you're just sad you clearly aren't as charismatic and compassionate as Christopher is.
People watch Netflix for hours; I'm watching plant enthusiasts for hours and loving every second. I felt so happy for this guy when his plant had babies and got a deal on a plant. Need more of this in my life. Love it
I loved it because I found “queens” to be a cute name for the plants. Also, I’m a gardener as well, and dealing with plants you have to understand the plants, where they comes from & how too grow them in order to be successful with your plants growth. So the word “queen” when your plants have their tantrums they are (to me) acting like little queens.. 😌
Summer, thank you for taking time to highlight a marginalized person on your channel! I sometimes feel unseen in the plant community, and think it’s so important for those with an audience to take time to highlight those who are underrepresented. Your videos are inspiring and you are the truest plant queen! Love love love.
I thought I have about 50 plants till I got out my nerdy plant journal the other day and decided to list what I have and when I ended at 97 different plants I realized I may have a plant shopping problem. But they make me happy and I keep them happy so I'm gonna keep going lol.
See if your plants are compatible with each other. Cacti/succulents and more lower lying stuff work in arrangements and help with general room space/spicing things up visually
That cactus is "Stenocereus beneckei". Sorry I had to ride on the top comment as I dont have an IG to leave a comment for Christopher. Hope this helps others who are looking for the ID, too.
Awesome vid! Have you guys ever consider doing walking tours of plantshops (those hidden-gems) starting from Chinatown, thru the small plantshops in the Village then end at the Union Square green market! Mix in NYC history commentaries & plant stories thruout the tour. Even if you charge a $15-20 fee, I think a lot ppl would sign up! 🌿😊
Summer was so chill and layed back during this house tour, she could obviously tell he was an extrovert so just let him take the spotlight and show his plants! Even when I heard him call the peperomioides a peperomia she didn't correct him or disrupt his enthusiastic flow, I was waiting for her to correct him but she just let him do his thing!
By far my favorite house tour. Please film an update with him just so we can see the 2 of you together again. Great chemistry! Plant queens yaaaaaassss!
I loved this houseplant home tour. My only complaint is that it ended too soon. I enjoyed seeing how someone in a small city apartment nurtures and displays plants. Please visit with Christopher Griffen again - he's fun and sweet. You two play off each other well.
I just allowed plants into my home and into my life - - - after many years of having convinced myself that I had a black thumb... After spending countless hours watching youtube videos and tutorials i decided to get my first two plants - - - a peace lily - - - and one pothos... The Peace Lily did not make it - - - but the pothos decided to hang in there... Since the pandemic hit - - - i have now brought in at least 15 new plants that are not just living with me in my sacred space - - - but they are thriving... They have seriously changed the way I interact with nature and the world... And recently finding your youtube channel has taken my plant obsession to the next level... I guess that was a long way around just to say thank you, thank you, thank you...
I love that he calls his plants “queen” it warms my heart and I feel the same way about my plants! He is such a great energy that I’m so glad I was introduced to.
Im completely charmed by you both. I am in Florida and we can make anything grow... its so diverse and colorful. You are both invited to visit and I will take you to all of the nurseries... We can also drive around and pick up plants by the road on garbage day...lol... People put them out hoping others will love them. Its such a loving community...Be well- jennifer
Christopher is a guy you can have as a friend.....By watching the video, he seems to be a good person you can have as a friend.....So happy, knowledgeable, and loves plants.....
I love this guy! He seems like such a happy interesting person and I love the way he speaks. I really like seeing the different kinds of plant people living in our city/
I feel like my newfound (6 or so months in) love for plants has bettered my mental health in so many ways!!! I loved this video!!! Ugh, I love plant people!!
Anytime I’m having a bad day I’m going to water this video!!! Everyone needs a friend with this type of pure light in there lives! Can he please start a RUclips because cause we all need more of his light and joy in this world!
I loved this! Christopher has a great collection of plants, and I like how he speaks about each one so lovingly. He's a great plant parent..lol. I enjoy all of your videos, and really like the ones like this one..where you visit and have a home tour of the collection of different plant lovers. I would love to see more home visits. This was fun! Thank you, Summer. :)
Plants take so so so so so much patience. It’s one of my favorite and also least favorite parts of the whole thing. I feel so accomplished when I look back at my older plants and seeing how much they’ve grown! But I want them to grow faster lmao
OMG, I am so addicted to your RUclips videos. Christopher's house/apartment tour was great fun and informative. I am originally from Manhattan and so miss the city scene. I recently visited Brooklyn Botanical and just became fascinated by all of it. This winter of no winter has given me a perfect reason to jazz up my space with plants, since I can't cultivate outside. I love Christopher's energy and pure love for what he has created in his space. Thank you both!!!!!
There are some great photos of shelves built for plants that go across a window. I love the idea because you can fit in more plants :) try this link www.pinterest.ca/pin/63402307239053377/

I'm sick with covid right now, but I need to tell you both Summer and Chris how much you brightened my day! I could quite literally feel the love flowing between the queens and the plant lovers! A huge thank you to you both for being there for me in this moment in time when it's so needed. I love you both bunches 💗!!

I absolutely loved this house plant tour. Kween you are awesome and have a beautiful aura surrounding you. Such a fun episode and so glad I got the opportunity to see your collection. Plants are definitely addicting quickly. I only started getting into plants 3 months ago..... Now have 55 in my small apartment! How did that happen?
I am so glad you showcased Christopher! He has such a refreshing and fun energy! I especially love that he really does care for his plants so much and appreciate them of all it’s beauty, regardless if they are considered “rare” or common! He doesn’t just own them just because but appreciates the plant’s structure and uniqueness!! Love, love, love!!
A few yrs ago while visiting Manhattan, staying in a high rise downtown hotel, i was fascinated by a couple living opposite sunbathing on a large balcony surrounded by their plants. Every so often as the sun moved across their balcony and shaded their plants, they would get up and moved their plants to be in the sun. This went on for a while and showed me dedication to their plants which at the time i didn't understand from someone that lives in a house with some plants. I've since become more of a fan with more plants and am now tending to them more while 'corona quarantining'. Love your videos and enthusiasm of plants.🌿

@B.R. V. Can confirm. I grew up in a pretty homophobic area, and the number of raging homophobic repressed queens was ridiculous.

So wonderful to see two people who love plants talk and almost are unaware that they are on camera. Genuine plant lovers.
He really brought her out of her shell. She laughed so much in this video. Genuine laughter. So good to see!
