Used to be a radio announcer
    Before taking up acting
His voice became a combination with his image
On the screen and lo and behold a star was born!

Richard Widmark was a versatile actor, as noted, but dollars to donuts not many people under 30 will recognize his name and talent. He played bad guys and good guys in his career. I hope he's with the good guys now.

Widmark deserves better than this pointless garbage. He did NOT have a tragic life.

A lovely man who once shared a large glass of brandy outside a London hotel with my wife, a true gentleman.

I remember watching The Alamo in a movie theater as a youngster, Richard was really a great actor, & yes, he was a great father, far from Bing Crosby who caused big heartaches for his kids...

Hi I'm confused on seeing a young Morgan Freeman unless he starred in a film with Richard (Dicky to his friends?) Great actor, esp The Alamo a classic.

Could have been a fair doco if not for the monotonous repetition of Widmark's early "Tommy Udo" role and then over his acting range then back to Udo...at least several times this merry go round of comments paraded itself through this offering, and that very repetition makes it simply not worth watching

That's Judy Garland, not Judy Widmark.
