@@JunkinwithStacy awesome!! I have a question about the above video, I just have the reusable stencils( not adhesive) and am still having bleeding even when using mod podge, would you suggest an adhesive for sticking the stencil to the wood?
I used the exact o to cut around before removing the stencil. After all the painting is over but before you put the final clear topcoat over the whole piece.
Another viewer used mod lodge with good results. You would have to use some type of clear coat. Just make sure it dries completely and you use you exacto knife to cut around the stencil. Good luck!
I really appreciate you and your talent. I would like to see you use wood stencils from dollar tree( wood signs- right now they have Halloween) I would like to spray paint a shirt and other things for Halloween. I hope you decide to take this challenge
The self adhesive stencils don’t. Are you using the spray? You would have to wait for the paint to dry and then use goo gone. I would put it on a qtip to you don’t get any on the paint.
Do you happen to have any tricks for stenciling on something that isn't painted? I'm trying to stencil on wood rounds that my husband stained, so this particular trick wouldn't work. If you don't have a trick for my particular situation, that's okay!
Do you feel the chalk paint is a good long term paint for painting stencils on vinyl floor if I seal it? What is the purpose of chalk paint vs latex paint with flat finish?
I think chalk paint and latex paint are the same. Either way you would have to prep the surface really well. You’d want to use a high adhesive primer and sand the surface to ensure the paint bites in. Neither would be what I would consider a long term solution for flooring. It can be done but with any high traffic area it will eventually wear. I would seal both paints.
@@JunkinwithStacy Well, I tried with modge podge. Now I painted. I’ll keep you posted when it’s dry and I remove the stencil! Thanks for the prompt reply!!!
Hi, what kind of paint are you using? I’m having an issue even when I paint the background color first. Not with bleeding, but with the paint peeling up pretty badly. Always the top coat that does it.
That particular stencil is a stick on stencils that you can buy on Etsy. Just search adhesive stencil and you will find them. Otherwise there is a reposition-able stencil adhesive available at most craft stores and of course Amazon. I put links to some resources on my blog post that accompanied this video here: www.peonylanedesigns.com/?s=Stencil+
Here’s a link to the stencil with spray paint video! ruclips.net/video/JPH5yZrUfvU/видео.html
Surely that would work as well with spray paint, use the base colour and then your accent or contrast colour on top.
This link doesn't work! :(
You're my hero!!!!! Thank you!!
+Kayleigh smith thank you so much, that was so kind. If you have any trouble let me know.
Simple but probably effective, thanks for sharing!
You’re welcome! Let me know how it goes for you.
Amazingly perfect stenciling! Will use your tricks& try 👍
Can’t wait to see your stencil!
Would love to see a spray painting stenciling tutorial!
maria martens you got it! I’ll get one out shortly.

what a great video thanks for sharing!
Just wondering if you have any tips of how to clean a reusable stencil?
carly mateos clean the paint off? I just scrub them when I’m done. I lay them flat in the sink and scrub away. The one in the video was not reusable
Omg I do that all the time. Cool!
It works!
Does this work with mylar stencils that are attached to the wall with repositionable glue?
I haven’t tried it that way.
Should one always use an exacto before applying the top coat (actual color of the stenciling), or only if using a clear coat?
I used the exact o to cut around before removing the stencil. After all the painting is over but before you put the final clear topcoat over the whole piece.
What about stenciling on fabric? How do you prevent bleed?
🤷🏻♀️ I don’t stencil on fabric. I would think with how the fabric wicks moisture it would be next to impossible.
Awesome! TY!!
You're welcome!
@@JunkinwithStacy this has literally changed my stenciling!! Thanks again girl!!
What if you are stenciling clear acrylic? I have a makeup brush organizer I am wanting to stencil :)

Randy did you see the Halloween shirts I made? I accepted the challenge and I hope you like them! 🤗
But what do you do with residue left over from the adhesive??????
There isn’t any residue.
@@JunkinwithStacy what type of adhesive are you using --every one I’ve used leaves a residue

Clear it first and use clear coat the same way I used the paint. Should do the same. 🙏🏻

Do you wait for base coat to dry before sponging the black on?
carly mateos yes you wait for it to dry. That’s why using the exacto blade to cut around the edges is so important. Don’t skip that step
What if you used wood stain?
I’m assuming you mean as the base coat? Out can try a polyacrylic clear coat. I haven’t tried it over stain. I’m going to have to try it.
@@JunkinwithStacy Well, I tried with modge podge. Now I painted. I’ll keep you posted when it’s dry and I remove the stencil! Thanks for the prompt reply!!!
Good luck with Mod Podge 🤞that’s a good option. I hope it works!
@@JunkinwithStacy omg!!!!! Perfection!!! It works!!!!!
Yes! 🙌🏻 I’m so glad! Now I have to try it on stain. Another use for mod podge!

Al N the base was latex paint. And it was cured so you have to wait until the piece has been tried about 2 weeks.
What do you spray on the back of the stencil?

Stacy Verdick Case thank you 🙂
You’re welcome. Let me know how it goes! I can’t wait to see what you stencil.
Great vid. Thank you.
Jack Maher thank you! I’m glad it was helpful.
Very creative
+I . W. Mcfarlane thank you!
Thank you! Great hack and your don't approach it as brain surgery!!
🤣 it is certainly not brain surgery! The key is to make sure that stencil doesn’t move though. I would use the stencil adhesive for sure.
Smart fr fr
+Shredr thanks. I wish I could take credit but I learned it years ago from a stencil pioneer.
Stacy Verdick Case that’s a smart pioneer
+Shredr she really was. I miss her wisdom!
I really didnt see when you pulled it off
It just pulls off 🤷🏻♀️
I feel like my life has been a lie.
Really? I feel like mine has been an adventure. 🤗
