we were in our 4th year high school that time back in the late months of 1996 and our only means of time passing was to wait for this video to be played on MTV Asia... Toni Braxton was such a sheer joy watching her in this melancholic heartbreaking video... this song was all over the radio and music television stations just like Channel [V] too.
I've always considered this song a Pop ballad. It's like the black sheep among her other songs on the album. If you'd like to dig more into R&B, her other songs like You're Making Me High, Let It Flow, Find Me A Man, I Love Me Some Him, Why Should I Care, and There's No Me Without You would make good materials :)
Hi there Anton..luv Toni, a real Sister of music, would like to introduce you to Lisa Fischer singing " How Can I Ease The Pain"... you will be surprised ❤❤...enjoy your reactions to ( new) artist you are not familiar with. Keep up the great work...
I don’t know of a single pop singer today that is as beautiful as Toni Braxton. She can actually sing and she’s one of the most stunning women to ever do so. I remember listening to this on the radio in high school and watching the video on MTV when they played music videos all day.
It’s ironic it because one of her biggest hits. Mariah wrote Hero for Gloria Estephan, ended up reluctantly recording it and again became a huge hit for her. Sometimes you just need to go outside your comfort zone.
I remember hearing this song right after Kobe Bryant passed away and I grieved for Vanessa Bryant, I felt so bad for her losing her children and husband like that. As a mom that lost a child that is the most unbelievable pain anyone can go through. My son been gone 11 years and it still feel like it was just yesterday. I love this song but it really hits home!
Toni Braxton was the first singer I ever knew who had a low voice in such a low register that it actually made me feel comfortable singing her songs. Her register is extremely low. It is a very strong alto voice. Before her the only person I ever knew to have a very strong alto voice in the music scene was my own mother.
Good reaction. U cant compare every female R&B artist to Mary J Blige though. Each artist is unique and brings something different to the table. Appreciate Toni for Toni.
My Dad died in 1996 when I was 10. I had a lot of emotions. We dedicated the song "Because You Loved Me" from Celine Dion's "Falling Into You" album from earlier that year. That album along with Toni Braxton's "Secrets" were played a LOT. They both helped me sing and cry my heart out because their vocals were so powerful. It was hard not to sing and feel.
Another Toni sing that I really love is How Can an Angel Break my Heart - very soft and beautiful. Karyn White is an artist from the 80's - very similar to Toni - with an amazing song called Superwoman. Starts out slow but has this incredible build up at the end. Also End of the Road by Boys to Men is one of my most favorite songs on the planet. Motown Philly is another great one as well.
An incredible Dianne Warren song. She wrote hit after hit for so many artists back then. This was one of the songs I had on repeat for years! This and the dance version of it. She's beautiful and Tyson Beckford is a stunning model himself.
YES!!! You finally reacted to the most successful singer to come from my home state of Maryland!!! Toni and her family are from Severn, Maryland (part of northern Anne Arundel County and not that far from Baltimore. Her family has a long line of pastors and it was reported that her father did not approve of her "sultry, sexy" vocals when her debut album was released, containing three top 40 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 Chart with "Breathe Again" being her biggest at the time (reaching #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 & peaking at #4 on the Billboard R&B Singles Chart) (almost identical to how the father of The Pointer Sisters reacted to their "lyrics" that were not "holy.") in 1993. She would finally score her first #1 song on the Hot 100 Chart in 1996 with "You're Makin' Me High." But it was this powerful masterpiece that vaulter her into super stardom. This would top three of the Billboard charts (Adult Contemporary, Hot Dance Club Songs - yes, in the 1990s it seemed every ballad turned into a dance song & spending a whopping 11 consecutive weeks at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 Chart). In fact, when Billboard turned 40 years old in 1998 & released it's biggest songs to the point, this song was declared at the time "the most successful song ever on the charts by a solo (male and/or female) artist." It would finish 1997 as the 4th biggest single on the Hot 100 Chart & as the #1 Adult Contemporary single that year. (It would be ranked at #4 for the entire 1990s decade & as of 2018, the #15 biggest single of all time. It went to #1 in five other countries as well (Austria, Belgium, Romania, Sweden & Switzerland). After this, she would only hit the top 10 one more time, in 2000 with the #2 smash "He Wasn't Man Enough" as she & her sisters would start singing as a group & eventually would get their own reality show on TV (with her younger sister Tamar becoming the breakout star). Yes, if you haven't already noticed/guessed, I'm a HUGE fucking Billboard nerd! Growing up, I didn't know there was an actual Billboard magazine, so every weekend on the radio for 3 to 4 hours when it aired, I would listen to Casey Kasem count down the Billboard Top 40 songs of the week & write every song down in my notebook. That's how I became addicted to knowing all these facts about the chart performance of each artist I've watched you react to. I like it because most of these songs you are listening to for the very first time & I remember actually listening (and buying a lot of them on 45 records) to them when they were first released! LOL
Toni has a gorgeous voice. Quite a rare style for a lady in that she's a contralto (the lowest voice for a female - E3 to F5) as are Cher, Annie Lennox and the late Patsy Cline, Amy Winehouse and Karen Carpenter. Deep, basement voices. Lovely! 👍🏻 -Chris (UK).
I love Toni's song "Let it flow" from the Waiting to Exhale soundtrack. I suggest many songs off that cd. Whitney Houston, Brandy, TLC, Aretha, Chake Khan, Toni and more. It is 🔥🔥🔥 You're making me high is another great one. Toni in a cat suit is always good as well. lol
For such a tiny lady, she has an incredibly powerful voice. Believe it or not, this is one of those rare slow jams that successfully transitioned to the club scene. The 12" single is incredible, definitely worth investigating. I know club music isn't your thing, but I can see the club mix easily hypnotising you.
....i gave the dance remix to a young Cuban co worker....and she loved it so much....she said she used to brush her teeth to it....i also took her to a gay club to see all these hunky sexy men dancing to it....she was in shock...she told her granny about it......then her lesbian grandmother fell in love with the remix too...when i played the original for her granny...she broke down crying....she also cried at the video too....she loved Toni and Tyson together and said they should've gotten married....
Her Debut album is a masterpiece" Anita Baker suggested she sing "give you my heart" instead of her. I think. Un-break my heart was hit on all platforms. Junior Vasquez remixed this and became one of the biggest dance songs ever, she and song writer Dianne Warren were pure gold.
Yet again a song from my years of being a moody teenager 🤣😂. I used to sing this in Spanish when I was 17. I can’t speak Spanish but there was a version on the Cd I leaned the lyrics from haha
Music is like your own personal time machine. I first heard this song in Manzanillo, Mexico. My friend and I were at a roadside joint called Taco Pepe’s having some snacks and cerveza. I can almost taste the piquante guacamole!
First time I heard Toni, I thought she was a he, her voice was so deep. In my defense, the music was super low and I was in a busy Pizza Hut with a Meat Lovers Pizza in front of me, so I was distracted. After that, I caught the song later and was educated and fell in love. The song was Another Love Song. Unbreak My Heart is probably my favorite song by her.
It's a shame financial problems plagued her career, her first deal screwed her royally and don't think her second deal was much better and she has had to file bankruptcy twice.

