    I once did a capacitor can like that and the way I got the black tar with the capacitors out was really easy. I put the whole can in the freezer for 3 days.
    When I took it out it was so cold I tapped it on the sides with a hammer and the whole block of tar with the capacitors came out really easy. In the future you should try it that way if you have another one to do.

    Dan, you are getting like Doug, too many projects started....LOL
    I guess that is the norm for us...LOL
    Make sure you have some insulation on the inside of that can, you may want to remount those caps and use 2 boards end to end.

      That's not a bad idea. I didn't think of using them end to end. I did use a piece of paper between the caps and the can.

      @@coolbluelights Yes but if you had to spread the can wider it can short with paper and also you may not get the can back on the chassis, the holes may not line up.

      @@old64goat I test fitted it and the tabs do line up, and none of the leads can touch the metal can because they're against the board, so I think it'll be ok.
