Gadget Inspector, just got my charger on the drone I found, charged the battery bough a new remote and man let me say this thing is quick, accurate and a lot of fun!!!! followed all your instructions and worked to a tee.
I think we are at a great point in time with our hobby, more advanced technology is becoming cheaper and easier for the end user to use. 4K cameras are becoming cheaper, GPS ability, better design and programming, the ability to pack more and more features into the craft, better battery life. I am excited to see what type products are being reviewed in 6 months to a year. Another great video Gadget.
Well said Dan. It's pretty amazing what you get at this price point now. Just a year or two ago this would barely get you a decent camera drone with brushed motors.
Another great video! Can't wait for 2 and 3. I like watching all the videos about all the different drones out there. I am currently not in the market for one, I am saving up for either a spark or parrot bebop 2 power. Sorry to bring other drones into the party😉 Again great video, love the page. Looking forward to seeing what you do with the live set up!
Thanks for watching and commenting and you can talk about whatever drone you want. It's no problem at all. The Spark and BB2 are both really good drones.
Thanks. As the fan of MJX that I know you are, I think you are going to love this quad. I do. Can't wait to see what you think of it. The flight test video is rendering right now (you know how that is) and should be uploaded this evening or tomorrow at the latest. I'm going to hit range and waypoints (and maybe performance with GPS turned off) in another video. That's mainly due to the relatively short flight time which is my only gripe really. This one should be pretty popular. I want to get my hands on the B3 Pro next.
The flight test video is rendering, so it should be uploaded later this evening or tomorrow at the latest. This is my new favorite Bugs. It flies great. I would say it's very similar to the F18/B2W in how it flies, but the main differences are in the automated functions and the tiltable camera. It's a solid machine. I'll have more videos to come on this one as I will be flying it a lot. My only gripe is the relatively short flight time.
Hi there, I have just got myself one of these and having trouble with it taking off and staying where it is. Done all of the calibrations and every time this thing takes off, it just flies off to one side. What am I doing wrong?!
GREAT REVIEW MY FRIEND!!! I JUST spent 2 days in jail and when the cops dumped out my lowpro back pack they broke my 2 fpv drones!!!!! So i think i give up on life maybe suicide is the anser!!! Took me so long to get all my fov gear amd they dump it into a parking lot even broke my fpv goggles i give up this will be the 3rd night i cry myself to sleep!!!!! My god blees you BECAUSE he punishes me
Bro......sounds like you're having a rough time. Whenever I'm going through my kids flood my mind and thoughts. I can't stop thinking about them. I know that even on my worst day, they will ALWAYS need their father. There are things that only a father can impart to his children. Hang in there....
A friendly fyi. I believe I heard it was not recommended in fact strongly recommended not to change the position of the camera angle manually. If this has already been addressed then nevermind. Lol. I like your video. Happy flying to you!
You're good bro. Please don't feel any obligation to watch all of my videos. That would be a bit narcissistic for me to expect that. I appreciate it when you stop by though for sure. Watch what you can when you can and that's fine with me. Your time is more valuable than money so you gotta' spend it as wisely as possible.
Been seeing it for a $150 with a coupon online.. but i bought 1 on ebay for a $166 and still same price as of nowz!! Love everything but the battery and i think the gw 198 is almost or faster & with all features except the tilting camera...
Good video, thanks for making it. Now I know I " won't " buy the Bugs 5W (B5W). The only thing is has that the Bugs 2 B2W doesn't have is : 1. legs 2. HD camera 3. Different lights. As far as the rest of it I think the Bugs 2 B2W beats or eqauls the Bugs 5W. If I want HD 1029x1080 video I just snap on my Sessions Hero 4 to the underside of my Bugs 2. The specs says the range of the Bugs 5W is only 300 to 500 meters, I've had my Bugs 2 B2W out to 729 meters. Of course you lose WiFi video way before that. I mounted a TX03 camera and transmitter to handle those far out WiFi videos. Bottom line: IF you don't have a Bugs 2 B2W and want something with a shorter " range " then by all means get the Bugs5 B5W.
Don't have the bugs 2 OR THE sessions4 and don't plan to fly so far that I might lose it so this will likely work for me. Unless I find a good reason to fly longer didtance
Hey Jeffery. Sorry for just responding, I missed your comments. I actually gave this drone away to one of my subscribers several months ago, so I'm no longer familiar with this drone. I honestly don't remember.
Hi I have bought the same model in uk , could you please help me. I have charged both batteries until all lights are solid on the charger as stated in the manual yet when I put them into the drone my controller says the drone batteries have no charge. The drone beeps and has green flashing lights, when I try to sync it nothing happens, the lights do not change colour or turn solid so I have no communication between the controller and drone. As well as the controller saying the batteries in drone have no charge it also fails to find any satellites. I am very annoyed as this was for my nephew birthday and he can’t use it, it’s even more annoying as all the reviews and videos I watched before purchasing said the 5w is easy to use and a very good drone
I would return it and get another; maybe you got a lemon? That's my best suggestion cause I really can't follow what the issue is there, but if the controller isn't holding a charge maybe it's faulty. Keep in mind that the controller must be paired with the drone the first time you power it on....MJXs instructions are pretty darn good though. Again, if it's not working per instructions, return and/or exchange it.
I haven't tested that specifically John, but based on what I understand in general, you should have full control of the quad at its maximum range. The app provides the video feed and automated features using a 5G signal. The tx or remote is still using good old fashioned 2.4ghz to actually control the quad. GPS is definitely available without the app. You just have to do the compass calibration before it will become active.
I honestly don't remember if this bird has headless mode...I never use it. If it does, I don't think it would matter if it were in GPS mode or altitude hold mode in order to turn it on.
Yeah you're not supposed to do that, but it was right when I opened the box and before I read the manual. The camera was fine, but don't want to make a habit of it because I'm sure its just a plastic gear in there.
That's really hard to say and I think everyone will say something different. I like both the Bugs 3 and Bugs 3 mini but they're not GPS. Between the GPS Bugs that I have personally tested, I like the B5W.
Hi, I saw your review and I bought the Mjx Bugs 5w drone. For the moment I downloaded the application for Android, Bugs Go on my Huawei P20 Pro (Android 8.0.1, WiFi GHz 2, 5 / GHz 5) but does not open, immediately appears a white page and this error: ) I'm sorry, the program is abnormal and will be closed. I have read other reviews on Google play that complain about the same problem. What can I do? Did you also know about this problem? I've tried with other phones and it works. What I could see is that it does not work on phones with Android 8.0.1 installed. I do not know if the problem may depend on that but on 6 phones that I tried to install the application, only on my P20 Pro (with quality significantly higher than others) unfortunately does not work. I await your opinion. Thanks so much
Hello. Unfortunately, I use an iPhone with all of my drones, so I'm not as familiar with Android and I have not experienced this problem with the app. Sounds like you have been able to isolate the exact firmware that is not compatible. I recommend contacting MJX directly: www.mjxrc.net/content/contact.html to find out if there is any way they can remedy this for you.
I like all these reviews, BUT, I am no fan of Wi-Fi drones...not knocking them, just not my thing...would be nice if they had a dedicated controller and a monitor and DVR set up on the controller...and get off the cell phone thing...just my opinion.....not a fan of the cell phone apps and use...still a nice drone for those who like them..and another Great review nonetheless
I hear you. That's the great thing about this hobby is there are so many different options out there. We can all find something we like. For some reason my bugs kept falling out the sky then the lights would blink red, fresh batteries in controller and drone. The first two times it happen no biggie I’m only about 10 meters off the ground but this last time I’m 50 meters up just hovering and boom drone falls out the sky.. have no idea why this happen but let’s just say I’m highly disappointed with this drone
Wow, that's the first time I have heard about a bugs doing that. You probably got a defective one. You should see if you can return or exchange it because obviously the drone is not supposed to do that.
Gadget Inspector yea the catch is this is my second one, the first one I ordered wouldn’t get passed the vertical and horizontal configuration, had to send that one back too
Man, there has to be more to this; I wish I could see everything that you do. I fly and test so many drones and I rarely have issues like that. Well, maybe you should try to just get your cash back and move on from this one. Add a few more bones on and get something a little higher quality.
Gadget Inspector I’m flying in front of my house, could be it, says there were 18 satellites available when I took off so couldn’t been GPS signal, in the manual it says when all 4 red lights are blinking the compass is malfunctioning I dont know how that could happen though
Yeah but none of those things would cause a power failure. If anything, a compass error might cause it to start toilet bowling or maybe even fly off, but it shouldn't have a sudden loss of power like that. I can't remember for this one, but most drones have an emergency cutoff that you can execute with the sticks (both sticks to the outside or inside corners), but I believe the bugs' cutoff is that lock button. Not really sure what's up there bro.