Breathe again. Toni Braxton
The most phenomenal ballad ever recorded. Toni Braxton is and always will be a legend. This signified her as a SUPERSTAR 🌟💖
A guy smiling like this because of listening to Toni Braxton is just wonderful! Love this so much! ♥️

😊same, memories❤❤
Beautiful woman, singer & such a handsome man with her!!! ............... WOW!!!!! 💝💝💝💝
....TYSON BECKFORD....the 1st....BLACK SUPERMODEL....
She has a big Spanish fan base , she also sung it in Spanish
Iconic. And, to think, Toni did not want to record this song originally. And it has become her signature hit.
It’s ironic it because one of her biggest hits.
Mariah wrote Hero for Gloria Estephan, ended up reluctantly recording it and again became a huge hit for her.
Sometimes you just need to go outside your comfort zone.
She didn't even want to do the song when it was presented to her... Thank God she changed her mind.
Just perfect.
Toni Braxton is 🔥🔥🔥
Toni Braxton is still going strong today and looks better!
Legend

Toni Braxton is a phenomenal vocalist, songs you should check out Breathe Again, He Wasn’t Man Enough and Spanish Guitar
All her songs are hits
The best part of this video is at 05:31 when you imitated her "woo". I replayed it so many times haha
That guy is Tyson Beckford, one of the hottest super models back in the day. This is probably my favorite Toni Braxton songs!
Tyson could still get it. 😂
Im pretty sure hes the most famous high fashion male model of all time.
@@galensterlings3148 ....you should see his SON.....
He still looks good today no homo.

