Can’t they understand that it was all the deals Israel made with terrorists in the past, that led to Oct.7th?

This is the elephant in the room: Israel probably could have rescued nearly all the hostages by force, like the hostages in Entebbe in 1976, and the 7 in Gaza that the did manage to rescue last year in two different raids; they have one of the best-equipped and best-trained armies in the world and units that are specifically trained for this, but of course it would have meant harming a lot of Gazan “civilians”, and they’ve long since surrendered to public option that says that’s unacceptable, no matter the circumstances.
The thing is though, probably over half the people who were directly responsible for all the deaths, injuries, and kidnappings of Israelis on Oct. 7 were Hazan CIVILIANS. We know that; the evidence is overwhelming. So why is this artificial line being drawn between combatants and civilians in Gaza? One of the frequent things many of the released or rescued hostages have said is that there basically are NO real civilians in Gaza except the children; they were kidnapped by civilians, abused and tainted by civilians, imprisoned in civilian homes, and forced to do domestic labor for them, like literal slaves.
We know the civilians know about, and actively colluded in, the deliberate murders of hostages, or indirect murders by medical neglect. The know and they don’t care, because it’s a society of sociopaths. All that matters to them is hurting Jews; it’s what makes them happy.

Why should hostage-taking be rewarded?
The only reason the IDF didn’t go straight into Gaza with guns blazing to rescue them all immediately was because they knew that Hamas would ensure it couldn’t be done without becoming a bloodbath. Some of the Israeli hostages would no doubt have been killed too, but not all; some would get rescued but there would be hundreds or even thousands of “innocent” Gazan civilians dead too that the world would then hold Israel accountable for, and just another thing to hate them for. But, it would have taken away all of Hamas’s bargaining chips, putting them in a much less powerful position, and probably would have resulted in the war being shorter and less deadly and resulting in their eventual surrender. And a major threat to Israel’s security would be removed.
This all sounds very brutal and ruthless, but it’s what any government really committed to protecting their people would do. Israel USED to be brutal and ruthless, and because of that their enemies feared and respected them more and they didn’t have horrific things happening to them like on Oct. 7. They were attacked because they had become too kind and weak, and far too concerned with being loved by the world. Kindness and weakness are not respected in their part of the world; brutality is.

Relatively disciplined Hamas release in Gaza City and Khan Younis matched with 1st daytime release of Palestinians means negotiations are ongoing.
There should never have been any “negotiations” with these demons.
Everyone loves a winner. This love is much more powerful than whatever good stuff there is in people.
When Hamas parades trucks full of their "freedom fighters" with machine guns, they are winners. The fact that these trucks were stolen makes them even greater winners. But what makes them the greatest winners is that they did what they did on October 7, and got away with it.
When IDF troops went into Gaza, I thought it was just another "mowing the grass" -- another nothing. Later, seeing how strong and decisive it seemed, and after the IDF went into Lebanon, I changed my mind. I shouldn't have. Once again, they won, we lost.

Even if there are still some people who still think there can be a peaceful 2 state solution, Oct 7 has proven that this is not realitity. After Oct 7, no sane person believes that they want any peace. They have cut off their nose to spite their face. Whatever happens, there will now not be a Palistinian state. Because it is pretty much shown that they are not all all interested in any type of peace. No one wants to be neighbors with murderers. No even Egypt or Jordan.

If Israel had never made deals with hostage-takers in the past, Oct. 7th would not have happened, or at least, the hostage-taking wouldn’t have happened.
Nobody takes hostages if they know they have nothing to gain from it.