What is the maximal size of the phone holder, how many cm? Will a 6.4" Phone fit on it or only 5.5"? Thanks
Can you tell me why i can't see signal bugs 5w on my phone. I just can't see its signal on my phone's Wi-Fi. Please help.

I agree, the only thing I would improve is flight time. Otherwise, it's another great quad from MJX.
tilting the camera up and down nice review.. hope you read the caution on not to move the camera by hands lol
Yeah, I did it for science 😉.
My drone every hits a wall and i drop the batery on the ceramic floor..is it damaged the units or not?
I really like the looks on this one 👍
It's a good one for sure!

"Follow a brotha"
Let's try the "return to the hood " function =)
What are you doing twisting on the camera. Says to avoid that
I was trying very hard to break it....for science...
Great review..please tell me is "jjrc jjpro x5 epic" or "mjx bugs 5w" is best?
Sorry but I have not tested the x5 epic. I am willing to bet that it is probably identical to the bugs 5w. Looks like a clone to me.
@@GadgetInspector is "mjx" or "jjrc" a good company?
I like many of the drones MJX releases. Both companies produce mainly toy grade quadcopters.
Follow my brotha!Circle a Brotha! Love it Brotha!
LOL...
And my GPS only show 0 ..should i try the drone outside?because i try the drone inside my house and not outside
You won't get a strong enough GPS signal indoors. GPS is strictly for outdoors.
@@GadgetInspector is it okay if my drone hit the wall and drop on the ceramic floor??
Wtf how did u connect the camera????
Nice review man. Disappointed with this one. The gimbal doesn't do a good job of getting rid of jello. Otherwise, love mjx stuff.
Thanks Neo. MJX is also releasing the Bugs 3 Pro so you might want to check that one out.
Thanks man. Fully aware, been following them closely. Just returned home from flying my original B3 actually hehe. A ton of fun!

Can it control without transmitter only use phone?
Yep.

Can I fix my action cam to this drone ?
It has enough power to lift an action cam.
Gadget Inspector Thank You
Will all the functions work properly with using the controller only ?
You can fly it with just the controller, but you'll need the app for the automated functions (follow me, orbit, etc.).