WOW! Amazing!!
Definitely my favorite Tony Braxton song.

@@TheeAntisocialXxtrovert ....who TONI did a demo for....ANITA turned down the song...but she praised TONI....
❤️❤️❤️❤️

Toni Braxton- Spanish guitar,
Breathe again, Another sad love song

Love how you ❤ MJB. TONI AWESOME TOO
Idk what it is bout this guy but I love him and his channel. Maybe it’s the hat 🤔
The buff dude is male supermodel Tyson, popular in the 90s. I believe he did some movies in the 2000s. Toni's signature masterpiece
An incredible Dianne Warren song. She wrote hit after hit for so many artists back then. This was one of the songs I had on repeat for years! This and the dance version of it. She's beautiful and Tyson Beckford is a stunning model himself.
Love this song ,again ,yet another tune that brings back memories.
Love her

Nice reaction. My favorite song from her. "Far away" by marsha ambroious has a similar theme
React to Toni Braxton - Spanish Guitar ♥
One of my favorite songs of all time. Her rang is amazing! The passion and emotion❤

You can never go wrong with Diane Warren's songs. They're class of their own.
.....for real....she is just so iconic....everything she has ever written...she says she likes to challenge singers....so she puts in the work...
Check out the cover by Italian group “il Divo”
Yes yes yes. I love them. Saw them in concert... they are absolutely amazing

This song hits home and deep.. Iost someone close to me in August this year 😭😭
1) let it flow
2) Spanish Guitar
3) I love me some him
4) breathe
Another Contralto. You should do a series on them, there aren't that many
The dude in the video was a model.
Man this take me back to my high school years.
You should listen to Toni’s Spanish version of this song. It’s so beautiful I had to learn it in Spanish.
His reaction, priceless!!!!
Love this one. It always makes me cry. You can feel her pain.
You could react to Spanish guitar by her
Great Toni songs…
Long as I live.
Hurt you.
Breathe again.
Love your content.
Yet again a song from my years of being a moody teenager 🤣😂. I used to sing this in Spanish when I was 17. I can’t speak Spanish but there was a version on the Cd I leaned the lyrics from haha
She did a Spanish version to this video too
Ostras, no lo sabía. Voy a buscarla. Gracias!
Check out Spanish guitar.
Toni Braxton could sing about anything - I just would be ok if I were her boyfriend for about 10 mins......you guys out there, you feel me???
are these reactions being uploaded more than once? ive watched this before
React to Toni Braxton - How Could An Angel Break My Heart. Really2 good song, on par with Unbreak My Heart
Music is like your own personal time machine. I first heard this song in Manzanillo, Mexico. My friend and I were at a roadside joint called Taco Pepe’s having some snacks and cerveza. I can almost taste the piquante guacamole!
He’s mad cute!
Im not into R&B but I love this song a long long time a go.
Another great song “All my life” by K-Ci & JoJo
Toni’s Sisters, the Braxtons did her bgv

Alienígenas 👽
i still don't get how people could live without hearing any of popular songs? like were u living under a rock or smthn?
Lol..... "Dude is jacked".... smh
I'm your new biggest fan.
It's a shame financial problems plagued her career, her first deal screwed her royally and don't think her second deal was much better and she has had to file bankruptcy twice.
What a talent! Too bad she went down and went bankrupt. Mismanagement for sure.
❤🖋
I would hardly say its R&B. It sounds more latin influenced than R&B
My favourite Toni Braxton song ❣️
React to; Another Sad Love Song by Toni Braxton. The arrangement is so sexy. Love that song.
Why must you mention Mary J Blige whenever you react to a female R&B artist? It's so annoying Anton !!😔
Check out Barbra Streisand doing Somewhere. Phenomenal.
Another old school track that I think you'll like- 'Angel of Mine' by Monica.
